Quite frankly, WarBoards' WoW community is rather stagnant and stale. Perhaps the vast majority of the membership doesn't play WoW; perhaps they do and just post elsewhere. If you play WoW, where do you do most of your WoW-Forum'ing? More importantly, why don't you do it here?
Constructive criticism only, please.

I used to play WoW but this part of the forum never seemed to have any "real" discussion going on in it. Since I've stopped it still hasn't picked up much. I think that the few WB'ers who do play WoW, do just that. Play WoW. They don't chat about it. And the ones who don't probably have no clue what an Arcane/Fire Mage Spec Tree is, or what a Lvl 70 Epic Flying Mount is. I highly doubt people will come to Warboards just to post in the WoW section. If they wanted to talk about WoW in their spare time, they'd probably do it at the much more populated and official WoW Forums (http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/?sid=1).
That's just my point of view however.
Mine is still the Official Forums, Mage sub-section btw <_<

To be fair, most discussion about WoW ends up being absolutely worthless, no matter where you go.
Just look at the few topics here. They degenerate from "i want opinions" to "im right you're wrong" to "zomg my character is better than yours."
Also, visit any official WoW realm forum and 90% of the posts are @ posts directed at some dude who some other dude apparently pwned super hard in some situation. Then the dude who got pwned replies about how the other dude isn't so awesome because he had 930248 mobs on him and was at 10% health and got camped and ganked hard. Then people jump in with "zomg pvp on a pvp server."
Basically, WoW discussion is worthless. With 7+ million members, a good portion of them being about 12, you get a lot of immaturity. Your best bet for discussion is to join a guild with a forum and discuss there.

Yeah, that's about as good as it gets, guild forums. It's really the only place you can talk about specs, accomplishments, theorycraft, ...pretty much anything conceivable, without being told you're a total idiot. Even then... ;-)
Plus there's no chance of having content/boss fights ruined for you if to only go to your own guild's forums.
So yeah, Like Scottie said, most discussion about WoW ends up being absolutely worthless, no matter where you go, but especially if it's a public forum.

There just aren't enough variety of posters on the WarBs WoW forum to have much meaningful discussion. If you're looking for discussion, go to the WoW Shaman Forums (lol). All the other ones are just stuff like macros, talents, and leveling guides.

So more or less there isn't much to talk about. Other than what Oboe, Scottie, and Damage have described.
Note: At all.

I prefer Subcreation (http://forums.subcreation.net/). All the forum titles are "intelligent <insert topic> discussion", and they mean it. Everyone's polite, and likes to analyze the game a lot, among other things. Fyi though, if you start trolling, dont be surprised to be ignored. The moderators moderate, but they don't really need to, because noone there is really interested in Blizz forums-ish talk. ;)
