My voice is very pop, my play is very jazz/metal, but I want some soul. I am starting by adding some gods of the stuff on my play list. I want some names, right now I'm listening to stuff like this. http://youtube.com/watch?v=XJYUSdX-Rps&mode=related&search=

Who inspired ray charles and stevie wonder. Also, should I get some cab calloway on my list? Give me some names, some tunes, and some magical bass lines please.

Are they both blind, damn that is a sweet sound. Maybe I should gouge my eyes out so I can sing and play like that. God knows those sweet tunes would make up for it.

the video wouldn't load...

anyway, soul is my fav genre. My all-time favorite is by far otis redding. although his songs tend to be a bit more sorrowful. gladys knight would be my 2nd. she packs a muthufruckin punch with that voicebox. she's got a nice girl's heart, too. oh, and dont forget the temptations! they're so awesome. they're like the beatles of soul, imo. They are a must have. ill post more when I think of the good ones...

is earth wind and fire considered soul?

btw i think marvin gaye is abit overrated
