half life sounds

since ive not gotten any replys to the one in the tech annex, I'll post another here

Do any of you guys know where to find the in game Half Life sounds for HL1?

cause I need some for a school project thats due in next week!

Hope there is nothing illegal about me stating the following...

First, download GCFScape. (http://nemesis.thewavelength.net/index.php?p=26) Install it, and run. Then locate the halflife.cgf in your SteamApps folder. Locate for the folder "sounds" and you will have all the sounds. Just basically drag and drop(Or copy+ paste) the sounds that you want onto your desktop, and there you have them(I only use this for skinning and hexing HL2 models, not for anything else) ready!

Or alternately, you can just not register your HL with Steam, and just keep the WON version if you are only interested with replaying HL once in a while.

Nothing strikes me as illegal; Shorty' using the sounds for use in a school project constitutes Fair Use. The software itself is no different than CD-ripping software, which is included on... pretty much every personal computer. :)

Heh, well, you know, being able to access the files which Valve kept hidden and inaccessible... There are lots of pirates who could somehow use this for their advantage(As if they already don't know. Heh. Doh).

I could use this to unlock that preloaded CS:S stuff.... But i wont :)
