This has been happening a fair bit and gets verry annoying.
Any ideas on how to fix this?

It might be stupid advice; you could 've already tried, it might be obvious it isn't a good solution in this case,...But have you tried uninstalling and then reinstalling the game? And when exactly does this error message occur: when trying to run StarCraft, going on-line to Battle.net, other?

You know how many times I have reinstalled SC? It always crashes in the game room or in chat.
Back to my d2 problem, I think reinstalling D2/lod 3 times is enough. The error occures on battle.net when im not in a game. e.g. in chat, in the create game screen.

I sometimes get that error when I join or make a game too...
I just restart d2 ^-^
Do this:
Go into your main Diablo II folder, and delete the following file:
bncache.dat
That almost ALWAYS stops those errors for me (though on this computer d2 loads in 5 seconds anyways so its not a big deal, but I know how it is to get that stupid error on a slower computer)

Get another cd and/or computer? :p
Hmm... maybe this could be better suited for the tech sub-forum in the General Discussion, but I suppose it works in both places.
Sorry, I don't know how to help you, it's never happened to me.
BNCache.dat is a file that holds the... bnet cache. SOrta. I am not sure its overall purpose, but its always replaced... I notice that after i delete it, i no longer get 05 errors and I see the "news" in the lobby... lol >_<
Anyways not sure on the other error. I have never gotten that before... O_O

as for the first question: Its a common error, Clearing the Cache works every time. (issue with 1.10's Anti-hack, sometimes it cannot read/fix its own memory, stupid problem, but workable)
As for this one.
This is a Blizzard error. There is nothing you can do to Fix it.
As it says, Could not get act!
Means you were changing acts, and it was unable to retrive the act's data from bnet. (which is possible, errors happen with bnet, ive had Diablo unable to spawn with a "Diablo is Stuck!" crash., and the greatest ever "Unable to Create Charater, invalid Class: Paladin (3)" (yeah, Paladin is invalid heh)
anywho, you cant fix it, blizzard cant/wont untill the next patch anyways. Those types of errors are rare enough anyhow.
You could always report it to blizzard. (what you were doing at the time)

What was I doing at the time? I was in act 1 (not changing acts) dueling a sorceress with my 25+ summond creatures. (I was bound to loose). This error has only happend twice, both with the same character. (I wonder if thers a link there?)
