I made sure I didn;t forget anything:)

I know that there is windows vista. I know windows vista sucks balls really bad.

The biggest reason I may get this comp is because of games like crisis, company of heros, SC2, supreme commander, Maybe for COD 4(if it on PC) and any other sweet looking games.

That is another reason why it has vista. The games.

I think this is in U.S. money and I have to convert it to Can. money.

And if the comp has vista then I can install xp as well? I mean that I have both OS installed and then Windows XP would be what I mainly work on and web surf or whatever. Then if I wanted to play a game that supports Directx10 I can switch back to Vista?

I still have my XP disc from my comp.

My main consern is if the power supply can support the video card(I googled it as well)

Just by looking at it from a glance I'd say it's about what you'd pay if you built the machine yourself.

Nice computer, are you building it yourself? If not who are you ordering from? Also, I didn't see a motherboard listed. Be sure not to skimp there.

As for the power supply, I believe that should be ok as long as you don't do SLI, but don't take my word for it, do some more research on that and perhaps see what nVidia recommends.

For the operating systems, it's possible to set up a dual boot but I wouldn't recommend it. Vista really isn't that bad, you will probably get used to it as I have.

Lies. You either didn't read his post or have no idea what you're talking about. I'll gamble for both.

I've heard that the 640 MB 8800 really isn't such an improvement over the 320 MB 8800, so you might could save a little money there if you wanted. According to Cnet, Nvidia recommends a 400 watt PSU for the 320 MB 8800, so I'm assuming a 600 watt will be fine for one card.

That looks like a very nice setup -- there's plenty of RAM and the video card is powerful enough. It's even got a better sound card that most computers. I'd say the price sounds about right for the hardware you're getting.

The 600W power supply should be plenty to run the video card, so long as you don't add a second card as Jeff said.

Well I feel alot better when you guys say it is ok. I have had my eye on this comp for about a year or a half.

I also forgot to add speakers so Ill just add some 20-80 dollar ones.

A lot of people who are skeptical on switching to Vista try to do this. The problem is most people have OEM copies of Windows XP which cannot be activated on a machine other than the one it came with. In other words, you can install your existing copy of XP on the new computer and use your current CD key, but unless you bought that copy of XP at a store, it will not reactivate and will no longer work after 30 days. Unfortunately the only solution is to purchase another copy of Windows XP. Personally, I would just stick with Vista. It's going to be pervasive soon enough and XP is probably not worth the hassle.

Actually it is a massive improvement, it is just that 320 is already good enough that you don't need any extra. I have 256 MB 6200, and it still out performs what my computer can throw at it (too bad my processor is 1GHz).

I would say thats an average deal.

If you don't need any extra, then it's not a massive improvement. It's a bit like getting 4 GB of RAM. Sure it sounds cool and proves that you're "cutting-edge", but it doesn't make enough of a difference to be worth the cost. (And if you have a 32-bit OS, like the store versions of all but Vista Ultimate, you literally can't use a full 4 GB.)

Maybe when your average game or whatever needs 256 MB of VRAM to run on lowest settings with no frills, the 640 MB will be a "massive improvement" compared to it's lower capacity brethren. But for stuff most games in the last few years, and probably most games for the next year or so, I just don't see it making that big a difference.

Yeah, but cinematics people really love the extra power, so do programmers, they can do more.
