Note: I just C&Ped this rant from a rant and rave section of another forum where I post so some of the stuff might be know to y'all.

Well, I work at a gym on an Air Force base as active duty military, its actually my job 3M0X1, I'm not a screw up or injured person who got sent here as punishment or what not. Anyway, I just got fed up with the retired and Army community this past week, and I'm just going to ***** about my day yesterday.
I get there at 0430 like I'm suppose to. Oh wait guess what, the old retired hags who have nothing better to do than WAIT for us to open the gym. Only, guess what the gym doesn't officially open until 5, oh well no big deal, we can open in like 10 minutes anyway. So I let them in and go to the breaker box just inside our office, only wait *knock knock* "Excusee me sar light not on in lawker roome". No **** ma'am? I've been in the gym for 30 seconds and I'm just now turning the lights. So I get the lights on, and everything up and running, everything is good and fine until 0530, when the locker nazis come in.

The locker nazis are a very special group of retirees who want to tell us about any lockers that are locked. because they think they are the first guys who use the locker room. We only have day use lockers that use digital locks, and they have been malfunctioning lately, our master key hasn't been unlocking them, our they've been locking lately. So I try explaining why some of them have been locked, and now this old *** retiree who joined the Army Air Corps as an SP thins he knows more about how this gym works than I do and tries to tell me that there is some gang of kids who sneak into the locker rooms and lock lockers at random, just because they think its funny. No sir, thats not true, its malfunctioning locks, I go get the master key, and unlock the lockers, only look, one is filled with a Chief's BDUs, and the other has a flight suit in it. So I relock them, and then the retiree turns to me and asks why I locked them, and then I told him they were in use he tells me that someone must be trying to use a locker room overnight, and I correct him on that, but he doesn't believe me, and I walk out, resisting the urge to shove HIM in a locker and lock it.

So now its about 0600 and I look at our camera and see some Army SSgt (or higher) on the treadmill, working out in his ACUs. So I go back there and am about to tell him that ACUs are NOT appropriate PT gear, done that a million times, over at Ft Lewis they are authorized to do that and some just don't know. Only, I get a little closer, I see he is wearing a flak vest, and web belt with a med kit attached, and a camelbak. WTF. "Excuse me sir, just so you know for future refrence you must be in appropriate PT gear when you work out here."
"This is PT gear."
"No sir, those are ACUs."
So he says okay, and I leave letting him finish his workout, figuring the problem was resolved.

So I go back to the front desk and begin checking my emails and then next thing I know here comes the Army guy, and I call out, "Have a nice day sir." as he's walking out. Only he stops them comes back and starts trying to chew me out because I told him that working out in basically working out in battle rattle is NOT PT gear.
So we get into this argument, he says what he was wearing WAS PT gear because he had PT shoes on, and a PT cover on. Then he says that even though McChord AFB is under the command of an Air Force colonel, there is still an Army general in charge of the entire region and Army PT regs were in effect here too. WRONG.

So we get into it for about 5 more minutes when the building NCOIC finally decides to jump in on my side and the guy shuts up when he sees the NCOIC has more stripes than he does. Another crisis adverted, and its now 0730. So after that it usually settles down because everyone is now on their way to jobs or off to go eat a breakfast the size of a horse to recover all the calories they just lost on their 20 minute workout, and then another couple pounds.

Hmmm... I think I just lowered my blood pressure a couple points, feels good.

I'm not sure what to say besides that sucks, and it must be a pain.

PT= Physical training
ACU= Army Combat Uniforms, the new generation of uniforms the Army wears.
