Thanks Spartan for the thread.

If you can't play the beta, you can still watch videos of it. There are tons on youtube (Search Halo 3 beta, and click on "Date added" to see the most recent videos). Here is a thread which has links to many beta videos (http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=10835169).

Wow, reading the guide Bungie posted,

Halo 3 is going to require so much more tactical thinking. I love it already and I haven't even played it. :[

The 'Power Drain' equipment seems like an EMP Grenade basically. It says it scrambles electronics and can 'kill or wound most bipeds.'

Anyway I saw the Multiplayer explanation for Halo 3 on Comcast On demand.

Hooray! they brought back the AR. Bout time. Hopefully they bring back the pistol from Halo 1 too.

Hope the price of a 360 drops before Halo 3 comes out. Or I get a job. Whatever works.

Just finished playing it at a friends house. It's a good game, no doubt. Very exciting at first. I'd say it's better than Halo 2 multiplayer, but still worse than Halo 1's. The pace of the game is very fast. If someone starts shooting you from the back, you better have a shotgun or your screwed. I was very impressed with the needler. It's a very good gun now. But I don't think you can dual wield it anymore.

Right, because being sniped with a pistol is on par with being in Heaven.

Also, I'm loving Bungie's sense of humor with the weapons and vehicles. The spike grenade in particular made me laugh.

It's been fixed. And they've extended the beta period by four days in consolation.

I've been playing the Beta all morning.

I'm loving it all, except the team speak button is up on the d-pad. :\

Played all the maps. Favorite is High Ground, but i'm damn good at Snowbound. The new Battle Rifle is amazing, it's harder to use but when you get the hang of it it's just as deadly as it's own counterpart. The AR is godly amazing fun. It's fast, effective, and makes a cool noise. :D

The Warthog turret is actually useful now. It's really powerful, and moderately accurate. I got a triple kill, and almost a killtacular with it. I was off by about 2 seconds.

If this is the Beta.. Halo 3 is going to make me forget about the world for at least the length of the campaign.

I hate my life. I am definitely getting a 360 over the summer. Halo 3 makes me want to cream myself just watching youtube videos of the beta. Spartan, how is sniping in Halo 3? I hear tell that it's much harder because they removed a lot of tracking, do tell =D

Doesn't stop me from taking people off of the Mongoose across Valhalla, or getting triple headshots on the VIP to bring him down. :]

Also, the shotgun is fucking win. Got a killing frenzy (15 kills in a row without dying) on Snowbound with it. (And Spike grenades. <3 sticking people)

Spike grenades + VIP = win. Instant VIP kills are awesome :D

Yes, like Juggernaught.

VIP is fun on Valhalla.

I had Sniper + BR, VIP (My moms BF) had the Gatling gun, our buddies had AR's/BR's and one dude was toting the Spartan laser. We lost that game because the other two guys kept getting VIP and running off to kill the other VIP, but we had fun.

I'm just a tad excited.

I won't be playing Halo 3 much, since I don't think I'll be getting a 360 anytime soon, but I'm sure at least one of my freinds will call some Lan fragfests.

Spike Grenades will surely be as fun as they sound.

Are the rumours I heard true that they are adding bots to the Multiplayer mode?

I'm just not a fan of bots. I would rather play against someone I can make angry and demean constantly.

It's part of the game, you know.

I geuss we won't find out 'till the game actually comes out before we see if it has online co-op. Though I'm geussing it most likely will since Gears of War had it and I from what I've heard it's pretty fun. Unless we already know that it's gonna have online co-op, I don't pay much attention to bungie.net news.

My birthday's in two days so I'll either be getting another year's XBL membership then or buying it myself afterwards, and I'll be getting some quality time in on that beta. My XBL handle is NeonDolphin.

I've played a bit already as a guest with my brother - my first impressions are that it's pretty good, all the weapons seem a lot more balanced and I like the Spike Grenades, it adds a new gameplay dynamic and makes it easier to hit people as they come through doors (aim grenade at floor, it stays where you want it to be instead of bouncing away now!). The Laser's also pretty balanced, and I love the "Killjoy" sound effect!

Anyway, so yeah. It's very different and it's going to take me a while to get used to it but I like most of the features they've implemented and I'm looking forward to playing it a bit more. :)
