I've been thinking, and all the sudden it hit me at three AM in the morning Halo is like a story about the politics of our world today. I mean you've got the covenant who could either be muslims or the US that are going on a religious conquest. you got the humans who it could be argued are fighting a losing war and could resemble once again the US or the muslims. The flood sould resemble the currentimmagration problems all over the world I dunno what do you guys think?

I think you are probably reading too much into it. Think of Halo as the same as Starcraft. Advanced religious zealots (Protoss). Humans, obviously. An enigmatic ancient highly advanced race (Xel'Naga). A single-minded disease-like race bent on taking over the universe (Zerg). As for it resembling real life...I don't really think so. I mean you might be able to construe the Covenant as the US. A superpower attacking and wiping out/assimilating lesser nations, and then a big schism (Republicans, Democrats). I can kind of see the humans as the muslims, fighting an almost guerrilla war against a superior foe, but the story and the Flood and the Forerunners...sorry.

I doubt it. I mean, you could make the connection if you wanted to and were looking for it, but I just don't think Halo is meant to reflect the political issues of today.

Does art imitate life? Or does life imitate art?

Still...
