DISCLAIMIER:On NO MEANS AM I ASKING FOR UNPROTECTION!!
Just wanted to make it clear :P.
Is there a way to view protected maps without unprotection? I merely wanna see the unit/spell/abilites/item stats and triggers to see how people peform there maps.I checked tools btw and couldnt find anything. Thx a bunch ~ Driver

No. The reason your map editor can't load it is because of missing editor data, most likely because of optimization.

Thats like asking if you can crack a safe without the code. If you can view a protected map in the editor it is then unprotected.

Having a SC-BW mapping background I know that there is an application that allows you solely to see the map's triggering (aka Trigger Viewer (http://up.kupatrix.com/f/9/Programs/Trigger_Viewer_1.08.rar)), even if the map's protected/optimized. Since 'Driver comes from a similar background I suspect that he thought that there would be a similar thing in WC3-TFT mapping. ;)

So the final ansver is:You can't in any way see unprotected maps, unless you know the code. Then how do you unprotect it?

That is a question we are very unlikely to be answered in these forms. There are forms out there for unprotection/protection but, the subject is pretty much taboo here.

Exatcomundo :P .Exactly why i created this thread. But the triggers are easy enough,so i would hope that there was a stat viewer of some sort.:concern:

Haha, if all you're looking for is the TRIGGERS, you can open the map in Jass Shop Pro. Of course, because it is a protected map, the .j file, which is jass converted anyway, will likely be one solid wall of text 8000+ lines long with weird names for everything. Beleive me, that stuff is a pain to sort through.

For object data, you will have to get actual deprotection skill.
