Holy crap, coming from GA im going to believe it. I've always doubted transformers, will it suck like a normal movie made from comics (or what they call it) or will it really be the movie of summer 2007.

Now im sure. I will kill the people administrating local cinema. If they don't put it up until next Wednesday.

Funny, Full of Action, Funny, Alot of people running and screaming around. Helpless beings.

"Freedom is the right of all sentient beings." ~Optimus Prime

Awesome. Reminded me again to name my son Optimus Prime.

Sensational, a fun ride. Saw it in the theater 2 days ago. Of course, it was over the top. Of course, it was cheesy. Of course, the script was lame. Of course, the plot has more holes than a hunk of Swiss cheese.
But hey, that's not what this movie is all about!

Great action scenes, amazing special effects and explosions. Lots of 'em. The makers really did what they do best. CGI was fabulous.

I wouldnt' give it a 5/5 though. Mebbe a 7.4/10

I have to agree with the upper guys.

I went the the theater thinking it COULD be good and it COULD be very bad...

Lets just say it was EXCELLENT (something I didn't expect).

Hell, I don't even like the Transformers that much and I enjoyed it. There's PLENTY of teenage hilarious moments (remember in his bedroom?!?!? LMFAO you know what I'm talking about!)

Seriously, go out and see it IN theaters. Even if you're not a fan, it is worth EVERY penny (I'm probably going to see it at least ONE more time in theaters).

Yeah, it was a great movie. My only problem was it was too "End-game", if you know what I mean. Fro its end you cant realy connect it too any of the other series, mainly because Megatrons dead.

Um, wow. It's a movie about giant feuding robots that copy and camoflauge based on indigenous machines. Could you please explain how that could be done "subtly?" It seems to me you were expecting some kind of neat sci-fi plot based on a deep, intricate storyline. It's Transformers, what do you want? I'm a critic, but I know when to shut up and have fun.

If you read the wiki (though we all know how credible wiki is) it states that there are at least two sequels planned. Hyperlink (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transformers_%28film%29#Sequels).

Anyways, I'm torn on sequels though. The movie was so amazing that I'm unsure if they can top it and make the second one even better. With this one they had the element of surprise because no one was expecting what they saw (I sure wasn't).

The movie itself was, in my opinion, was the best film ever made. It literally changed my life. My friend I went with has a black mustang and we were hoping it would transform and destroy the guy that cut us off. I almost cried at the end (not because of the plot or anything, I don't cry because of that), I nearly cried because of how epic of a win that movie was.

Side note, anyone see that preview that looks like it might be Godzilla 2? Hyperlink 2 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cloverfield).

I thought Transformers was a really entertaining movie. There were some loose strings at the end, and it was a little cheesy, but we're talking about Transformers here. What do you expect? I'd watch it again in a month or so.

ClintonM
07-08-2007, 3:32 PM
I didn't think it was cheesy at all, and where were there holes in the storyline?

People are digging too deep into the movie to enjoy it, the storyline is simple and there are NO holes at all. Everything is explained and the script is excellent (how was anything done/said cheesy?).

"Hey Mammy!"

... OMFG you know what I'm talking about ;). That part was hillarious! ^^

My brother and I are going to go see it again soon!

Dude, I agree it is fun to watch ONCE: effects are great, fast-paced action... Sure...
But, you just have to admit: the idea of "Megatron, leader of the Decepticons from planet Cybertron is fighting an epic battle with Optimus Prime and his allied Autobots" just sounds perfect... for an audience of MAX 10-year-olds.

All I have to say to add to this subject is that they filmed two of the three coolest airplanes ever within the first hour... Made my day

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/b2/V-22_Osprey_tiltrotor_aircraft.jpg

If only they had used an SR-71 instead of a predator, then they'dve had all three

Did anybody else notice when the soldiers ran into the Middle Eastren Village a bunch of people ran out of the mosque with AK-47s and RPGs? :P Seriously its right up there with Live Free or Die Hard with the best movie of the Summer. But 300 still owns it :P

Biohazard
07-09-2007, 2:38 PM
For a sequel they could probably use constructicons, also on the wikipedia it says that Bay was envisioning aircraft carrier transformers. That would definitely be a win.

I want starscream to come back and do that thing where he switches sides, haha. That would be an interesting plot if you included the constructicons.

As for "Cloverfield" I heard it was about a giant alien thing. But I really, really want it to be Godzilla 2. The first movie wasn't great, but (almost like transformers) it wasn't really about the plot, it was about a giant dinosaur thing that destroys a big city. Also the whole movie is going to be shot through the home video camera things, so perhaps if you get motion sickness, this movie isn't for you ;-)

It wasn't meant to be in canon with any of the cartoon series, or was that not blatantly obvious?

As for Megatron being dead, let us not forget that at the end of the very first (three-part) episode of the original cartoon series, everyone thought Megatron and his minions were dead, too. We all know how that turned out.

DarkMirror
07-09-2007, 3:13 PM
I dont. How will he get out of the deepest, coldest part of earths oceans?
By the way, it is still about the rest of the series, in a way. And if it was going to be realy good, then they would have a few things link up with the orignle series.

I also don't recall seeing anything of Barricade after the highway scene, and Scorponok isn't really killed off either, it just burrows into the ground and is never seen from again.

It was a pretty bloody good one-watch movie.
Though I rate Live Free or Die Hard a bit better because, well, the badass humour is just too awesome.

And I'm putting 300 above both. It had soooooo heavy pure badass content that, well, it is second only to Dr Strangelove (which gg's just about everything and everyone).

I had no real complaints about the movie though. It was uber worth the watch. I wouldn't give it a score of x/0 but 9/10 seems appropriate.

Note that Dr Strangelove is the only movie that I've ever seen upon which I would place the score of 'divide by zero'. Peter Sellers has mythic win.

it was so good i saw it 3 times in a row.(actually, now I think about it you don't see what happens to Barricade. ecyor0
07-20-2007, 11:52 PM
No no, you do see him - if you stay at the end for the credits you get to see a 5-second clip of Starscream blasting out of the atmosphere into deep space. So that's not probably - that's definitely.

Fair enough - it really is a movie that deserves watching at least twice.

That last fight scene especially is REALLY confusing (as it should be, 'coz that's how battles are - its so noisy and messy that no-one knows exactly what's going on at the time)

Fun fact: if 10 is the best, technically 11 is worse. :P

EvilEmpire
07-21-2007, 6:56 AM
Not really. Because 11 is more than 10 and its off the scale, to be exact, above the scale which means more than the best.
But of course now you'll say how funny you are and that we're (I am, or "people in this thread are") arguing about silly things, emphasizing on your awesomeness expressed by the fact that you knew you'll start such a silly discussion and also knew that there were always people that will "fall for it", further expanding your forum awesomeness, irreversibly adding to your reputation as a smart, clever and yet very funny persona.
But thats just a speculation. :P

Don't try to out-bullshit me. You will lose. If 10 is the best, anything other than 10 is not the best. It doesn't matter if it's one, nine, or five hundred billion. None of those are 10, thus are inferior.

I never said "if 10 is the best I give it 11". As the forward slash in most cases implies just that I will do my best not to go down in flames but gracefully do an emergency landing in bullshit woodland.

--
gg no re, warinserbia, although F-18 isn't stealth. I recall a F-117 "disappearing" in the mountains however.
But there always be B-2s with the 900Kg pieces.

By the way the projection of the movie stopped right in the middle of it and some dude popped up and said that the reel boy will bring the rest of the reel soon. LOLWTF? reel boys are those young and skinny dudes that carry the reel through different cinemas in town. On a bike. Its fucking misery here.
