Anyone ever made one? I haven't made one yet and I'm thinking of making one. I have heard if built right they are quite sucessful. Anyhow on a tri sorc what are the skill placement & gear wishlist?
I know Leu made a really kickass one and posted the build on BF at some point, but damned if I can find it.
His was a really sweet build, and seriously insanely.

grr dammit i need to find it im bpred and need a new build to try. So his was good too eh. Thats the same thing i keep hewring yet I have yet to see one in the game to ask.
Hmm, assuming you have all 110 points as your disposal, how's this build:
Warmth 1
Fire Wall 20
Fire Mastery 18
Charged Bolt 10
Lightning 20
Lightning Mastery 10
Static Field 1
Teleport 1
Frozen Orb 20
Cold Mastery 1
+ prereqs
with +5 to all skills, you'll have 5045-5111 per second on your firewall, 5-2266 damage with lightning, and 340-357 damage with frozen orb along with 32 seconds cold duration.
To kill Hell Baal, you'll need to cast 870 lightnings at him, meaning you'll have to use about 30 Super Mana Potions. In reality a lot less due to the ability to use cold & fire as well, and the fact that you also have static field.
You'll have to use an average of 1 firewall and 2 lightnings to kill critters you come across.
I think Leu might've used Blizzard instead, not sure though.

Hmm, assuming you have all 110 points as your disposal, how's this build:
You mean 105 skill points at his disposal.
99 skill points from maxing out your character
3 from Akara in all difficulties
3 from Radament in all difficulties
equals 105.
Unless you know 5 extra points that i don't recall.

What about the points you get for 'offing Izual?

you get 98 from leveling (you don't get a point at level 1)
you get 3 from Den of Evil
you get 3 from Radament
you get 6 from Izual
98 + 3 + 3 + 6 = 110

Oh Izual...
I haven't played a ACT 4 game in a while since nobody would host one, so i didn't remember Izual reward.
I think Leu might've used Blizzard instead, not sure though.
Blizzard would be a very problematic spell to use in this type of build as it requires a lot of synergies... something that you cannot afford here.
Spells like Frozen Orb, Nova, Thunder Storm, Inferno, Blaze, Fire Wall, and Hydra do not depend heavily on synergies to be as effective as they can get so these are the ones it would be reasonable to use in Tri-Spec. Lightning is also a spell that can deal high damage even when not reaching it's full potential so I also used it.
This actually made me want a lightning sorc even more, seeing as a maxed Lightning with +5 skill does 25-10059 damage with a rate of 252 damage per 1 mana used on averege. o.0
Blizzard doesn't take THAT much. But Orb doesn't offer the same kind of damage Blizzard could, especially with %cold skill damage, or the amount of +skills you might be packing.
As I said, I don't remember specifically what his build was, I just know that it was insane.
Also, his main 3 spells (Firewall, Lightning and perhaps it was orb?) were all at slvl 30 with only a base level of 17 in each.

Its 113 i think. You get a free level from fighting the Ancients.
I kind of regret building my lightning Sorc the way i did. I have Chain Lightning as my main attack, but as i progress through the levels monsters develop a stronger lightning resistance. (And it becomes a pain in the Cow level when i have to fight the Cow King.) My original plan was to build a Lightning/Cold sorc with the only fire skill thats invested being Warmth. But i didn't want to waste skill points on building my tech tree up for Blizzard or Frozen Orb. :concern:
Ice Bolt: +5% Cold Damage per Level
Ice Blast: +5% Cold Damage per Level
Glacial Spike: +5% Cold Damage per Level
That's a lot for the blizzard... a synergistic~ blizzard will be four times as effective as a lone~ one.
If you have +13 to skills like you suggest the other guy offered, instead of +5 like I used in my example, than the attributes you get from my build are:
Lightning Damage: 7-4918
Cold Orb Damage: 461-482 * 85 percent resistance penetration * Cold Length: 40 seconds
Average Fire Damage: 8717-8797 per second * 47.3 yards

Even with the experience boost you get from the Ancients, you cannot exceed level 99. Those 3 points are included in the 98 skill points you get for leveling.
You're forgetting +skill damage, like from Nightwings, or Eschuta's and the like.

You get a certain amount of exp from the ancients the first time you beat the quest. If you do it too late(like kill norm ancients with a lvl 70) You won't lvl, but you will get the exp bonus you get for killing them. And even if they gave you a full level every time, you still can't exceed level 99- it would be the same as leveling up anywhere else.
As for a tri sorc... hrrm.. I would think that you would go with ormus' robes and eschuatas. HOTO gives the same skill bonus (If you have a perf eschuata's), but your primary attacks will probably be lightning and fire as you can get decent dmg without ramping up the synergies. The %dmg bonuses from those 2 items should help out a bit, too.
I know he probably relied on Infinity via Merc as well, which pretty much means any crappy-looking damage suddenly becomes extremely more powerful, heh.

If you do you use Eschuta's, you might as well get it socketed as your Act V reward and then stick in one of those unique jewels. It will help you round out the damage a bit, or boost the element you use the most.

What about Stat point placement and at which level should a skill be invested?

I've been playing around on Jamella and so far a build that I like that has worked good on it is FB/Bliz/Nova best reason being you can use bliz then switch quick to main of FB while using nova to back them off and be attacking 3 spells almost simolultanously. I never really liked firewall or most spells that someone has to walk into I much prefer direct attack spells. I prefer orbers over bliz but with 2 direct attacks already i figgured a bliz would be better as I cast and switch and its still attacking. With eschutas and nightwings I solo'd hell baal easily. But the build burns mana like crazy so an insight merc is a must. Really fun build can't wait to try it out online.
Lightning or Chain Lightning is really better then Nova... nova does pitiful damage unless you have the most elite gear possible.

This thread has inspired me to build a tri-sorc :D
I'm working on her now and should be done by next week.
I went over a couple of builds on single player and decided to stick with this one:
(Stats are based on lvl 85 with all skill quests: 84 + 12= 96 skills)
Ice spells:
20 into frozen orb
6 into cold mastery
1 into frozen armor
4 into pre-reqs
(-31 skill points)
Lightning spells:
20 into lightning
1 into static field
1 into thunderstorm
1 into teleport
1 into energy shield
7 into lightning mastery
4 into pre-reqs
(-35 skill points)
Fire spells:
1 into warmth
20 into fire wall
7 into fire mastery
2 into pre-reqs
(-30 skills)
I plan on spreading any remaining skills I obtain after leveling beyond 85 into lightning and/or fire mastery.
This is the gear I currently plan on using in my build and any alternatives I may add on later.
Helm: Shako or a +2 sorc skills circ with fcr/res/life & or mana.
Amulet: Maras or Tal's Ammy or a +2 sorc skills amulet with fcr/res/life &/or mana.
Rings: 1xSOJ & fcr ring with res &/or mana.
Belt: Spider.
Boots: Silkweaves or Waterwalks or Eth treks or War traveler's.
Gloves: Magefists.
Weapon1: Eschuata's Temper
Weapon2: Call To Arms Flail
Shield: Visceratuant.
Shield: Lidless or Spirit Monarch.
Armor: Skins of the Vipermagi or Ormus' Robes.
Charms: Sorc Torch, Anni, Life/mana charms(skill mod wishlist)/res charms/ fhr charms.
With the minimal gear I planned out, the build should add 15 to all the sorc's skills (16 fire). If I get mixed skill charms the amout will be a little more.
I might also get some facets for my gear.
Argh, now I want to make a trispec sorc too >.<
