Well, hello everyone - this is my first post, after I've looked around for a while.

I used to be a trigger & map maker back in the days where Starcraft first released and no programs yet existed to aid us in the process of creating the maps. Oh, things changed, as I now have seen a dozen of programs each one doing another thing.. will take a while to get used to it again.

Anyway I've been puzzled since then with this, so my question is the following: Is it possible to make a custom loading screen for a map of Starcraft(: Broodwar)? Like the ones in the official Campaign showing a planet (if I recall) and afterwards the game would load. (or something along the lines of the one present in Warcraft III)?

That, unfortunetly, happens to be one of the few things that is still unknown to the mapping comunity. That and portrait switching. (Like the advisor portrait for protoss in the brood war campaigns.)

It can be done, on blizzards map editor at least...

What do you mean?

If it was done, then it should be possible to be recreated..

It IS theoreticly possible however map making programmers havn't found out how blizzard did that yet. The story of how blizzard did it is they used a specialized map editor similar to staredit but a little more powerful.

a little?
they can do anything, because they have access to the source code with that editor.
