So apparently there are now WoW themed visa cards that work just like any regular credit card that reward you with game time for the purchases you make..... in my opinion that's going just a bit too far....
OMG, i want in, sign me up! I want teh s3xy NE on mine :)
Actually its not bad, i dont think its going to far, with X money spent on purchases u gain Y playtime, so that makes up for those damn interest rates.

a quick search for "visa" on the WoW forums shows that most people that sound like they know what they're talking about say that the credit plan they offer is a bad deal and can quickly get you in debt making them more money.
This is ridiculous. It's about time everyone started to lose interest in World of Warcraft ~ it's popularity has lasted a long time for a computer game.

That is the plan, everyone knows the risks with credit cards. Its just they are very "handy" low on cash? whack it on the visa, got no money in ur bank account? whack it on the visa. Its money on demand and thats what people like, just set a reachable limit on it and you will be fine, its the idiots that keep on upping the limit on there cards and maxing it that shouldnt be allowed near credit cards.

The expansion has only been out for like 1 or 2 years, WC3 is still played through leagues and thats hella old thats still popular to an extent. WoW will remain "popular" for awhile yet, they constantly update it, new features in patches, they claim to release an exp every X years. It will only lose players when another big MMO turns up.

Claiming that World of Warcraft is old is definitely made by someone who really has no idea what they are talking about. Think about it this way. Tons of people still play Everquest (1) and even more still play EQ2 and both of those games were released far before World of Warcraft. From a content perspective Warcraft is updated far more than any other MMORPG on the market currently. Tons of content and tweak patches, tons of support and the big, most important factor. It gets a lot of media coverage, celebrities (Yao Ming, Dave Chapelle, etc.) play the game, it is featured in pop culture shows (South Park, the Simpsons did a similar episode, etc.) Considering that WOW has only been out for 2 years I'd expect it to still command at least 500,000 players well into 2010. (Right now it is more than 16 times that figure in subscription.)

Don't you get tired of it's world and experience though? I got so bored with world of warcrafts feel. It felt the same for such a long time, that I couldn't help but get bored with it.

I can honestly say that I never got bored of WoW, I got super addicted, joined an end game guild then had to quit because I would raid instead of do homework (or eat... jk ... maybe) WoW is an addiction, it's not exactly fresh all the time but it's fun and there are rewards for putting in a lot of time and effort and if you actually want them then you'll do it. That's where the fun of WoW lies (and the addiction) there are a lot of people addicted to MMORPG's and WoW is even more addictive than most.

One word: Starcraft.

WoW was released: 11-23-04
EQ2 was released: 11-8-04
I wouldn't call 15 days "far before" :)
Anyway back on topic, I think the Visa cards look dumb with the huge WoW logo. If it was just the art it would be much better. Also someone pointed out that you must charge $18,000 (!) a year to have your WoW paid for. $1500 (1500 points) per month x 12 months.

It's not a good deal, nor is it a bad deal. 1% rebates (which is what it is, do the math) are pretty standard for most credit cards. But you can find better deals. Like I have a card that gives me 5% back on food and gas purchases, and 1% back on everything else, in cash.
The novelty I guess is that you get to carry around something with some cool WoW art on it. :)
Cool now you can Ruin your Social AND financial life at the same time!
Actually I don't really see the point in this. Its just a credit card with some cool artwork on it. Not that I really believe in credit cards. I've had alot of friends who's parents charged to much....

That's the terms for the card. 0% APR on purchase and balance transfers for the first 12 months, and then 13.99% after that, unless you qualify for one of the lower rates. It's a good deal if you can manage money.
If you can't manage your money properly, then you'll never find a credit card that's a "good deal".
Seriously, this is the type of deal you look for if you want to get a credit card. Most of the opt-in offers you get in the mail aren't nearly this good. The company just expects that most of the people applying can't handle the responsibility and will default while they're still in the 0% introductory APR, thus allowing the bank to charge some insane rate, roughly 32% APR for this card. But if you actually pay your bills, this is a great way to build credit.
