View Full Version : Level 70... Now what?

I finally dinged level 70 today on my Mage (after a hell of a lot of months) and now I'm kinda at a loss as to what to do. I know I want to start raiding definitely, but my gear is rather... lacking. It's mostly quest items or greens.
Any suggestions as to what to do now?
Get money, go to the auction house, buy the most decent gear you can get, and THEN start raiding.

I would've suggested to run UBRS daily, but wait..fucking BC!
I have no clue.

...Says the guy on an internet forum.
"Go out and get some REAL friends. Get a life!"
Anyway, I've started doing some of the high level instances and trying to get good gear whilst doing the Kara key quest. It's a lot of fun! :D

You can PVP on any server. But yeah work up honor and arena points. Good gear there :D

either go run instances like black morras or some other lvl 70 ones to get gear or go and have fun in the arena you can get raiding quality gear from it. once that is done work on heroics and gear up

go do the old instances...they will be tons easier for a level 70.
that way you make lot of money and might find kind of good gear.

Well, I'm specced Fire and I hate Frost (levelled all the way to 70 with it and then discovered my error) so Arena's aint really an option.
And Zerg, please piss off. Bloody 12 year olds.

I havent taken a toon to 70 yet, the game is a lot more casual for these days, but getting to 60 before BC was sort of the same thing. 60 now what, after a month or so though I had the feeling that the game didn’t really start until I reached 60.
You need to find your core group, then do a 5 man or a few everyday, it’s much easier to get a skilled core group in to an accomplished and highly active guild than it is a single player.

IMO, WoW was much more interesting Pre-BC.
MC, BWL and all those instances were much better than Kara or w.e.

1) Run shadowlabs. Greatsword of Horrid Dreams is awesome.
1b) on the way, get a good mage necklace and wand (ogre boss)
2) Get a good offhand. Saga of Terokk works fine.
3) Get your sword enchanted
4) Get Bloodfire Robes of Annihilation from Mechanar (the chest)
5) Do quests in shadowmoon, get your Kharazan key
6) PVP if you're bored, save for any epic 70 pieces you don't have decent slots for.

Reroll a twink and own anything in sight in the battlegrounds? :P
That's what I'd do.

Alright, well, I've signed up to a raiding community. They want me to register to their DKP. I know it stands for Dragon kill Points but, er, what exactly does that mean...?

What happens when you hit 70? You stop playing World of Warcraft and start playing World of Rep-craft. Grind all the rep you can, it'll help you out in the long run.

Meh.
Once players max out their level on their alt they go on raids. They go on raids because they want better gear. They want better gear so they can participate in even bigger raids to get better gear. And since Blizzard is content to continue pumping out raid bosses and raising the level cap, this cycle is endless and self-destructive.
If you want my opinion (which, in all honesty, you probably don't), screw that.
The real objective driving the game is the want of power. That is why people keep trying to get the best equipment, because they think that if they have the best gear they will be the best player, with all the power and influence that such a position holds. Whether such beliefs are consciously realized or not, they are universally true.
The real source of power, however, I do not believe had ever really been tapped. The control of the WarCraft Economy. Sure, you have various gold-farming guilds, but their interest is in real world currency, so they're just small-time. If someone were to put together a very large, dedicated guild, then they could seize control of the Auction Houses through economic manipulation, extortion, bribery, and other such methods. And if they did that, they could vastly inflate or deflate the price of gold, and hold the server's gold-farming guilds at their mercy (that is, if they don't flee in terror). And even casual gamers recognize the value of in-game gold; it might be possible to bully about some of the raiding guilds to do their bidding, with the proper persuasion.
The raid bosses will never fear you, but the people who *defeat* such foes very well could.
Then again, its all theory. I doubt you have the time or inclination to attempt something like this (after all, economics is boring), but I thought I should suggest it in case somebody with the appropriate drive and lack of a personal life does.
Ah well, that's my 2g.
