the guy wouldnt stop tryin to shove "Command and Conquer X" down my throat that has all the CnC games before CnC3, so ill prolly get it at a later date.

Played some games online, using GDI, oh god its soo fun.

I've not played C&C 3 yet, but all the C&C games pre-generals (and excluding Renegade, which is fun but schlocky) are, IMO, damned near essential. Pick up a copy of The First Decade at some point.

btw, CnC3 has sawyer from Lost playing a NOD character.

They are similar, yes, but more of the same isn't always a bad thing. Anyway, that's just my opinion, so count it or discount it any way you like.

either way, the cost of TFD is barely slightly higher than the cost of any one of the games alone now, if you shop around, and it's much more available.

HEY!, HEY!, Hey!

Kane is not necessarily the "baddie", he just happens to be the leader of the...organization who opposes GDI and the Blue Zones, which only make up about 20% of the world's population. NOD is in all the yellow zones, roughly 55% of the world's population lives here and are getting no aid from GDI despite their impoverished, broken down state. So who is the real "baddie" here.

But don't get me wrong, I'm a GDI player myself, their doctrine appeals to me.

If you didn't know who Kane is, then you have missed out on roughly a decade of great games. And one of the most memorable characters from those games.

And of course Kane isn't dead. GDI has "killed" him before. They thought he came back because they didn't recover his body to ensure he was dead, so one of the commanders kills him in person in TibSun. But, like any despot with world domination in mind, Kane has a backup plan. ;)

I prefer NOD, but online against real people u kinda need to think a little more i feel, so thats why i choose GDI on there :)

If you didn't know who Kane is, then you have missed out on roughly a decade of great games. And one of the most memorable characters from those games.

I would have bought the pack aswell, but i didnt have enough money for two 99$ games :concern:.

Hey, just as a quick question to anyone who knows. What the hell happened to CABAL? I mean, you figure that NOD with its Master Computer Overrides and what not would need a CABAL level beasty computer to do that so what the heck does NOD have now?

afaik, CABAL is dead, at least in CNC3. There was a mention of CABAL in one of the intelligence entries.

Ability to Spam Units / Centralised Production

Ya know, I don't think I've ever tried tank spamming with NOD, I always tried their subterfuge and stealth tactics. It's brought me a couple of victories online, but many more defeats. I think my strategy was the Shadow Team rush you describe in your guide, just get 6+ teams and start prodding your way into the enemy main base and start wreaking some havoc. On a side note, I wish Shadow Team explosives were more powerful.

One thing I did try recently and came out on top was a NOD infantry rush, and I don't mean their elite, core troops. I mean those militia and rocket militia and a couple of Black Hand squads. Tanks were useless against these guys because they kept shooting at the Black Hand troopers and not the rocket militia (which leads me to believe that the reason I was victorious here was a fluke).

Once again though, I'm a GDI player at heart, and I prefer Pitbull Rushes, Predator MBT micro and of course...Orcas. Personally, I think in a GDI vs. GDI match, whoever has the best airpower will win. Orcas > Mammoth Tanks.

I've got two replay packs in the GR Forums and a number of replays up in the replays section. The second replay pack is better. :)

The 1.05 patch is set to change most of that. ST Rushes are really popular and I think most of the playing population prefer them to tankspam because there's less of a cheesy element to it. However, tankspam generally wins.

The latest fad is spider-basing - abusing the ground control provided by Power Plants to move into your opponent's base and offensive tower them with Obelisks/Emitters/Storm Columns. Basically, the first person to do it - provided the defender doesn't have a vastly larger army - wins. They're also fixing that by removing ground control from Power Plants, which is a good move.

That happened to me last night, im like wtf, sadly i got owned lol.

Well the Shadow Rush is one.

But if you speak of infantry in an actual assault, well usually by late game there are only two options: Shock Troopers for Scrin and Zone Troopers for GDI. With all those upgrades they can get, both infantry can get real nasty late game. I'm really not sure what NOD can do you should as an experienced NOD player about that.

The Scrin don't have APC's, did you perchance mean Zone Troopers and APC's?

Yeah, but they're often referred to as Shock APCs. I used to spam them for fun, but it pretty rarely wins. I find that straight ZTs is better because Shock APCs get owned by tanks, whereas ZTs are more resilient against them.

Shock Troopers are the most commonly used infantry, because their damage can be upgraded so that they not only do a huge amount of damage, but more importantly can attack air. This makes them pretty useful in Scrin mirrors. Zone Troopers are less useful as they get owned by any sort of air-based anti-infantry like Venoms or Devastators.

All other infantry units except for Shadow Teams and the Mastermind are basically useless, hence the large buff they're all getting in 1.05.

Not really, IMO. They can be run over, get owned by anti-infantry, shot out of mid-air when jump-jetting by towers, and unlike the Mastermind, a warning message plays when they enter your line of sight, as well as allowing you to press Spacebar to centre on them when said warning is played.

They're getting a buff in 1.05 though, movement speed buff and they can't be run over anymore, which is nice.
