I agree! its really friggin anoying, its like the same people who if you read the mission briefing, in game the say "WHO THE F*CK READ THE BRIEFING?!" and if the map has an option for in-game booting, they boot you. I think it can be understandable if you really hugely lag and it would take forever to dl the map, but they could just boot you.

I kinda agree, but if you lag youll have a little trouble finding another game.

If somebody downloads a map it can also you may also be taken for a newb, some people like to play with others who have experiance in a certian map. (yeh there are like 50 versions of a single map)

3. Make friends. LOTS of friends, so they don't ban you.
4. Keep saying "Hey I thought I had this map!" over and over. It always tricks em. :D
5. NEVER NEVER NEVER change ure screen name. Keep ure same account.

The "I thought I had this map" works very good, but it still don't fool experts. Friends... I don't know about that. I have a school friend who plays on SC a lot but I'm not gonna wait half an hour for him to dl. I just ban him after ppl realyy start to complain. Faster connection - Getting broadband soon! Still, these don't work generally anyway apart from the friends and the "I thoght I had" because you get a rep as a lag after a while. Find a clan is probably the best way. You can play all you like and you are never, ever banned.

I think the most important thing is to talk (intelligently) in the waiting room. You are no longer an anonymous screen name being banned, but an actual person.

For example, in Millgram's experiments with comformity, Millgram had volunteers shock other volunteers (they were actually actors pretending to be shocked, but the volunteers didn't know that) when they got a question wrong. Every shock would be 15 volts higher than the last, and the shocks went as high as 150 volts (I think) which was labelled "Extremely Dangerous". Ha, whats even MORE annoying, is when you make a complicated game, that requires people to read the briefing, then everyone skips it, then asks "htf do you play?" When i say like 14 times in the waiting room "Read the briefing everyone or you will be lost." They ban you often because not just because they think "OMG! A NEWB! HE WILL KILL US ALL! HE WILL ASK TO MANY QUESTIONS!", but rather your dl no mater how fast is an inconveinece to them. People in america these days, I am one, and sorry if I offend any other americans, have in our lives, some stuff we need, and some stuff we dont. Too often, we put in too much of the stuff we dont need, then we race around, trying to get that ll done, plus stuff we need. We are so inconsiderate this day in age, that our oh so precious time, is so important to us, we would'nt spare a poor sap a second of our time to save someone's life. Many of us have gotten VERY greedy, and selfish. This does not only apply to americans, I have seen many other people act like this too. No race is exempt from this. People for the most part just don't really see what they are doing as wrong sometimes, and what's worse, even when they do, they just dont care. They could'nt give one damn less about someone they never met before. It's kinda sad to think We all, as (heavens forbid, a bible related opinion in america! oh no) God's children cant spare a minute of our lives to extend some decency to a fellow person. One we may have never met before, but that still in no way, takes away from the fact that there is still a human being on the other side of that line that you are shutting out just because it would be a minor "inconveinence" to you. Ok, now I'm just sick.

First of all, I know what kids around detroit(where I grew up) were like when they were 14, second, it was a generalization, not a stereotype. I wanted to go lower like 10, but i was using this, not picking any peticular age bracket, but just that they were acting too immature for their age is what I was getting at. You make a map and want people to play it, you haven't uploaded it somewhere else and you ban the people who try to download it because you are afraid of....SIC! Wasting time....then you end up with no players...ah, the luxury of impatience!...or more like the backside of. Bah. It isn't that damn crisis, when you don't give them a chanche to finish downloading it the lag will never happen again, so all you need is PATIENCE. ARGH! ARGH!!!! That dosn't really make sense? I make a map so somebody else will make the same map? Also not everybody who plays on battle.net makes a habit of browsing through all the SC fan sites for map dls.

And finally yes there are some impatient people out there, there are even people who will leave a room if they have to dl. They may want a fast game because tehy have an exam in a few hours and want to relive their mind of studying 5 text books that contridict each other so that no matter what which one you study the exam is going to make you want to shoot yourself, if not suicidal then shoot the fricking paper and the technician who fixed the printer that printed out the exam...

I think they have every right to do so, but they should really think for eight seconds, because it's likely (with the fast download rates and small map sizes) that you'lll have the game fill up faster if you let people download, rather then waiting till you find 1-7 others that already have this exact same map, version of map. One of the things that bugs me, is that I have something like 999 versions of really stupid money maps that some noob made and then when I asked if it was a money map they said "No"....want to strangle those people. That say it's not a money map, you only have 35 mineral spots with 15k mineral each.

You're right. There are no immature kids in college. But there are a large number of immature college students in college who will do the same thing.

As for banning for downloading, I really dislike people that practice that. Having 56k, I frequently am on the bottom end of the ping, however I do not lag very much in a normal game. But since 56k takes time to download on, I almost always get banned. And as several people have said, you usually don't have the map only because someone edited it and made their own version. Another reason to protect your maps.

Theres another view on this that also pisses me off. Its the map stealers. You create a game, and it fills up. A bunch of people are dling the map, but as soon as they finish they leave! wtf?!?! If they want the map, why dont they stay in your game and play it!?!? That doesnt make sense either.

Well i think it wud be justified. for example take this situation uve been playing new sunken defence for 10 games now and u always lose cuz some stupid n00b forgot to mine the dumb gas. id be pretty pissed off and so id like to stay away from n00bs and dling a map usually means u havent played the map = n00b. so just to be safe... BAN! i kno some ppl might have played it and are realli good but most of the time theyre not. if say we were all pros and lost cuz the level was too hard and everyone did very well with lots of upgrades and units and sunkens yet still lsoe..... id be disappointed but a gg nonetheless. i hate it when n00bs ruin games its not gg anymore its bs. thats my 2 cents.

Ok a map dl can usually mean there is a newb about, but there are over 500+ sunken D maps. It is kinda impossible to expect somebody to own them all. Also all sunken Ds play in basically the same way don't they? Build sunkens?

What I hate are sniper newbs! God damn it! Can't expect everyone to be good but under 10 kills in half an hour is a joke.

Also sometimes you have to ban somebody to even up team games.

Wow, you would'nt like me then, the last time i played sniper paintball, i lost like 40 times in a row because i could NEVER GET OFF A SINGLE DAMN SHOT! Even thouh i click on somebody, they shoot me first. Every damn time. After those 40 loses, i threw my laser mouse at the monitor and gave it up. Nether monitor or mouse has worked since.

Pthhh paintball. Bald/AOD is the shit. There are alot of SC 'Sniper' clans who worship these maps. I am thinking they have secret training programs where they share luring techniques and teach how to effectivley use for of war and corners. Damn Koreans!
