Tcp/Ip

If you read my otehr thread you know that i cannot play online at this time, and i was wondering it anyone wanted to play d2 with me, We would have to use tcp/ip and that if where this thread comes in..

What all do i need down to let other people connect to my d2 game via. IP address.

The ports forwarded for d2? (I used to play sc fine as the main hoster on my frds list, then after a short break from sc..about a month.. my conenct was horrible, i couldnt host or anything anymore and nothing changed about the ports, now my connection is off and on, i can host about 50% of the time which sucksthe other 50% if you can figure this out, ill give you a rep pt

Any thing else?

Hmm, i also play games against my brother TCP/IP and i didnt had to forward anything. Also odd is that Diablo 2 is the only game i can host where other people can join.

Hmm.. if you have a router, it might be nice to check if your connection to it is constant, so when you drop your IP doesnt change, that can frustrate people alot.

Otherwise i don't know. I sure want to play TCP/IP with you thought :)

and i just meant the port thing or w/e incase we did tcp and were not in the same house, on same router or w/e like if me and you played]

Hmm, i don't know about post forwarding much so i won't be much of a help there - you might wanna try and ask how to post forward in the technology annex.

you need to open up the ports specifically diablo, as well as 116 and/or 118 TCP also.

but we cant find each otheres games. grrr

What do you mean "find" ?

One of you has to host, and the other connects via the hoster's IP Address.

yea. bhut the error it gives is "Cannot Connect to Server" for some reason.
