Devastation- Futuristic RP

This takes place in the future, in the year 2369, when the world is recovering from War World 3, when nukes were used. All of the old major cities were destroyed, and the new megacity is just a battleground now. Either working for Terracorp or IntelCorp, or even just freelance killing, things wander this megacity (which spans 400 square miles, yes large) either for survival or 'fun'.

Both of the corporations wants the city for its own.

Here are the player classes-

Robot- Ranging from the size of a tank (in which they are very easy targets and cannot go up stairs or into buildings easily) or the size of a man (think terminator), they have an A.I. They have excellent aim, and very advanced sensors. They themselves however are not very stealthy. They don't need to rest or feel pain, but they do register damage.
Robots weight more, but are harder to destroy. Usually not a good thing to confront. Weapons are usually part of the arm. Maximum 2 weapons. Robots are always neutral. They are also strong, and already belong to a corporation.

Cyborgs- Part human, part machine, these things have more manuverable than Robots, but have limitations such as emotion, muffled pain, and the need for sleep. (Weight should be realistic, but also according to what you are/modifications. Cyborgs must have a certain look that identifies them as Cyborgs.) Cyborgs can have one weapon arm, like a robot. Other wise they can have a maximum of 3 weapons

Human- Regular humans. They experience pain, emotion, the need for sleep, the need for food and drink. But some people comment on some kind of '6th sense' that alerts them to danger (this is in no way some special ability, but it's to be like hair raising on your neck when lightning is about to strike. Cyborgs do not have this.) Their aim is ok (for NPC's only, players will have better aim)

Here is the form:

Bio:

Here's mine:

Name: Holjfie
Class: Robot- H.O.L.J.F.I.E.: Hydraulic Obedient Lifeform Justified for Forbidden Infiltration and Exploration
Weapons: 1 Minigun arm, other arm is just designed for grabbing and stuff
Appearance: Humanoid, smooth features with red optical sensors.
Alignment: Neutral
Bio: Created by TerraCorp to kill enemies

Anyway, this is supposed to be somewhat realistic, so if you're a female character, male characters or NPC's might try to rape you. Or if you're one odd woman you might rape a guy.

Laser weapons do exist, but are not widely used since the Corporations keep them locked up for security purposes. This means you can only use (for now) the weaponry found in real life today.

If you have any questions, ask and I'll answer.

Vehicles- Humans: Can pilot 1 special vehicle (excluding jeeps, cars, etc. Everyone knows how to do that) with training, but at higher velocities has more of a chance to screw up

Cyborgs: Like humans, but better reflexes and more strength

Robots: Can pilot any vehicle, can calculate distance and crap for excellent driving.

Vehicles: Every ground vehicle (tanks are rare)
Helicopters, jet fighters (both rare, but the Corporations have them)
Small boats

Name: The X-212
Class: Cyborg
Weapons: Flamethrower Arm (As the name implies, this weapon is a flamethrower that was attached to X-212's arm. It uses a special tank of fuel that is inserted into X-212's upper arm. Each tank has 2 hours of continous use. This arm can double as a fist for when the flamethrower runs out of fuel); Plasma Rifle (A rifle that utilizes a special "Plasma" Bullet, capable of piercing a tank's skin, but overheats the rifle every 10 rounds), & Plasma Launcher (A rocket launcher that fires clusters of plasma bullets & takes 10 minutes to charge up)
Appearance: Appears Human, except the left side of his head is a metal plate, & he has a flamethrower on his right arm.
Alignment: Neutral
Bio: Originally a feared assassin for IntelCorp, was attacked by Terracorp cyborgs, feared dead by IntelCorp, but was found & "modified" so he could live longer serving IntelCorp.

I'm joing this one. I'm in the process of editing, and getting a good chracter. Just out of curiousity, what is the main purpose of this RP? I mean, I understand going around killing things or just hanging around for pure fun, but is there a mission, or an objective to be completed?

Edit: Character done 6-13-2004

Name: James Underwood
Character name: Uhh... See above?
Class: Cyborg
Weapons: James specializes in hand to hand combat. When not dealing with enemies hand to hand, he prefers to use his sniper rifle from the distance. He carries a small 10mm handgun, and only uses it occasionaly.
Appearance: James is of an athletic build, with dark black hair. He has a cunning face, and his eyes are on of the main signs of his cyborg implants. His eyes, are pure dark brown naturally, and when using his abilities (see below), they turn into a metallic chrome. (The detail and the shape of a regular human eye remains). When using his abilities, his body tends to get a few shades darker, almost the color of cold steel. His veins become visibly darker, and during extreme circumstances, spores of nanobots surface to the skin.
Alignment: Good
Bio: Prior to the third World War, James was recruited as a special agent in the military. Recruited is a bad word, James would say. He was drafted into it; the choice was not his. He was drafted into the cyborg division; an agent for a new type of technology.

While with the Army, he underwent strenous tests and physical punishment. After several months of this, the army began to "install" the latest cyborg implantations. James received nanobots. Cell sized robots, to inhance his natural abilities. The majority of the individuals who receive them have severe problem; their body usually rejects the new hosts, and began to break down, and other side affects. While James did not want this, he had no choice.

James was one of the few that survived the implantation process. With these nanobots inside of James, they could monitor his process, and even control his every actions. The military was able to read his thought processes, warn him of danger which was not known to him.

Alternately, it gave him some added benefits. He was able to lift stronger objects, and jump higher and farther. His reflexes were enhanced, and he could take more physical punishment then before.

The downside was that the nanobots began to take a toll on his body. He had to take daily supplements, and eat monstrous amounts of food to keep the nanobots from eating away at his body. He was constantly tired, as the nanobots used the oxygen in his blood for fuel.

With the nuclear disaster, and everyone dying, the war ended. This resulted in the loss of James's superiors. The link he had with base command was now severed; and James was now free. He had forgotten how freedom felt.

At first, he felt lost and confused, but he began to realize his abilities, and develop them even more, now that his restrictions were gone. He took up hand to hand combat, creating his own style of fighting.

With base command link severed, he was not able to control the nanobots replication, and other basic tasks. They went bezerk, and expanded. While the nanobots expanded, they developed a link with James; almost a communication method. They developed structure, and were able to speak to him. The two become symbionts; they could not survive without each other.

James harnessed his abilities, and fine tuned them. He was able to repress the nanobots, and "turn them off" when he didn't need to use them.

As time progressed, James made his way to the mega city. There is corruption and crime. James, a freelance agent hopes to make a few quick bucks, and move away, and find a new home.

That'll be decided by what the players do. Once we have enough people, I'm going to have the Corporations set out flyers and posters, the player either joins one of them (payed in weaponry and stuff) or sets out and kills. If you're with a corporation, your main objective is to take out the enemy. If you're solo, you kill everything.

If you're a robot though, you already belong to a corporation and basically it's 'Search and Destroy'.

But really, this is kind of open-ended in the sense of what you do. You can sell out your employer, gain their trust and steal futuristic weapons (then lose their trust and become a hunted thing), or if you're good enough become the head of the Corporation (but it can't be a robot.)

And I also want players to develope their own skills along the way. Like picking up hacking skills, so the player can hack into robots that don't have an A.I. Once we have enough people, the first post will be edited with all the information. Feel free to add any ideas if you want.

I didn't want this all thought out, I want ideas from people so they can enjoy it to the fullest.

Yeah, a cyborg can start out on its own, and through either a corporation or some black market doctor have gotten his cyborg status. And question, who wants vehicles in this RP?

Name: Fission Operated Power Suit Alpha(FOPSA)
Class: Robot
Weapons: Fission Guns(Really just machine guns that shoot with a stronger blast), Atom Combustion Blasts(Ignites a special fuel, and it can run out. Can get replenished at certain chemical facilities.)
Appearance: About the size of a man, it has razor edges all over its body, as well as heavily armored plates. It has shoulder guards that can rotate to fire the Fission Guns, as well as outlets for releasing its Atom Combustion Blasts in its hands and feet, which can cut through steel, enable flight, or ignit most materials.
Alignment: Neutral.
Bio: Constructed by pirated parts on the pioneering edge of technology, FOPSA(but you can call him Fops) was built by a team of humans who needed defences to survive. However, shortly before its completion, its construction was discovered, and, wanting the powers for their own, IntelCorp tried to steal it. Their attempt failed, though, and their work only destroyed the builders and their blueprints. FOPSA was guarded by the only surviving rebel, who did not have the knowledge to finish it, but knew enough to activate FOPSA. Upon activation, an error in its circuitry caused his memory disk to clear itself, resulting in the loss of command to protect the last rebel. Still incomplete, FOPSA can still be subdued and reprogrammed, but its defensive systems will prevent most attempts. It currently kills on random instinct, mostly based on moral actions and estimated threat to itself.

How about this - you take the role of IntelCorp and TerraCorp (or better yet, someone else can take the other company). They PM the other members of this RP, giving them opportunities, requests, etc..

In the end, whoever wins, reigns supreme. The last Corp Standing wins.

Actually, dont you think that's sort of contradicting? It's like, I'm going to take control of the US Military, but my character works for the Chinese Military. You see what I'm getting at?

For example, Vhaeraun will tell your character (since he is part of Terracorp) to do a secret mission against Intelcorp But since, you are the owner of of IntelCorp, you may plan something against it? You see waht I'm saying?

I thin you guys hould reverse roles - and have Vhaeraun be in charge of IntelCorp, and Holjfie be in charge of TerraCorp.

If you guys do not mind, may I be in charge of some of the free-lancers? I mean, I'll contact them secretly, and try taking down one of the corps?

Let me know what you think.

Black.Ice
06-14-2004, 4:31 PM
Hmmm.... I guess, you could do that Vhaeraun. The only problem is, if you were a free-lance agent, would you go against corp that you owned?

If you say yes, then I'm all for this idea. If you wouldn't go against the corp, I would just recommend the owners working for their own respective corps.

That's my idea, but afterall, Holjfie has the final call.

Holjfie

Cool, thanks. If you can go ahead and start the first post, I'll follow. I'm sure the rest of the other people will also follow as well.

Just to confirm, Holjfie is in charge of TerraCorp and Vhaereaun in in charge of IntelCorp, and I, Black.Ice am "able" to recruit freelancers to plot the destruction of one of the corps?

Let me know if I've got it all straight. Besides that, I think if we get a few more poeple, we could work out something good here.

No point in waiting Holjfie, go ahead and start. :)

Sorry for the little delay. Here's my character:

Name: Maegtelluma
Character name: Rick Nolchz (nole-ssh)
Class: Human
Weapons: Pistols, submachine gun
Appearance: Clearly noticed, he wears a black suit at all times, with sunglasses and greased back hair. He carries kevlar underneath, along with dual pistols.
Alignment: Terracorp, but that could change if there's an imbalance. Makes no difference.
Bio:
Nolchz was born into a very wealthy family, and lived a sheltered life. His parents were well known political figures for some time, and he had no freedom from their busy lives. He rebelled at about 15, left school, and found himself out on the streets, alone, with no friends in the world. He was picked up by some executives and brought into their world. Now 36, he has been living their life for over twenty years, and has become a well known and much feared figure. He now sits in a high position at his corporation ,however he still works the streets. He is an excellent shot with weapons, as well as being a skilled driver. His only true weakness is, ironically, money. He has been known to do almost anything for the right price, however he has extreme loyalty to his corporation. Many have tried to take him down to no avail, and he has a rather high bounty on his head.

(OOC: 4 square miles isn't that big...thats only two miles long by two miles wide....there would be no point for vehicles, might we want to change that?)

(OOC: To all. In my posts, if you read "David", please interpret this as James. I'm part of several other RP's. and I've used David in those. It's now just a habit. So, when I say David, you know it's James ;) )

James Underwood rested on top of a deserted building in the MegaCity. His figure looked weighed down, and he hadn't slept well for several days. He had been scrounging around for meals, and the city he was in was the biggest city he had come across.

The world had turned to Anarchy since all formal government was now gone. People were on their own, just to survive.

James was on the roof. He peered over the railing along the buldings edge, and saw a few people scurrying around. Mostly, the roads were empty. They were dark and gloomy. He continued to look down the road, when his eyes came upon patrol bot.

A patrol bot was one of the older forms or robots. It was not in a humanoid figure, but more of a mechanical walker. It had infrared sensors on it to detect living objects. Designed by IntelCorp, it was a "friendly" bot, so to speak. If you stayed out of it's way, it stayed out of yours.

The only time James had seen it attack was another Terracorp robot. The bot approached closer to James' building, and he could hear the rumbling from the bot's walking. Although he was several stories up, the robot was large enough to vibrate anything around it as it's mechanical legs pounded the ground.

James ducked back down, resting aginst the concrete railing. He waited in silence as the rumbling subsided. There wasn't going to be a firefight tonight.

The day began to come to an end, and James began to feel the affects of sleep. His eyes drooped down, and everything faded out as James fell asleep. He rested peacefully on top of the roof, unaware of what as going on in the rest of the MegaCity.

(OOC: Just the first, introductory post. Let my guy sleep in peace I'll write more tomorrow.)

2nd Post Add On
(which spans 4 square miles, yes large)
He's right. 4 square miles is tiny. My own city is bigger than that (and I live in a relatively small city) !

We should change that. If you want MegaCity, Lets do something like 40 square miles, or even yet 400 square miles. Now that's mega.

100mi X 40 mi

Then, you would need vehicles. And the population would be huge. Makes it more interesting, in my opinion. What do you say, Holjfie?

Sure, but first addressing codezero.

Obviously you have not read the first post at all, and therefore will not be allowed to participate. This may seem harsh, but there are a few reasons.

1) Either you didn't bother to read the first post, or you did but didn't follow the rules given

2) I see very little punctuation in your post

2nd Post Add on: I guess not... Looks like it didn't work this time.

James awoke with a start, as a large hover vehicle passed overhead. He hadn't realized he had drifted into a sleep. He guessed several hours had passed.

James stood up, grabbed his belongings, and made his way down the archaic building. Lying on the rooftop was not the safest activity in this city.

He made his way down to the ground level. The bulding was desreted, besides a few rodents. James slung the pack around his back, and walked along the street, lurking in the shadows. He did not want a confrontation.

He made his way to the intersection of two large roads, and saw several armored vehicles swing by. They were humans inside, and they were protectiving of their belongings. They had every reason to be protective; this place was not safe.

As James turned the corner, he heard a voice. The voice was directed towrads him.

"Cease Movement, James,"

James turned around, slowly. He identified the voice, coming from a robot. The figure was humanoid, but by the height and the voice of it, James knew it was a robot. The remaining vehicles with humans darted out of the area. He and the robot were alone. James subconsciously glanced around, identifying his escape routes.

"Raise your arms," the robot stated.

James complied, "What's going on?" he asked. He identified the robot as a TerraCorp robot. Robots were generally safe, and did not attack unless provoked... or programmed.

The robot, looked stunningly human, but the movements and actions contradicted what a normal human would do. The robot raised it's arm, and pointed it at James

When a robot raises any extremity, and points it towards you, it is a bad sign. James, his reflexes flaring, instinctively released a "burst" of nanobots. Within a few heartbeats, the nanobots became active and had circulated through his body. He jumped out of the way, his adrenaline flowing; the nanobots helping

James soared across the road, landing on the pavement on all fours, escaping a monstrous blast that the robot unleashed. The robot, surprised by the sudden movement began to turn around.

By this time, James had drawn his hand gun and had it aimed towards the robot head; towards the infrared sensing units. As it faced him, David fired several shots. The red frame around the robot's eyes shattered as the bullets made contact.

The robot, he presumed, could no longer see him. Being damaged, the robot went into it's self-repair sequence, which involved it heading back to the TerraCorp head quarters. It flew off, using it's thrusters. James found this quite strange, seeing a humanoid figure just suddenly fly.

James had landed on the pavement fairly hard from the giant leap he had taken. He felt the nanobots working at his ankles, reparing the slight damage that he had induced. He closed his eyes, and began to "shut" the nanobots off. It was only recently he had learned how to do this; and it required his full control. He felt them subsiding, until their presence was gone.

James' mind was filled with questions. Why were there robots chasing him? Why had the TerraCorp robot come to attack him? What had he done? Was didn't even know a single soul in the city - he had been very careful not to leave any tracks.

With that, James continued to walk in the shadows, even more conscious and aware then he had previously been.

(OOC: Just something else. Note, this is not Holjfie's robot)

(OOC: Sorry for the delay. Here goes.)

Nolchz had just woken up after a little catnap. He was in a two story run down building, and after gathering his "items", he headed downstairs.

The place was a mess. There were bullet holes all over the walls, where there even were walls, as many had been blown clear out. It was truly a warzone, but it was also the last place anyone from IntelCorp would look for him.

It being about 2:00 AM at this point, no one met Nolchz on the streets. It was a creepy sight, dozens of destroyed buildings in a line, with only flickering street lights and malfunctioning traffic lights as any sign of life. He walked down the middle of the street slowly, scanning the streets ahead for any sign of movement.

A bullet whizzed over his head. Rick had spotted the sniper just and time and managed to duck and roll out of the way. He dashed into a building and slammed the door shut, but it just fell off. He bolted up the stairs and finally found a room without any windows. After catching his breath, Nolchz realized where he was: an old ammunition depot. He saw an old grenade launcher, rusted with only two of its slots left in working condition.

Slowly, he crept to a window. After waiting to make sure he had not been spooted, he propped the device on a broken bookshelf and aimed towards the sniper's post.

He muttered "I hope this thing works" and fired. The machine engaged and fired the old grenade into the window of the decrepit building.

After a few seconds of delay, the upper floor of the building exploded in a firey blast. The old roof couldn't take it and caved in, sending the whole structure to the ground.

He grabbed his phone and dialed up one of his partners at TerraCorp.
"Looks like someone wants me out. Just took ou.......made some noise down on the corner of Belra Ave and Peah (pay) street. I'm going to need a little help out of here it looks like..."

He turned off the phone and started looking around the other room. He found a few old AK-56's, the successor to one of the weapons that had radically changed the twentieth century. These versions were developed at around 2200, so they were quite out of date, but still useful. He grabbed one and a box of bullets in case he met up with any unexpected friends on the way home.

It was a good thing. Not ten minutes after walking out the door, several robots sprung out from a back alley. Even though they weren't corporation models, they were still dangerous. They had machine guns, and they started unloading towards him.

Rick leapt into what used to be a yard and peeked over the concrete fence. They had stopped their fire, but now they were walking towards the gate. He ran into the house and up the stairs, just in time to see them walk in the gate. He unloaded with his AK and blew two of the four to scrap metal. The other two came in and started walking up the stairs. Rick shot out a support beam for the stairs, and then ran up them, carefully jumping the weak spot. The two remaining robots came up, and the unfortunate first fell clear through the stairs and fell three floors into a concrete basement. The other was stuck, and while he was thinking what to do, Nolchz ducked down and shot him down.

A few minutes later, a TerraCorp ATV (Armored Transport Vehicle) appeared at the next intersection. Nolchz met up with it and got in, and they headed back to base.

Holjfie registered 3 Assault Bots heading toward Zeta 3 as well. While Holjfie was armored, being more expensive due to its being an A.I., the bots were not. They were cheap and inexpensive to create. But they also had their upside, that being the weapons they carried on their main pod, which was on its six legs.

But they were also TerraCorp owned machines, and would present no problem. Holjfie connected to the Assault Bots and kept the connection open so that Holjfie could register enemies when the Assault Bots registered itself taking hits or detecting movement.

As more TerraCorp Robots showed up, Holjfie also opened and maintained a connection to them.

James was still shaken up from the encounter wtih the robot. The robot had specifically known him - it had been sent to kill him. He tried to shake his mind from it, but couldn't. James walked along the long street, in the alleys. He passed by a few humans who gripped their guns tightly beneath their coats, eyeing James as he walked along the streets. This was common the large city. If you didn't bother them; they would not bother you.

As he walked along the dark streets, he heard distant rumbling, and occasional gunfire. He could only presume that robots were battling it out in the huge city. The explosions and rumbling would reach a peak, and then die down. There would be a few hours of peace before James would hear another explosion.

The day was a bright, and the sun shone down on the city. Despite the bright sun, the city was dark and gloomy. The large buildings reached into the sky, usually only their skeletal frames remaining.

James was beginning to feel hungry, but had no where to go. He had no place to go. He was in the outskirts of the large city, and presumed that there would be more people in the center of the city. He hoped that there would be order, someone in charge; someone to organize. Although the chances of this happening were slim, he still hoped for it. It would be the first step in reestabliishing the human race.

James walked, and continued walking, for only what he could only hope to be the center of the city.

James walked along the streets. He was tired, and the sun was beating down on him. He walked quickly, careful not to make too much noise, or to draw too much attention.

James had been walking for several hours. He stopped, and rested against the large brick building. The street he was in was deserted, except for an old car which had been robbed and stripped of everything of value. Trash littered the road, and a few birds soared overhead. James let out a sigh, as he sunk to the ground.

Was this the life of humans? Was this what was destined to happen? There had to be something he could do...

James closed his eyes, and rested against the wall. It was quiet in the city. He heard a distant explosion, but he was used to that now. Even though the city was like a warzone, it was stilll the safest place he had come to.

James heard a humming sound... the sound was close to him. He opened hsi eyes, and scanned the area. He looked into the sky, and saw a small circular shaped object. James immediately went to his feet, and looked at the sentry robot. It was flying towards him.

Two turrets extruded from the side of the spherical robot, and began to launch a barrage of bullets in James' direction. James, who was at the corner of the street rolled out of the way, into an alley. He scrambled to his feet, and ran down the alley.

He glanced over his head, and saw that the sentry bot had followed him. It was several hundred feet in the air, and it was coming closer to him. James looked frantically around in the alley, looking where to go. There was a decrepit door, and James ran to it. He pounded on it, and kicked it down, and ran inside the building.

He was in a lobby. There was a thick layer of dirt and dust everywhere; the place hadn't been touched in years.

He ran across the lobby, the dust flying into the air. He ran to the staircase, and jumped up the stairs, taking 4 steps at a time. He looked at the entrance to the lobby, seeing the sentry bot enter. James recognized it; it was of military design. The robot was well protected. The design had been modified by TerraCorp. The robot was highly maneveurable, and was designed to take down human targets. While highly effective against human targets, the robot was almost useless against other robots.

James had ran up another flight of steps. He had his back against the wall, hiding in the darkness. His military training came rushing back to his mind. He tried to remember the weakness of the robot, and how he could exploit it.

He waited a few minutes in the darkness, before he heard the humming of the robot coming closer to him. James knew the disadvantage of the robot; it had been designed without infrared sensors. Rather, it had visual sensors, and relied on sounds and sight to track its targets.

In the early days, the robot was used remotely, without any AI. Later, when robots with AI were common, it was reprogrammed with AI, but the military left the original sensors and mechanisms untouched.

James waited quietly in the corner, waiting for it to come closer. The robot was spinning in slow circles, searching for him. James waited until the robot was facing away him. He concentrated, releasing the nanobots into his system.

He felt as if he had been submerged in a well of energy, as the nanobots worked to enhance his system. The robot had turned away from him.

James jumped out of corner, and darted towards the robot. The robot began to turn in mid air, re-orienting itself towards James. He leaped through the air, and grabbed onto the two extended turrets. The robot, off balance from James grabbing on to it, began to sink down to the ground.

The robot unleashed a round of bullets, but James held the turrets away from him. He jumped off the staircase, and used his momentum to slam the small bot into the brick wall lining the staircase. It left a sizable dent in the side of the robot, and had damaged the wall.

James, still grasping the turrets swung the bot towards the wall, slamming it repeatedly against he wall, until it powered off.

He stood, breathing heavily, looking down at the pile of metal laying before him. It was then he realized that his hands were burning. It took James a second to realize that he had been grabbing on to the turrets. When the robot released a round of bullets, the turret heated up... it had burned his hands.

James looked down at his hands. He felt the pain slowly subsiding, as the nanobots worked frantically to repair the damaged tissue. Within a few minutes, the pain had subsided. He stood up, and looked around.

"Wow, I'm surprised," James heard a voice say.

James, twirled around, and saw a man, at the top of the stairwell.

FOPSA's audial scanners picked up the sound of weapons fire, and ended his standby sequence. An infrared scan showed a single humanoid, followed by a simplistic military drone. Its AI recognized the drone as a threat to itself, FOPSA engaged its stealth mode, and slowly approached the old building the two had entered.

While in stealth mode, FOPSA diverted weapons power to the lubricant mechanisms in its limbs, creating a quieter effect, due to increased focus and a more specific level of oil. However, its weapons would not be able to turn on, making it important to not be seen.

FOPSA entered the lobby, and quickly scanned for the targets, and determined that they had gone up several stories. Noting that the elevator door had been broken down by years of rust and disuse, FOPSA entered the shaft, its back dissembling to form several claws, which quickly pierced the shaft's walls. It soon began an upward climb.

As it was nearing Zeta 3, Holjfie noticed a signal sent from one of the Assault Bots. It was being fired upon by a human and a Cyborg, and within a few seconds the signal stopped.

Obviously, they wanted this sector, thus the high classification. Another Assault Bot was being infected with a virus, which tried to spread through the network Holjfie had created, but Holjfie's advanced A.I. easily provided the counter for the virus and it was destroyed in milliseconds.

Then on its own optical sensors, Holjfie recognized a Sentry Gun, which fired at Holjfie on sight. Its bullets, however, pinged off Holjfie's armored chassis. Holjfie's minigun, with the special armor piercing rounds, fired and ripped the Sentry to pieces. Then a human fired at him with a shotgun, doing nothing but registering.

3 other Assault Bots were out of the picture, and a Cyborg was destroying one now. It would be behind the wall on the left, and Holjfie calculated the exact point using the downed Bot's information. Holjfie fired into the wall, ripped it apart, and killed the Cyborg.

X-212 heard gunfire to the left, so it stopped it's trek toward Zeta 2 to go investigate the source.

X-212 saw a couple sentry bots and a cyborg. It turned, and began walking toward the trio. When it neared, The X-212 powered up the flamethrower and let loose a flame which soon turned the cyborg to a crisp, but had less of an effect on the bots. X-212 stopped the flamethrower, and pulled out the Plasma Rifle it carried. It targeted the main AI center of the bots, and let one round off into each bot, destroying them instantly.

Then, the X-212 heard gunfire in a nearby building. It powered up the flamethrower, but left the rifle in firing position, not knowing what was currently firing. He entered the building, and heard no more gunfire. The X-212 stopped, and listened. Hearing nothing, it proceeded to the stairs and started to climb them. About three or four stories up, The X-212 sensed a presence. It stopped and waited, trying to place the exact signature of the presence. When no signature registered, the X-212 turned to leave, when something flew into it very hard, knocking the cyborg to the ground.

Nolchz had not slept well. The memories of the day before worried him, he had often been attacked by a small little group, but never had enough money been pitted against him to hire a robot squad and a foolish, but trained sniper. Although he was worried, he received a transmission from a higher-up in TerraCorp.

"Nolchz, head towards area Zeta 2. I suspect IntelCorp activity there. Shoot anything that moves and isn't under our insignia. TerraCorp Out."

A vehicle had been prepared to drop Rick Nolchz and several other agents just outside the Zeta 2 area. A few gunshots were heard on the way, but nothing of importance. The other agents were known as Hawk and Snake, little did they know that Nolchz was actually far superior to them in ranking.

They were expected to shoot out any IntelCorp activity, which meant that they would definitely be in danger. Nolchz took a nice Koch MP-10 SMG, and a light sniper, while the other two loaded up with heavy machine guns.

"Fools..." Nolchz muttered under his breath....

They moved out into the streets, it being about six o'clock now, and the street lights were on. Flickering slightly, they made an interesting strobe impression, making long distance sight very difficult.

A bullet whizzed over Hawk's head, and the three of them scattered. Snake and Hawk headed over to the right, while Nolchz went over to the left. Snake and Hawk worked their way into what was once an old store, and moved up to the third floor. They scanned the streets, and reported in to Nolchz.

"We don't see anything...wait...we've got something way down there, three blocks down. Looks like an APC. We ought to sit tight and see what we can pick off. No way we can take that thing on head to head."

"Roger that, Hawk" Nolchz responded "I want you two to go up as high as you can without being on the roof. I'm going to move up, this building here connects down to near there. Tell me if they make any sudden moments."

He did just that, running between buildings and inching closer and closer to the APC as it moved down the street. A close inspection revealed a heavy artillery mount on the top, well capable of levelling these buildings. And there was nothing he could see to do at this time, his SMG would hardly dent the armor. That APC could have up to a dozen IntelCorp units, and with only the help of Hawk and Snake he had no chance. There had to be a way to take it out....

Then he saw it. There was a manhole into the sewer right in front of the house he was in. He bolted down and after opening the cover, dropped down into the darkness.

He lit the E2 beam light on his Koch, and scanned the area. He could hear the APC moving along the road. He pulled a set of explosives and a roll of duct tape out of his pack and moved to where the slow moving APC was.

He used a grappel to climb to the roof of the sewer, and attached the detonator on the wall and set a timer. Taking note of the position of the bomb, he went back up.

"Snake, Hawk, get down"

"Wha...?"

And then it went off. The APC fell completely through the street and hit hard into the empty sewer.

"Damn. Looks like they made it. Ready for a fight boys?" yelled Nolchz into his comsat.

Just after, he heard a suspicious "click", and dove for cover. The grenade just missed him, and he got up, whispering into the comlink "Man, this is what i live for. Party time."

Holjfie moved forward, intending to enter the building, when a jeep turned at the corner and zipped down, and Holjfie's sensors registered 2 humans. The jeep hit a bump and landed on an Assault Bot, and the driver gave a whoope. The other human manned the minigun on the back.

Holjfie turned in a perfect 90 degree angle and fired at the jeep. Both humans died, and the engine exploded. But the jeep kept going, albeit slowing down bit-by-bit. The flaming wreckage hit Holjfie at 103 mph, and only stopped when it hit the brick wall at the end of the street. The already old building's wall collapsed when it was hit, and Holjfie was thrown back into the building, breaking through many walls. When he finally stopped, damage reports scrolled down.

(To be continued...)
Nolchz came out from cover, wielding his MP-10 carefully. He heard the hatch to the IntelCorp APC open, and he opened fire on them. The bullets dented the armor, but did not make it through the thick transport. Return fire came from the newly made hole in the road, and Rick Nolchz was forced to move back.

"Rick, this is Hawk. I've got a Steyr Scout here, so don't be alarmed if,...anyone drops."

Nolchz had a new plan. If he could get a few of the IntelCorp soldiers to come up out of the ditch...however they planned to get out, anyway, Hawk could pick one or two off, and then he'd have to count on himself and maybe Snake to take out the rest. Chances were good that they had a dozen or more men on that APC.

A minute later, the first robotic head popped up from the hole. Gatling stlye rotary guns becan to spin, and Nolchz dove...

"BAM"

The robot's head was shot clear off the body, and the whole mechanism began to overheat and it fell apart. Just as Rick Nolchz came out, he saw Hawk and Snake running down the street with their heavy machine guns. Four IntelCorp agents popped out of a manhole ahead of them, and Nolchz, Hawk and Snake all fired, but to no avail. The agents had managed to get behind some cement pillars strewn on the road. Snake's machine gun roared and the pillars disappeared into dust, but no sign of the agents.

"What the HELL? Where did they go?"

Bullets started raining down on them from a nearby building, making hundreds of pockmarks on the beaten up road. The three TerraCorp agents made a break for the house, and beat down the door. Nolchz sent a few dozen MP-10 rounds through the ceiling, and a few muffled screams were his only reward.

The three charged up, to find two cyborg agents heavily damaged and the two humans gone. Moving to the window, Snake noticed that the APC wasn't in the hole anymore.

"What the heck? Where did it go?"

All three of them dashed into the street, but the APC was nowhere to be found.

"They're in the sewers, there's no way that thing could get back up on the street."

Nolchz led the way into the sewers, holding a rocket launcher taken from one of the destroyed cyborgs. They saw faint lights from the APC off in the distance, and all three of them dashed down the way towards them. Hawk and Snake opened up with their heavies, but the real kicker was the rocket that hit the road right above it. The road caved on them, and the APC was instantly crushed.

Moving back up to ground level, Nolchz received a radio message from TerraCorp.

"H.O.L.J.F.I.E is down, badly damaged. We need you three and anyone else you can scrape up to get over there and make sure he isn't captured until we can get a repair vehicle into his area. We have a hovercar moving to your location as we speak. Gather the destroyed IntelCorp cyborgs and meet us at the corner in five minutes. TerraCorp out."

Holjfie moved its other arm, which was largely untouched, but to save energy immediately cut off power to the arm, concentrating the power in the torso and head. If Holjfie went offline from a power failure, within a minute its memory would be erased and valuable components making up the A.I. status fried. It wouldn't be cost-effective to have to rebuild an A.I. The lesser robots continued on, until energy requirements for that grew too large, and the connection was cut.

With its body mostly damaged, repeairs wouldn't work, and Holjfie's chassis was outdated and obsolete.

The X-212 was pinned to the ground by a small bot. The bot wasn't heavy, but it had its arms stuck in the ceiling and was pushing down hard enough to pin the cyborg to the ground.

The bot was too close for the plasma bullets to be able to work, so the X-212 started to punch the bot with the flamethrower arm.

After several hard punches, the bot quit functioning, and the X-212 punched the arms, shattering them.

The X-212 clambered to its feet and went back down the stairs, confidant that the bot was the only thing here.

The X-212 walked out into the street and started to make its trek back on course to Zeta 2, when it heard a soft whirring.

It looked around and saw a downed robot under a destroyed jeep.

The X-212 walked over, and assessed the damage to the bot. When it saw the bot was of TerraCorp make, the X-212 readied the plasma rifle to finish off the bot. But then it noticed that the bot had no defenses and the cyborg radioed in to HQ.

"Cyborg X-212 is in Quadrant Zeta 3. I have found a downed Terracorp bot that appears to be able to be reprogrammed. Awaiting Orders."

"Wow, I'm surprised," James heard a voice say.

James twirled around, surprised to hear a voice. Immediately on guard, James stands into a densive position, expecting an attack.

"Calm down, buddy. I a'int gonna hurt ya," the man said, with a thick accent.

James relaxed a little bit, but still stood in a defensive position. James, shooting the man a caution look, asked, "Who are you?"

The man replied, "I was the one these bots are chasing... I want to thank you for your help,"

James relaxed a little, and looked at the man. "Why did they attack me then?" he asked, simply.

"Beats me. I think they thought you was helping me," the man said, in with his heavy accent. James couldn't put a finger on the accent, but it didn't bother him.

The man was fairly short, but was well built. His posture, made him look like a military man, but his style and way of talking contradicted that.

"I'm flat out impressed with what you did to these bots. You ain't human, are ya?" the man asked.

"I'm human," James replied, quietly. After all, he was human.

"No no, I mean. You are one of them 'borgs," the man asked, "'borgs" being short for Cyborg.

"You could say that," James said.

The man walked up to James, with his hand outstretched.

"Name's Marcus. Uhh... You're pretty nice for a 'borg," he said.

"I'll take that as a compliment, thanks," James said, taking the man's hand-shake. "James Underwood" he said, Introducing himself.

"You don't look like a cyborg," Marcus said.

"Thanks again," James said, almost sarcastically.

Marcus, not knowing what to say, did not say anything. After an awkward silence, he said, "We best be getting outta here."

His clothes were dirty, and he looked as if he hadn't gotten rest in a long time. "TerraCorp HQ probably knows that it's bot is down, and'll be sending reinforcements,"

The man walked down the flight of steps quickly, and James had no choice but to follow. James, not knowing why, trusted the man. It was the first human he met and conversed with in the city.

As he walked down the stairs, James looked at the thick layer of dirt and dust on the ground. "Whoa, stop Marcus"

Marcus stopped in his tracks. "What?" he asked, turning back to face James.

"Look at the dirt. There's another set of tracks. Robot tracks. Something came here not long ago," James stated, looking at the ground.

"You're right." Marcus said, perring at the ground. He followed the tracks, and they lead to the elevator door.

"Move quickly, and stay low to the ground," James ordered, feeling awkward telling him what to do. Marcus simply nodded and complied, which made James feel better. It was always better to deal with someone who followed your orders without questioning.

Marcus crept across the ground, with James to his side. They exited the building. Marcus broke into a run, hugging the walls of the building. James followed him.

"I know a good place where... uh... we can talk," Marcus called out, between breaths, as he ran.

"Okay," James called back. As usual, he scanned the area around him, looking for danger. His military training was proving to be useful.

FOPSA had an audio recording of the entire conversation, choosing to judge for further danger at the level just below where they conversed. Judging by the apparent destruction of the low-class robot, it decided that these two would possibly be enough danger to it to destroy or seriously damage itself. After they started going down, FOPSA slowly inched down the shaft, waiting until they were at least a floor below it. Once they reached the lobby, FOPSA sat quietly in the shaft, watching the two with its infrared and sonar sensors. As they left the building and broke into a run, FOPSA ejected itself from the shaft and stayed in its spider mode, it's claws quickly propelling it forward. It followed them like this, making sure to never be directly behind them, always behind a building, or on top of one if neccesary.

Marcus continued his slow sprint, with James following him closely. "I've been... able... to find... a place... where... robots don't... bother me..'" Marcus said between breaths, as he ran hugging the wall.

And then he stopped in his tracks. James nearly ran him over, but was able to dodge him, only bumping him. "What?" James asked, slightly frustrated.

"Soemthing's wrong." Marcus said, without moving a muscle.

"Whaddyou mean?" James asked, his frustration showing.

"I think we're being followed," Marcus stated again.

James looked around. "I can assure you we are not being followed," James said. He was confident that no one, or no thing for that matter, was around him. He had been watching the area, and had seen no sign of movement their entire run.

"You don't know these robots as well as I do. We're being followed," Marcus stated again.

That was a true statement. James did not know the robots as well as Marcus seemed to know. But then again, Marcus did not have the training that James had. James let out a sigh. "Fine, I'll go look around." James stated.

He was tired. He was beyond tired; he was exhausted. James twirled around, and quietly walked in to the alley and Marcus stood in the shadows. He looked down the alleys, and saw nothing.

"We're clear," James shouted back to Marcus, who cringed at hearing James' loud voice.

As he shouted, he heard a sound. James twirled around, and saw that crushed bricks had fallen from the building next to him. James looked up, only in time to see a robot move across the corner, and make its way to the ceiling.

Marcus was right, they were being followed.

James took a few steps back, and ran over to Marcus, motioning him to continue running. Marcus complied, and continued his run. James caught up with him, and said quietly, "You're right, we are being followed,"

He threw a glance at the building where uknown to him, FOPSA stood watching the two.

FOPSA noted that the two it was following were now aware of its presence. As it was processing this, the bricks underneath it crumbled. Due to its quick movement, it had not yet been given the chance to scan the area for faults, and fell through, getting dragged downward and towards the street by the sea of debris. The damage was not nearly enough to destroy FOPSA, but it had to initialize its self-repair mode before it could even move. It would be a sitting duck.

The X-212 was waiting for a response from HQ, when there was a loud noise behind it.

It spun around and immeadiately readied the plasma rifle, waiting for something to attack him.

It walked slowly and surely, making sure it had sure footing in case it had to burst into a run.

It turned and went into the building and saw some dust settling. It looked around and saw a different bot laying on the ground off to one side. The bot appeared operational, but wasn't moving. The X-212 moved forward slowly, checking the ground for faults. It got next to the bot and saw no code tying it to a company. The cyborg stared for a second and looked for the box to program the bot. The X-212 was going to attempt to reprogram this bot.

(OOC: The reprogramming will be a success if it is ok with you Dark_Soul)

Nolchz and his new crew were heading towards H.O.L.J.F.I.E.'s last known location under new orders from TerraCorp. A rumor had started that IntelCorp was also heading for Holjfie, but Nolchz tried to put it down, even though he was quite sure they were right. Holjfie was an expensive robot, a hefty prize for anyone.

Due to this, they had to move in to the exact location without the aid of their APC. Nolchz, Hawk, and Snake had picked up some friends, and the 11 TerraCorp agents walked slowly down the streets, with the limited comforting thoughts that no one else was in sight. The street lights were flickering, a few were out entirely, and all of the structures in sight sported gaping holes and battle scars.

H.O.L.J.F.I.E. was reported to be less than 200 meters from their current location, but there was no one in sight, which was odd...

Nolchz pulled a strange device out of his coat, looked like a handheld PDA, yet had a bar that looked a lot like a richter scale on the screen. It was a robotic activity detector. Since his crew was all human, the blips on the line were very small until they entered a old hotel. The remnants of a vehicle were through the front wall, and fragments of the windshield and everything in the lobby were scattered all over the floor.

Then Nolchz saw something. A small black box on the floor, with three small, beeping lights.

"Damn!" he yelled. Nolchz pulled his MP-10 and blew the box to pieces. It was an IntelCorp tracking beacon, which proved that the rumors were true, there could be any amount of IntelCorp agents on their way to this location as Rick and his crew arrived.

Holjfie was on the floor, in pieces. Nolchz recovered the A.I., and some of the others collected any of the undamaged pieces. What remained of Holjfie's head was also recovered. The group scattered up the stairs, with Nolchz calling in to TerraCorp HQ for an emergency transport to come pick them up.

The hotel was twenty floors tall, and the elevators were long destroyed. Rick left eight men on the eighteenth floor in case the IntelCorp men showed up prematurely. He and the other three went up to the top with Holjfie's parts.

Rick's radio sensor began to beep noisily. This couln't be good, as his transport wasn't set to arrive for twenty minutes. He darted down the stairs to the eighteenth floor. Ordering his men to put back all of the not crucial parts of Holjfie, Nolchz hoped that the IntelCorp agents would just pick up the parts, not noticing that the A.I. chip was gone.

They heard the IntelCorp crew break into the hotel, as they made quite an entrance, driving their hovercraft clear through the damaged wall. Looking out a vent window, Hawk noted that there were at least forty agents dotting the streets. It was going to be very difficult for a transport to get in and out of here without getting blown to pieces.

Their transport did eventually show up, but it attracted a lot of attention. Nolchz got his entire group on the roof and put detonators in the main elevator shaft. Rope ladders were dropped down, and the TerraCorp recovery crew managed to make it on board the transport.

The sleek black Peregrine Hovercraft was not the best craft for the job, as it had almost no exterior armor, it was made for rapid deployment. This forced each TerraCorp agent to pull their weapons and shoot down the agents in the street, hoping not to get hit themselves. As the Peregrine began to move, the pilot threw her into a complete pitfall of ninteen and a half stories, to just a few feet off the ground. He hoped that this would surprise the agents enough that they wouldn't have time to fire on the ship.

Once well away, Nolchz hit a button on his belt, and a huge explosion could be seen from the top of the Hotel. As it crumbled down, a huge cloud of dust covered all of the street.

Once clear of the cloud, Nolchz radioed in "TerraCorp HQ, this is Agent Nolchz. We have recovered H.O.L.J.F.I.E. En route back to base. Further orders?"

The X-212 didn't see an access to the AI console, so it called HQ again: "Cyborg X-212 reporting again. An unmarked bot has been found and it does not have a access port to its main AI circuits, but it can be reprogrammed. Awaiting Orders."

Almost Immeadiatly, there was a response: "What is your position, Cyborg X-212?"

X-212 says, "Quadrant Zeta 3, Sector X-3954.8."

HQ responds, "Roger Cyborg X-212. Sending transport for the bot now. ETA 10 minutes."

The X-212 nods, closes connection and readies the flamethrower, and the plasma rifle, its senses ready for anything.

The two ran through the shadows, hearing the echoes of explosions throughout the city. There was a particularly big firefight going on at the moment, but James did not mind. He continued to run with Marcus.

After a long amount of time, Marcus approached an old decrepit building. It was an old run down bank, from the looks of it. The front was walled off with wooden planks. Marcus walked into an alley, and James followed him.

Marcus glanced around. He pushed a large blue dumpster, which had been rigged to have wheels on it. Behind it there was a hole. He crawled through the hall, and motioned for James to follow.

James did so. Inside was a large, clean room. There was a counter, obviously where the tellers would be. Marcus, who was still at the hole pulled the dumster back, concealing the small entrance.

He walked around the counter, and James followed.

"Not much, but this is the safest place I've found," Marcus stated.

James was silent for a moment. He didn't understand Marcus, and didn't know why he was so trusting of James. After all, they had met only several minutes earlier.

"Why did you bring me here?" James asked simply, "And why do you trust me?"

Marcus smiled. "Well, you haven't killed me yet, and that's enough trust. Why did I bring you here? I saw what you did to that 'bot. I thought I could maybe... uhh.. use you,"

"Use me?" James asked, slightly confused.

"Yeah... You look like you need... some cash, you know? I've got some of that, and uhh... I need some targets taken out."

James was quiet for a moment, before responding, "No, I won't do it,"

"Why?" Marcus asked, "You need to make money. Use yer talents,"

"I dont kill people," James stated, beginning to feel as if he had the wrong descision coming with Marcus.

"Fine, I won't give you human targets. There's no harm in taking out robots, is there?" Marcus responded, almost immediately.

James was quiet for a moment longer. He didn't see the harm in taking out robots. Afterall, now the TerraCorp robots were chaising him.

He needed money, and this seemed as if it wood work. Atleast, it would work for a short amount of time, before he found other work.

"Fine, one condition," James stated, "I will not kill any humans. No human targets. Or cyborgs for that matter," James stated.

"That's fine," Marcus stated, letting out a sigh. He added, "and if you're going to be going against Robots, you'll need more then that hand gun,"

"What do you suggest," James asked.

"This," Marcus said. He turned around, and walked to what appeared to be one of the old bank safes. He punched in a few numbers on the keypad, and the small safe opened up. Marcus pulled out a large contraption, and handed it to James.

James took the gun. It was almost 30 pounds, and bulky. "What is it?"

"It's a portable EMP gun. It takes about 2-3 minutes to charge. When fired, it shoots... uhh.. it shoots a metallic ball which releases the EMP upon impact. The blast radius is about 10 feet. You said yer a cyborg, so I would be careful about being in that blast radius, if i were you."

James looked at the gun. It was obviously an older gun.

"Make sure ya use that tripod, cause this baby has one helluva kick. Don't try to be standing and usin' it at the same time, or you're going to be regretting it" Marcus said.

James looked at the bottom of the gun, and it had a built in tripod to it. He opened it up, and set it on the floor. He looked through the small scope on it.

"What's the range?" James asked.

"50 feet max" Marcus replied, in a matter of factly voice.

"And it has a 10 foot blast radius" James asked.

"Yes," he replied.

"Great," James said sarcastically. "So, for me to use it, I have to be within 50 feet, set up the tripod, and wait 2-3 minutes for it to charge,"

"Pretty much, yeah," Marcus stated, as if he didn't catch onto James sarcasticness.

"What kind of ammo does it use?"

"20 metallic bolts," he stated again, "and a huge power cell. The powercell has a enough juice to give you about 10 shots,"

James sighed. "So, I have a powercell which limits me to 10 shots, but a clip that allows 20 shots. Very nice," he said again. He was getting frustrated.

"It's the best I got," Marcus stated, finally catching on.

James stood up. The gun was heavy, and almost useless, but he took it anyway. "What's your first target, and how much do I get paid?" James asked.

An officer quickly identified his rank, and gave off a string of coordinates to Nolchz that pinpointed a location. On any map, though, the only thing that was there were remnants of buildings and the occasional human looking for something to scavenge.

"Report to the area immediately. You are to wait for pickup. Repeat, wait for pickup. If you are engaged, reinforcements will be sent. Failure to comply will result in your destruction. The A.I. chip will be collected upon pickup. This information is classified, and any leaking of this information to anything, including fellow soldiers and robots, will result in execution. Do not attempt to reply to this transmission, just follow your orders," The officer said, his voice altered greatly. Then the transmission ended.

FOPSA's internal repairs were complete, a variety of ant-sized robots fixing the hydraulics in its limbs. It booted up to find a cyborg hovering over it. Danger vale: 65%. Target sighted. It aimed its weapons at it.

X-212 saw the bot boot up, and started to look for a weak spot on the bot, while backing away.

It noticed the weapon system start up, so the cyborg aimed at the weapons and fired one shot out of the plasma rifle, tearing the weapon system to bits.

It radioed HQ once more, while backing away: "Cyborg X-212 here. Get that damn transport here NOW! The bot powered up and is approaching now! The weapon system is in pieces, but that doesn't appear to be slowing it down!"

The response: "Cyborg X-212. The transport is near your position. ETA 2 minutes."

Almost as soon as the transmission ended, the transport burst through the wall, and soon the bot was sub-dued.

The IntelCorp engineers started to work on the bot immeadiately, getting the input drives installed quickly, and the weapon system replaced. They then started the reprogramming, Which was estimated to take 10 minutes.

James stood up. The gun was heavy, and almost useless, but he took it anyway. "What's your first target, and how much do I get paid?" James asked.

"Like to get straight to the point, eh?" Marcus chuckled. James was beginning to ge slightly annoyed by this man, but he did not mind.

"To be honest, James, I do not trust you yet. I don't know yer abilities," He said, "I'm going to give you a small task. For 150 credits. That's enough to get yourself some clothes and a good meal,"

James nodded.

"About a mile from here," Marcus stated, "There are two old assualt 'bots. They are older TerraCorp models. When I say old, I mean old. They hve the two huge walking legs ,and they patrol the area. Take out both of them, and scout what's inside of the building."

James was quiet before saying, "How do I know you'll pay me?"

"I gave you my EMP Gun. That's worth more then 150 credits. How do I know you're coming back after you are done?" Marcus shot back.

It was a true statement, and James simply nodded. "150 isn't enough for that. I mean, two bots. I should get alteast 500." James bargained.

Marcus sighed. "Im going to give you 300 credits max."

"Fine," James replied. "Where's the location again?"

"Quadrant Omega 3," Marcus stated, before adding, "Try to be quick."

Jamed nodded, and with his new weapon, he turned towards the small exit, and walked out of the building.

FOPSA was designed for just an occasion, and as the technicians touched its circuitry, they sent a powerful charge of electricity through, knocking away the tools. They could not keep it subdued long, and it still had it's left shoulder gun, as well as all of its(uber strong) flamethrowers. It would only take until they were recharged from the EMP they used to subdue it, which was mere seconds.

As they readied a new EMP to disable it, FOPSA cut through its metal bonds, and fired blasts, knocking out the wall and bursting from the metal platform it was kept on, its flamethrower focused enough to carry it through the air. Its scanners found a life form, and upon further scanning, found it to be the same it had followed earlier. Falling to the ground, and enabling its spider-like crawl mode, it skittered toward it, processing that it may be safer to head towards something that could take out its opposition while it was still self-repairing.

(OOC: Sorry guys, I have been busy. Haven't had time to do that long post as I promised earlier. Maybe later this week. )

James walked down the long alleys. The day was now coming to an end, and he presumed that the sun would be setting in a couple of hours. The humans had claimed the night in the MegaCity. Even though the robots had advanced infrared sensors, there was a certain satisfaction of not being seen that humans received while working in the night. The humans would usually accumlate, and discuss projects and proposals together.

Most of the humans in the city wanted to rebuild humanity, and move their life forwards. It was only a certain few who wanted control.

James continued to walk down the long alley. His backpack was heavy from his EMP gun, but he still walked quickly. He approached Quadrant Omega 3. There was a large building nearby, this one also looking deserted.

The lower walls were caved in, and James walked through them. The building was five stories high, and this was perfect for him to scout out his surroundings.

He approached the roof of the building, and peered over the edge. He had picked the perfect spot. Beneath him, two giganting TerraCrop walkers patrolled a building. What was inside the building, James did not know.

The TerraCorp robots were probably some of the first AI robots built. One of them had giganting walking legs, as Marcus stated. It moved incredibly slow, and must've weighed a ton. It communicated via sound, and every few minutes it would state in it's booming, robotic voice, "Scanning Area,"

The second robot on the other hand was also huge, but a little more advanced in design. It had no mechanical legs, but used tank treads. The robot did not even look like a robot; it looked more like a small tank. It had no visible sensors, and was slightly smaller then the walking robot. The only weapon on it was a mounted machine gun.

The bulding that they were patrolling was huge, almost an entire city block. James did not know what was inside, but he presumed that TerraCorp had something inside which was particularly important. TerraCorp and IntelCorp had several bases throughout the city. Their main headquarters were located on the far ends of each other, and had much more protection than James was witnessing here.

The smaller, less important bases were left protected with older bots. Some of their mini bases did not even have protection.

The two bots would take turns patrolling around the building, stopping at the corners. Each robot took nearly 3 minutes to do a semi circle around the building. This meant that James had to take out each robot in 3 minutes.

He contemplated on how he was going to do this; he had no explosives, a worthless EMP gun, a sniper rifle and a handgun.

James awaited on top of the building, watching the path of the two patrolling droids closely. We waited until the first robot disappeared behind the sight. Sitting at the ledge of the building, he disabled the safety on the EMP Gun.

The screen flickered to life, and James looked through the LCD sceen at it. He pressed a small red button on the side of the gun. The LCD screen flickered, and a progress bar appeared, with the words chargign beneath it.

He watched, as it painfully changed, with a percentage bar underneath it. He waited... and waited... and the robot walked passed him. The gun wasn't ready yet. As the robot disppeared around the corner, the percentage bar flickered to 100.

"Marcus wasn't lying when he said it takes two to three minutes to charge this," James said aloud.

James waited patiently for the second robot to appear.

FOPSA skittered away, a security drone detected just behind the other side of the building, and approaching fast. It dived into the building across the street, and climbed up to the floor just below the roof. Quickly, it grabbed a metal bar to be used as excess repair material, and sat patiently.

The EMP gun in James' hand showed "Charged," the LCD screen. He looked through the small, cryptic eye-piece, and took aim of the robot that walked. Slightly hesitating, he squeezed the trigger.

The recoil of the gun was immense, as a large metallic ball spewed out from the barrel. James' went flying back, and landed on his back, the gun crashing down to his side. James quickly stood up, just in time to witness a bright flash, and sparklying electricity shoot out.

He looked over the edge, and saw the robot standing motionless, with a small metallic ball next to it. The EMP Gun had worked... Now he just had to take out the second robot.

A large electrical disturbance was detected in the vicinity of a security drone, analyzed to be an electromagnetic pulse. FOPSA deployed a small camera, which showed that the drone had been disabled. The camera, which was snakelike in figure, returned to a slot on FOPSA's lower leg. FOPSA still needed more metals to repair itself, ones that were mainly found in other robots. It quickly went to a pile of rubble nearby the drone's wreckage, but out of sight, and deployed a chain, piercing it's armor. It began to reel in the drone, as quietly as possible.(Kinda loud :smirk:)
