I've had the idea for this thread for quite some time. I finally decided to post it after getting mad at a fanfic somebody wrote and coming to the realization that everyone has a story. This thread is for everyone, Mods I'd especially like to hear your guys' stories. I guess it could be about how you got here at warboards, something that has happened or that you have helped make happen or something random about your life. It'll be interesting. I'll post my story later.

I have a good story:
Ok so one day, I think it was a monday, some time in May, I was on the internet and I stumbled across some thread where you are supposed to tell a story, so I did.
EDIT:
Then I came back later, after realizing that said thread was a complete waste of space, and edited my post reflecting such.

Here is my story.
Last year in May I was just finishing up my freshman year of school. Lots of crap had happened that year and the year before, found out my mom had terminal cancer right before thanksgiving, I switched schools midyear, and the girl I thought I loved was off sleeping with some jerk. I was what most of you would call emo I listened to my hawethorne heights and I just had nothing to live for. Then I met this girl that was absolutely awesome she was beautiful and she liked me for me! But like I said I was the little emo boy and I was like never again I wont get hurt again. So I went to a place called hutchinson kansas. I stayed there with my grandparents and one of my friends mostly, but it gave me time to think and "de-emotize" self also I was finally able to find this wonderful community known as warboards. Anyways I came back about three weeks before school started and talked to the girl that liked me for a while we talked and talked and we were really good friends. I was a moron and thoguht that she was over me when she really wasn't and so when I finally asked her out I got to meet her new boyfriend. apparenty she was too tired of waiting for me. School started I went to a really small private school and had all my classes with my ex and that really sucked, luckily some stuff happened and I was able to transfer to a new school this last semester. But, to get away from my "crappy" life I created my .org account adn have really enjoyed everything here. This last semester has been fairly uneventful my friends and I have started a band I'm the bassist/lead screamer. And life is pretty good now, although I'm recently single its a good thing because relationships at my age dont really go any where. Now I have a job and I'm just living my life as I see fit. I guess something that has really helpede through this all is my faith I will admit I'm no martin luther but I try.

Heres my story:
So i was in Pioneer plaza here in Portland playing and singing Oasis "Wonderwall" on my guitar so i can get some scrap money to spend on movies with friends when it started raining. I packed my stuff up quickly (and decided to go home) and ran towards the #9 bus. I was too slow and saw the Bus pull out before i got there, so i just decided to soak in the rain and walked slowly. I heard this screaming from nearby, so i look to my right and i see this women getting robbed. I'm standing there, hesitant if i should help or not, because this guy thats robbing her is well an adult, and looks like he weights a good 200 - 220; And i'm afraid i might get beat up and robbed.
"Whatever" i say, so i run down there and yell "Hey STOP!!!" This guy, who's wearing a beret and a fly leather jacket, stops and stares at me, then continues to take the purse away. So i take my guitar case, and whack him. He grabs the other end, and now i'm really scared because it looks like he's gonna tear me apart. Whatever reason it might be, he lets go and just runs away. I'm guessing that even he had morals and didn't want to beat up a mere child in his eyes.
So this lady, who looks middle eastern to me, says "Your a hero child!" I'm standing there, in awe, wondering if my body is still in intact. I turn my head slowly and say "I'm no hero, anybody would have done that." Then she says "Not anybody. Three people walked by and did nothing before you came." I'm surprised because this is Portland, and well, Portlander's are a bunch of Samaritans. I look behind me and say: "Really? Well... Well... thanks."
She goes to the cops and reports this, but the police have not caught the suspect yet.
I'll give rep to whoever figures out where this story came from.

Congratulations on possibly posting a spoiler. :P
I don't know if the third season finale of LOST has been broadcast worldwide yet, so everyone might not know that that is Charlie's story of saving Sayid's estranged girlfriend from a mugger.
Then again, I doubt the average person could infer that that scene came from the TV show that it comes from. *shrug*

Here is my incredible story:
So I just got back from slaying the dragon prince Kel'chuck and on my way back to my floating castle above the great golden lake of Melandrala the largest ever recorded sandwhich storm occurred. I was blown off course by a large sentient cheeseburger which wanted revenge; apparently it was the bastard child of the dragon prince I had slain with my level 7 strike. We talked it over, I was first in my negotiation class at MIT, and we decided that we should create something called the internet so that other people can discuss like we did! After about 20 years of the creation of out "internet" (maybe you've heard of it) I found Warboards, a shining example of an arena of "talking shit over". So I joined. I am forever more happy.
