I can't connect to Battle.net, it says I have unidentified version of StarCraft. I've own maybe three copies of the game through out six years and it never gave me such a unsuspecting savage denial of my innocent life until now. I did virus scans, spyware scans, and s. restore so many times untiled I cried. I also exited out of Daemon Tools and reinstalled StarCraft two times. I don't know anything more else to do... ;(

It's also doing that to me as well and, I too, have a perfectly legit edition of starcraft. Are you running a firewall? If so, you may want to exit the firewall until you get connected. Either that or keep trying to connect and it'll let you in eventually.

Oh bloody hel, re-install the game then patch BW to 1.15 and it will work. Play with the CD.
I had a deja-vu writing this. and this. and this.

Had the same issue, I was stupid. Reinstalled 7 times, then I restarted, problem solved.

So restart first, then reinstall and then reboot again and it should work.

I have a problem similar to that, here is what it says:
Unable to connect to battle.net.You may be trying to connect to an invalid battle.net server. If using a modem, you may need to manually connect to the internet before connecting to battle.net.For more Information go to www.battle.net/support/errormessages/ (http://www.battle.net/support/errormessages/) . that is what it says.

I went to the site,it wasnt any help. Also i installed the patch and i am on the internet.

Heck no mate, im trying to hint you that you have to configure a firewall or anti-virus software or a router.
In all cases its adding starcraft.exe to an exceptions list or adding port 6112 to an exceptions list.

Arg, still no dice. I reinstalled, repatched StarCraft and restarted my computer several times. I'm starting to think that I might be force to lay off on StarCraft and start doing something constructive. :(

I think it might be a virus, but Lavasoft and McAfee has cleaned out the little amount of viruses and adware I have in my computer, yet nothing...

You need to open up the starcraft-battle.net ports on your router.

http://portforward.com/cportsnotes/battlenet/battlenet.htm

(that is if you haven't)

Otherwise I don't know what to say.

port 6116 TCP
port 6117 UDP
port 6117 TCP
port 6118 UDP
port 6118 TCP
port 6119 UDP
port 6119 TCP
.I added all the above and they are Checked in my firewall system, anything else i need to do?cuz it still doesnt work..Also im not to keen on routers n stuff so....how would i fix my router or whatever i need to do with it?How do i open my routers?

deadlyfighter10, to make it a little easier, Blizzard has it somewhere saying StarCraft only needs ports 6112 UDP and TCP, but that's good too. To 'open your router' just simply follow the instructions portforward.com has what Neo posted. Or try going to http://192.168.0.1/ to access your router's configuration [More info at portforward.com]. Maybe also try to turn off your router's firewall add-on if you could find it.
Otherwise I don't know what to say.
I'm baffled too. :(
I'm gonna try to do that reinstalling thing several times later on and I'm also waiting for a reply from blizzard support.

O... I just realized something. I noticed battle.net blocking me out for the first time is when I used the StarCraft 7x patcher (http://www.warboards.org/showpost.php?p=455361&postcount=3) thing in the StarCraft Maps and Mods FAQ / Resources Guide, so I could use some out dated modding programs. I really think it installs some kind of old Penguin Plug parasite into each of the StarCraft patches you choose which might be the cause why battle.net thinks that my game might have been altered. Can someone verify this? heh...

Patch to 1.12b with this thing and update back to BW 1.15 from the Blizzard's website.

I don't like penguin plug. I think it's intrusive and the shit it spits out when starting a game is rather lame.

Don't use PP until you're basic Starcraft connects correctly.

I was talking about opening ports for your router -- not windows firewall.
