As someone who lays a hand in most popular games whether they be this or that, I tried out the C&C3 demo some months ago, and didn't like it much.
Just as it would have appeared that I'll skip this game, some people I know told me (repeatedly) that I should get C&C3. So I got it, expecting to play it with them a few times and shelve it.

I was wrong.

After playing C&C3 for a while I realized that my initial impression of the game was highly incorrect. This probably has to do with the recent patch, 1.05, that drastically improved the game, but overall - C&C3 is not just what I first thought it was.

No, it's not just tankspam. Shocking surprise, the game is much deeper than that. Expansion timing, correct unit management, static micro, harassment, thinking ahead of your opponent... I found all those and more to play a reasonable role in the game, which resulted in a very entertaining playing environment.

Now, I wrote some negative comments towards C&C3 in the past. So I'd like to correct myself; I was wrong, the acting on the cutscenes isn't THAT bad (although it is silly at points...), and the game itself isn't as linear or dull as the short duration playing it initially made me think. It's a good game that's worth getting; if you're willing to spend a few hours to learn to play it correctly, you will later on enjoy it for countless hours.

That's my de-rant. Feel free to comment if you have C&C3 and/or planning to buy it.
