I've been poking around my computer for the last few days, tweaking it out and working on its visuals, when I came across a problem...how do you change the XP color schemes? You've got the normal ones, like Blue and Green and Silver, but how do you modify those? No, I've already tried right-clicking the desktop and going to appearance. That only works for older schemes.
I would like to refrain from using any downloaded programs, and being able to PhotoShop or Firework them is preferable.

The registry doesn't have any logs of them, either. Google is of little help.
Well... first you need to patch the "UXTheme" file and then place themes under your "Resources" folder inside the "Windows" directory folder. That or simply intall'em (like we do some times at the "post your desktop" thread (http://www.warboards.org/showthread.php?t=4913)). ;)
It may take lil' file installing on most occasions but it's definitely worth it, imo.

Cool, thanks a lot! Would you happen to have an actual skin editor, or do you think it's possible to use Photoshop or Fireworks?

Image editing sure isn't one of my strongest assets. :P But I guess that it can be done. If you possess the knowledge needed to make themes along with it, you may well be able to do so. ^_^
Anyway, I advise ya to ask more knowledgeable WB'dians on those editing fields. I just consider myself to be somewhat of a power user. ;)

There's one available from Microsoft's Zune website.

Eh? Zune? I'm looking for XP color schemes, not Zune stuff.

Yes, well, it might be nice to actually own a Zune before I rush out and download an entire windows theme.

It's just a promotional item. The Zune theme has nothing to do with the Zune player or owning a Zune. It just tries to emulate the shiny black features.
You might head over to www.neowin.net and check out their theming area.
