Hello! I have been frequenting the map database for a while now, as it has a good selection of some maps that I haven't played for many many years. Thanks for keeping it up for people like me! However, there is one small thing....
There are maps (GREAT maps) that I have not played in, quite litterally, years, and I'm jonesing for them again...One in particular is called COLD SPACE TACTICS.
I've looked up and down the internet for this map, and it seems as if no one has it. Google turned up 0, as did other search engines. None of my old Starcraft buddies have it, but it is a prized posession. A diamond the rough. It is...
It's an RPG where the players are the crew of a ship, the Noxis, and 1 pilots the ship while the rest fly in fighters as wingmen to fight space pirates and save Cecil City from destruction. As a crew, you take on various missions that progress a storyline based around three factions: The Militia, The Pirates, and you...The Outlaws. The setup borrows heavily from Outlaw Star and Cowboy Bebop, but it's based in an entirely unique universe.
The great joy comes from the fact that you can leave your fighter and walk around inside the Noxis, and when the Noxis is docked in one of dozens of cities, you can leave the ship and explore the city for story clues, money-making opportunities, etc. The game only goes as deep as Starcraft would let it, but it is my intention to build a map equal to or superior to Cold Space Tactics, one that would take place in the same universe and have the same setup, but be much more in-depth.
If anyone has any old Starcraft maps, or know of people who played USE MAP SETTINGS games of Starcraft, please please ask them. Do not be fooled by imitations such as "SPACE PIRATE WAR" or "GALIA CRUISER", as there is only one COLD SPACE TACTICS
There're also some other maps that I would like (if anyone has them), such as King of Survival/Defense v. I_USuck/U_ISuck (the whole this/that is because I don't exactly remember the name. It's either one or the other) and Battlecruiser Command.
I'm an old school Starcraft gamer. Started playing it without realizing what I was getting into, then all of a sudden I was completely in. Heh. Well.....sorry for the long post, but if anyone has any old SC maps, you would be a hero to so many people for bringing those maps out again!
