Omg! Is it true? Only a few days left?! Sheesh! Where did they announce it? And is it available for all 3 platforms right away, or just one or two? (Sorry if this sounds newbie, but I haven't been able to follow news on SC:G for a few weeks now, and just now caught wind of this update when I saw 'First new post' being in this 'countdown' thread ;))

Sorry to rain on the parade, but Ghost is not coming out any time soon. Vivendi screwed up bigtime, again. There is no official release date and the game is definately NOT coming out next week. Probably summer.

Vivendi (parent corp) put some bullshit in their corporate report saying that they expected Ghost to be out for X-Box immediately in mid-Feb, followed by multiplatform release in June. Appearantly, they never asked Blizzard or Nihilistic for real dates, or how far along the game was.

Vivendi has been pulling this kind of stunt for a long time. The total breakdown of communication was why all those Blizzard North people left to start their own companies.

It stills comes out in the summer. And I have been wating for this game when they said it was supposed to come out before Christmas. Then it was supposed to come out 2 days ago. Now it comes out in June or July. :(

You'll recall that yesterday, we reported that Amazon is claiming they can deliver Stacraft: Ghost in 2-3 days, despite the fact that the game is still in development. In fact, is you would believe Amazon, Starcraft Ghost was released on 2/18/04. 3 days ago!

Yesterday, Joel R. Durham sent them an e-mail about this discrepancy, and got a rather interesting reply:

Thanks for writing to us at Amazon.com.

We rely on the manufacturer for release date information. Our most recent information is that "Starcraft Ghost" is
currently available at our web site.

It is not uncommon for there to be a delay of several weeks between the release and distribution of a new publication.

If you’ve pre-ordered Starcraft: Ghost from Amazon, you'll probably get a message saying that the game is on its way. If that's the case, don't get too excited. As Joel R. Durham would say, either

a) We're not getting a shipment for a while
b) Someone has been smoking something weird..
