Tips for necro?

K, so I started a necromancer and I'm not sure what's the best way to go I mean what skills to get and what weapons should i look for.

Any help is greatly appreciated :)

There are three main ways to play a necromancer -
Summons: Wipes floor, but extremely boring imo
Bone: Pretty much owns and fun :D
Poison: Hard to play but thus more rewarding :o

All builds are pretty simple. #1: 20 points into skeletons and skeleton mastery, get a golem and a point in Summon Resist.
#2: 20 Teeth, 20 Bone Spear, 1 Armor, 5~ Bone Wall, 20 Bone Prison.
#3: Max all three poison skills and get a point in Lower Resist. (take note that having 13 Poison Dagger and 13 Poison Explosion is more effective then having 10 Poison Dagger, 10 Poison Explosion and 1 Lower Resist so you might want to hold it off until later.)

Now, are there any specific items i should be looking for?

+skill to bone spear, as that would be your main offense
+mana after each kill, so that you won't have to bother with potions too much
+Life items never hurt
+speed boots will help you as much as anybody else (which is a lot)

Multiplayer doesn't work for me so... meh i intend on getting another copy which maybe will work but that'll prolly be in the summer :D

I have an incredible urge to say: "You want tips for a Necro? Don't play one."

Personally if you have an interest in building a summon necromancer (no shame in mentioning it) it is possible to build a hybrid. Frankly, i'm a lazy player, so i enjoy building summon necromancers because i can simply send my minions forward and have them do all the work. I can simply cast a few curses every now and then, and Boom! Works done. But if you want to be doing something, it is possible to make a Summon/Bone Necro but there simply not as powerful.

20 Summon Skeleton / or Revives.
20 Skeleton Mastery (benefits your Revives also)
20 Teeth
20 Bone Spear
20 Bone Specter

This lacks psynergy for bone spells and useful curses/skills for your summons.

But since your on single player, it may be easier to stick to a single skill type then spreading out due to the difficulty to gain levels. You will be leaving normal difficulty around 35 - 40. And by then, you would most likely be bored of the idea of starting the game all over on another difficulty.

If your going to go for a bone necro, try white runewording a wand that gives extra points to bone spear.

im not a big fan of necro's, A Bone necro is prolly the "funnest" choice, with this build u actually have to do stuff, whereas a plain summoner stands there...

Advvice for a Necro? Corpse Explosion. Slap it in, put a point on it now and again... it rocks. Basically, three blasts will kill anything - and I mean anything, so long as there are similar monsters around it. Add on Amplify Damage and you're opening up a world of pain. So all your minions have to do is kill one monster in a group and bang! the rest will soon follow.

I am playing now as a summon nec, and I found an item that gives me a point or two into corpse explosion. Now, I just rape everything. I occasionally got into trouble before when I would run into a large mass of strong enemies, but now, I have no problems with anything.
