Ok, now that we have one on board I will take the idea of a seperte forum into serious consideration. First however, I suggest that we wait for more members, or maybe start an RP topic here then if it's supported, do a forum. I will PM you Kikobi, and will offer you adminship on the forum. Please, if you are interested post. Looking for at least four, with all of them being possible staff positions.

Has anyone been in contact with the guy that wanted to make the RP? He should know, lets get this thing off the ground ASAP. Before it gets lost in the "Good ideas" list.

Hey, I'll join. Sure why not? I'm bored outta my mind. Gotta think up a character though.
Here's a suggestion: Let's not create a 'closed' setting. Let's make it a little more open, say allow the story to be set on a colonized planet (ie. mar sara), during the period when the zerg manifest themselves. You could play as a civilian trying to desperately evacuate (it's a good idea for civilians to have relatives, a profession, etc... if they're all alone, then they better have a good backstory), a freelance pilot (charging exhorbant wages for anyone who wishes to evacuate), a confederate soldier/officer blowing things under (may have any specified mission, as stated by the DM), a zerg agent (spy), a zerg warrior, or protoss investigators. This is just a suggestion. I don't control this. :P
We might even work out our own custom classes (that is, if verified by the DM). Such could be stealth soldier (if enlisted in the ghost program = ghost... if not soldier, they're intel officers), a plain soldier (with any amount of specialty, 'marine' usually means they recieved all their training in straight combat, making them among the elite 'first in, last out' and thus of the confederate marine corps), pilot, etc. A 'firebat' would often classify as a marine with special training in the use of a flamethrower (which takes a special type of crazy and guts). Special forces would often involve ghosts, or light infantry 'rangers' (often the alternative when not enlisted in ghost program... often light infantry recieve specialist combat training in extensive venues, rather then frontline; 'ranger' often implies stealth soldier). Again, there could be other classes such as scientist, reporter, or detective, or whatever else. It'll be up to the DM whether different classes give you different skills that might actually help you or others throughout the game.
Aight, now I'm done with the suggestions. But wait! OMFG, there's more, dudes.
As for terran weapons, we could have include our own ideas (however it has to be of realistic classification such as AGR-14, C-10, AB-36, 'torrent' shotgun, P-1000, etc.), as long it isn't completely unrealistic and out of terran grasp on technology, cost effectiveness (like say a super mega awesome terawatt laser that fits in the palm of your hand... that'd never work). In this way, we could create an extensive list beyond what blizz has provided. However, only terran weapons are extensive. If we're to follow my guideline, the vast majority of players should be terran. Anyone who wishes to play 'toss or zerg will take a backseat, and might not get involved unless called upon by the DM (of course, they have the option to interfere with the story... it's an RP afterall).
Gun Classifications (supposedly, it still exists in this manner in the future):
Pistols - Small, easy to hide, and sidearmly. Pistols are cool for holding up a bank and stuff if you wanna be cool and all. In the future, you'll find powerful pistols that can tear apart flack jackets, blow away thinnish armor, or dispense 200 rounds in half a second. However, it's hardly cost effective. Some of the largest (size wise) line of pistols, the revolvers, still exist.
Famous pistol of our time: Five-seven, or Desert Eagle counterpart
Famous pistol of the SC future: AB-36, or P-1000 counterpart
Shot guns - Big and unwieldly. But powerful. Shotguns have pretty much existed since the dawn of man. Well, late first-industrial age really. They offer a wide spread, and can wound many people within a closed distance facing you. The advent of powered armor has lead to rediculously powerful shotguns, of up to 6 guage, featuring mechanical feats on comparision of tech with other guns. Shotguns still remain to be 'old fashioned', however. Practically every colonist who thinks of themselves as 'tough' owns one, despite law.
Famous shotgun of our time: All manner of 12 guage
Famous shotgun of the SC future: 'Torrent' pump-action 6 guage shotgun
Automatic Shot Guns - You think of shotguns. You think of power. You think of automatic shotguns, and you think of more power. But of course, the guage isn't nearly as high with an automatic as a single-shooter. Though, they offer spread and a decent amount of power, nonetheless. The models of the future even feature gauss technology, allowing them to literally blow apart anything short of an immense barricade. Hardly necessary on the battlefield unless you were facing endless amounts of an enemy. Yet, only at one point would such a scenario of been unlikely.
Famous ASG of our time: Street Sweeper
Famous ASG of the SC future: Pancor Jackhammer 'Whirling Torrent' 1400e
Sub-Machine Guns - 'Sub' was generally a term relating to hand held. Sub-machine guns are nearly as small as pistols, and so they can be concealed to some extent, and then brought out to spray a direction in a hail of often slightly less then precise bullets. They still exist among civilian populations and gang warfare. They haven't seen much demand in the battlefield, however; except among the odd handful of special forces.
Famous SMG of our time: Uzi
Famous SMG of the SC future: MPk-98
Machine Guns - Machine guns have existed since the dawn of man. Well, almost. Whatever. They're the first official 'automatic' you might of heard of. They can come in big sizes, or small sizes. They're particularly popular at spraying the battlefield in a hail of bullets, however depleted or full of AP, magnetically accellerated, or explodable those bullets might be. Along with the assault rifle partner, the machine gun is the most popular vehicular gun, their power and tenacity and unyielding killing capacity always merging them with machine, rather then simply that of man by himself.
Famous Machine Gun of our time: Vulcan
Famous Machine Gun of the SC future: AC-93
Rifles - Long ranged. High powered. Rifles always beat out the competition. As time went on, it became law for every military of a superpower to own one, and have manufacturing capability. They're excellent for hunting, whether it be animal, man, or alien. They'll always give one side some manner of an edge over the other, despite every amount of superiority the other side might exhibit.
Famous Rifle of our time: Barrett M95 .50 calibre sniper
Famous Rifle of the SC future: C-10 Canister
Assault Rifles - Easily the most popular firearm. Assault rifles rule out every other gun as the standard firearm that every frontline soldier must own. Not only are they automatic, they're high powered. And not only that, they can offer some decent range and some great accuracy as technology has dragged on. They're simply downright good, and they'll always be king among every other firearm, of which is reserved for more specific roles. They come in many sizes... smaller ones exhibiting immense popularity among special forces. Gauss technology, along with every other manner of weapon upgrade and add-on, has deeply rooted itself in the assault rifle market, making these line of weapons unstoppable.
Famous AR of our time: AK-47
Famous AR of the SC future: AGR-14 'Impaler'
All gun types have all manner of loading mechanisms. That is to say, any could be belt fed, clip fed, drum fed, or manually loaded by hand. In addition, all gun types may include any firing mode, aside from shotguns and rifles. That is to say, full automatic, semi-automatic, repeating, and/or single load. Shotguns may only either repeat or be of single load (which means they must be 'pumped', manually loaded, or clip-fed for every shot). Rifles may only repeat, be of single load, or of semi-automatic variant.
Ok, NOW I'm done with suggestions.
Just... just.... one more th...thing - GUH-JUICE!!! (flexes writing muscles) :alcoholic

Wow dude with all that said...I think you should be in charge of this operation. I have a single idea for what the scenario may be. A group of mixed marines some light armored vehicles and civilians are trying to evac asap and everyone plays civis and the military. Zerg and toss could be implimented as infiltration units and such but those people would most likely need to then have a terran character as well. Now although I have an idea I am not in any way asking to be put in charge of this thing. =P

I'm with Holymonk, SS you seem to have the best grasp of this, so I nominate you to lead our little expedition in SC RP Land...
That being said, I think zerg are kind of hard to RP, seeing as they are all controlled by Celibrates/Overmind/Kerrigan, but I'm still looking forward to this!!!
I'm in :P
EDIT: I could get use a board and put it together if you want me too.

You're more than welcome to post StarCraft based RP's there, and discuss ideas. I always love to help anyone who's interested in RP'ing, and I've been doing it for a while.
If you guys have any questions or anything, let me know. I'll be happy to help ya out.

The RP section here is dead, and we need to migrate.

Many of you haven't posted in the RP section, and no, it's not dead. Why migrate to another forum when there's already one here?
Your choice though.

Hmm, regarding the title of the game, I think we need to get the story fixed first before we think of the title. We would have a better chance of making a good title if we already know the story.
By the way, this thread has been dead for quite some time. Does anyone know if the boards still exist?

Wow major necro. IBTL
I can actually LOCK threads and then POST on them while they're LOCKED? That's badass man o.0
Derod, most of the people who came up with this thread including the op are no longer active on Warboards. This topic never really went anywhere to begin with. If you want to bring this idea up anew it would make more sense to create a new thread at this point.
