I don't know this... but do you think that some member from Blizzard is actually a member in WB? And they take ideas from our posts and apply it on their games?

I doubt it. If anything I'm guessing they just browse the forum and laugh at our theories.

Possibly, if you do some deep lookin' into Warboards history, there is quite a few who claimed they where involved with Blizzard or actual (ex)employies. But they were soon discredited and many were banned from Warboards.

Yes, me.
Congratulations. You blew my cover.
Consider yourself banned from all Battle.Net servers as of this moment.

I imagine that some Blizzard folk might stop by every once in a while, but probably wouldn't be taking any of our ideas and putting them in a game. After all, most of the ideas that the fan community comes up with aren't exactly...balanced, shall we say?
But anyway, assuming that Blizz checks on their fan sites every so often, and I'm sure they do considering that Blizz has hired from their fan base before (see KingArthur of Camelot Systems...seems that Indoflaven also ended up working for them? or am I making that up?), it would make sense that someone from Blizz at least browses fan sites and forums from time to time.

Lol..
Some blizzard guys browze and take all of our ideas... What a crappy game that would be.

No one works for Blizzard, however, we do receive a monthly check for promoting Blizzard games. With the massive success of WoW, Blizzard took an interest in communities and started realizing that we're cheap advertisements for them. We receive free stuff from them all the time (remember PC's free trip to BlizzCon?).
Shirts, hoodies, etc., we got them. AJ / Edgewise receive about $300 a month for server costs / needs (which barely covers all of everything, considering that we have 4 Blizz sites.) Back in February, AJ PayPal'd us paychecks (14 bucks, but it was still something lol)
We do receive a few insider facts, but nothing like new game releases. We usually get ETA's on games, etc, but have a privacy policy to protect them for releasing. It's more for a synchronized news effect (If we know, say, SC II will be released in mid June or something, we can prepare news posts / content, layout changes).
Also, SC.org receives $150 dollars + $1 per map download for the authorized map database that they have going. I found it to be ridiculous, but considering there's a 100,000 people playing SC and we're helping keeping it alive, I think that's cool.

theres propably blizz undercover ppl that there jobs are to look at many blizz games sites and make sure no leaks are going on or they go black mail the admins (example- black ice) and they go denie, undermine, lock or kidnap the user.

Speaking of BlizzCon, I'm thinking about going. The real barrier is, of course, getting to California, as either a plane ticket or gas would cost much more than the $100 entry price. Not sure what I might do about that, but I'll probably figure something out if I really want to go that badly.

bus maybe i dont know the cost but its probly cheaper than plane and car
i might go propably take my bike its only 30- 40 miles away might take a few hours

I think we should pay more attention to Zerg_Eater. He's a Blizz official if I ever saw one.
Ok ..ok ..i'm what you would call a Blizzard employee, i clean their offices and install cameras in their bathrooms so what? all your ideas are of no use to blizzard that's why i present them to the production team myself..for a price.

I'm sure that blizzard has hired a public relations guy who uses large blizzard communities to get a feel for what blizzard players want. So I'm sure that warboards is at least loaded onto one of their screens before they go, wtf am I doing here? These people are idiots.

This dude named SlickR here on warboards posted a series of threads, asking what people wanted in SCII. In fact, all the threads he had ever made were those kinds of topics. It was getting suspicious, so I looked into it, and he refused to say why he was doing it.

We've been asking people what they wanted in SCII since right after SC came out. And I highly doubt a Blizz employee would have pulled out the "it's an MMO" card when talking about the upcoming game announcement.
I certainly hope no Blizzard employees have come across Warboards. It's a nice forum, but the general conception about Blizzard games here is horrible.

I DO think that blizzard has people look at sites like ours to see what people want... but they don't even necessarily have to have an account, do they?

Gullible is not in the dictionary.
Just wanted to mention that if any Blizzard people did indeed browse our forums, they are probably:
a) not willing to announce (due to the attention it would garner)
b) not officially doing it
or c) if they have been browsing, and even saw a couple of ideas and went "Hay thats an awesome idea!" they could never admit, because then it could potentially lead to a legal debate.
However, it would be foolhardy of them to completely ignore the fans and the Starcraft II forums on their bigger fansites -- obviously when they say "the fans seemed to want..." sort of things, I'd think they are getting it out of the forums, rather then really asking fans point blank (could you keep quiet about SC2 if you had inside info?)
XG3 was also hired onto blizz I think, the crazy ass admin from bf, who does graphic design shit (see: battle.net's layout).

I agree with Neo, they would read most of the Blizzard related forums, they wouldn’t need to be a member to do it.
yeah. Indeed, take ideas, especially to starcraft 2 from warboards -> worst game ever made. Worse than 1981 blockman.

If you're looking for something specific, you're better off asking it. To be able to ask a question, you require a membership to the forum.
Either way, a Blizzard employee posted on BlizzForums a few days ago, to thank us for all the support. However, since he made himself public, he couldn't return.

Why would they be forbidden to download maps? Doesn't make any sense. Sure, they probably aren't allowed to play SC at work, especially when there are tests to be run on the games currently in development, so they wouldn't be downloading these in an official capacity. But if they're playing on their own fre time, it doesn't make much sense to think they wouldn't be allowed to use maps made by the community.
Are you kidding? They probably play games all the time at Blizzard, I remember some of them mentioning playing games before they are released (ie: QA Testing and stuff).

Perhaps I wasn't clear enough, but you should notice I said they wouldn't be playing SC at work when there are new games in development that need testing. Excepting, of course, when they patch SC, as someone has to play it to make sure it works. But that would probably be more like a quick run through to make sure the changes worked without breaking anything, not sitting down and playing a couple of games.

I highly doubt that a member of the WB is a blizzard employee maybe other than testing a game every now and again.
