Ok this is pretty awesome. My dad works for a company called Dresser. So one day my dads boss comes into his office and asks if I would be doing anything this summer. My father then replies no at not his knowledge. Now this is all around spring break and the job wasn't garunteed. So after some reveiw they chose me for the internship and now I start work this tuesday. Now you'd think that a sixteen yearold with an internship would be making next to nothing. WRONG! I'm working forty hours a week and getting paid ten dollars an hour plus overtime. My job gets even better because I'll be out in the lab testing electronics and what not. Which is not very hard to do. So yeah that is what I'll be doing this summer.
That sounds fun, i'm hoping to find a job that'll allow me to still go do stuff with my homies :)

Cool deal. Sounds similar to how I got my first job, only that was at a factory. But the pay was still decent for a teenager.

Sheesh, sounds like a great job. Are you doing a similar job to a beta tester? Making sure it works, if it doesn't writing a report on what's wrong, etc?

I'm going to get paid 10 dollars an hour to type crap... or at least to pretend to type crap. I hope the company's computers can play WoW... : D

Considering how my summer vacations have been slashed in half... I don't think i'll be working this summer. Unless I get something for the weekends. Maybe then I can actually cooperate with our home expenses instead of devoting all my $ to paying for my internetz service >_>

Sweet job.
I'm currently doing software testing, and learning boatloads by the minute. Well, small shiploads. Or raftloads. Ok, I'm just learning.
Congrats on the job. Don't burn yourself out, because 8 hours of work a day is no joke. It's a great experience.

Basically I'll be playing around with the prototpyes and testing them and if there is something wrong it'll be telling my boss whats wrong with it and using my limmited tech knowledge that I've gleaned from my father (who's an engineer) over the past sixteen years and possibly writing a tech report. but the test can take anywhere from 30 seconds to eight hours. so I'll have my free time and plus there is a girl intern thats my age working there this summer too, so who knows?

Well seeing as how they make and design gas meters it'll propabally be just making sure that when both units are combined they dont go boom boom. I start the 28th so we'll see. Plus if I were to tell you any company secrets the other intern would be rather pissed at me and I'm fairly sure you know thats not what we're aiming for. Still I've got the massive amounts of freetime, so that could possibly allow me time to play more red alert 2.

Gas companies have wrathful interns, it seems. I'm not particularly sure what secrets you would be privvy to that would actually cause anyone distress...
