Is there such thing of an adapter that allows you to hook up your 360 to a computer monitor?

I am asking this because i don't want to play my 360 in the living room during the night (after my done with homework) because my own is much more comfortable and *warmer* than the living room.

I am doing some online research about this right now, but i want to know if you guys have any knowledge of recommendable adapters.

On the outside chance your monitor has direct component video input, you could use that. Otherwise it depends on your budget. You can get a standard definition (480p) frame grabber (not hardware encoding) capture card for $30-$50. If you want to play it in HD, you need a more expensive card (~$150).

I use a card similar to this:

Does you monitor have VGA inputs? Microsoft has a VGA-output connector cable for XBox 360: http://www.xbox.com/en-US/hardware/x/xbox360vgahdcable/

The VGA end of that cable has the pins on it (male?), so your monitor would have to be able to accept plugging that end into it.

Dont you need a HD moniter for the VGA? If not then I think I may buy it.

"Also supports 480p, 720p, 1080i or 1080p"

Nope.

I have never seen a monitor that goes only 480p. 5:4 LCD monitors are generally 1024x768, and CRTs can go sometimes as high as 1600x1200. If you have a widescreen monitor, it's pretty much guarenteed that it's at least 720p.

Well I thought that the max resulution reflected the 480p or 720p.

If your monitor can display resolutions greater than or equal to 1280x720, then you can view 720p at its native resolution. If your monitor can display resolutions greater than or equal to 1920x1080, then you can view 1080p/i at its native resolution.
