Microsoft Corp. today announced the upcoming availability of Xbox 360™ Elite, a new model of the video game and entertainment system that includes a 120GB hard drive, a high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI) cable, and a premium black finish for the console...

Xbox 360 Elite has enough space for a library of Xbox Live Arcade games and thousands of songs, as well as downloadable high-definition TV shows and movies available on Xbox Live Marketplace. The new 120GB hard drive also will be sold as a stand-alone accessory to give current Xbox 360 owners greater choice and flexibility in their games and entertainment experience...

The Xbox 360 Elite and its accessories are expected to begin arriving in U.S. stores on April 29.

There were rumors going about before this, but now it has been officially announced (http://www.xbox.com/en-US/community/news/2007/0327-microsoftunveilsxbox360elite.htm).

Here is a nice picture of it that I found on wikipedia- http://img258.imageshack.us/img258/5494/xbox360eliteec4.jpg

So, what do you guys think? Anyone plan on buying it?

Personally, I think they should have named it the 360 1337. Then again, someone might think thats a phone number.

I read about this on GameSpot earlier. The only thing on it I would really find useful is the 120 GB hard drive, since I don't have an HD TV.

I saw this this morning also. I kept on bothering Seal by telling her that the 360 Elite looks like the old Xbox.

It's also $479.00 USD. That's 555.56 Canadian, 349.36 Euros (goddamned Europeans...), 56,720.66 Japanese Yen, 12,462.62 Russian Rubles, and I have it in just about every other currency. Whoever said Vista gadgets sucked?

I think I am going to be buying this version. Since I'll probably be getting a 360 in the summer (Depending on how well I do on the SATs and exams), I think this one should be still available then. Plus, I like the black color more than white (No, I'm not a reverse racist). The only thing I am worried about is that there might be problems with the original shipments.

The HDMI is really the only thing that i really want on this thing, since my HDTV doesn't accept 1080p through component, only through HDMI. I don't care about the color, i don't look at the console or anything, and i haven't even filled up 20GB HDD.
