I recently uninstalled Starcraft because of my inability to play on battle.bet when the new patch (1.15) came out. Did some nasty stuff with my original files instead of making a new directory like the smart people here.

Well anyways, I don't have admin privs so when I reinstall I get an error message about not being able to add certain things to the registry on my computer.

Any tricks anyone knows of to work around this?

net user administrator *
does not work...

Try logging in on a diff. account on the PC, setting your account to Administrator, and then install. Or make a new acct. for Admin priveleges.
Easy workaround, PM me if you need a hand.

You can override Administrator control and become an Admin on a Windows 2000 PC (assuming our operating system here...) by:

WARNING: I accept no responsibility for lost data, users and accounts lost when performing this 'operation'.

Before you start:

Make sure that the network cables to your computer are unplugged and that any wireless networks are disconnected!!

1. Right clicking My Computer and selecting Manage.
2. Select System Tools and then go to Local Users and Groups.
3. Select Groups in the list.
4. Right-click your username and then click Properties.
5. On the Member Of tab, select Add and then select Administrators.
6 Exit all applications and restart.

REMEMBER: The Administrator on your system or network may have disabled this method so it is advised that you make a backup of your stuff. This may take a while but you could loose it all!!! If all goes wrong and your system doesn't let you in, follow these steps to restore the settings to what they were before:

1.Click Options, and then click Print to print these instructions. They will not be available after you shut down your computer in step 2.

2.Click Start, and then click Shut Down.
3. Click Restart, and then click OK.
When you see the message Windows Loading or the computer is loading press F8.
3. Use the arrow keys to highlight Last Known Good Configuration, and then press ENTER.
NOTE: NUM LOCK must be off before the arrow keys on the numeric keypad will function.

This should restore the accounts to their default settings.

For more operationg systems you may need to refer to the manuals built in or get an admin to install it for you.

Running Windows XP home edition.
Cannot select Local users/Group becuase there is no option there (assuming only an administrator has that option)
Cannot create/add a new user because I am not an admin
Cannot open the console (type 'MMC' in MS-DOS) and add a snap in because im on home edition.

If anyone else has anymore ideas, please feel free to inform me.
