Yeah i know Diablo.Org has the same poll, but that one was over a year ago, and i would like to see if peoples opinion has changed over the year. Not to mention, we can go a bit more in depth with this.

I also want to know, why Mephisto was voted for favorite evil of the Diablo universe. I don't like him because of the way he looks, the title he has (Lord of Hatred? Come on, Baal had the best title of Lord of Destruction and Diablo came in second, but Hatred? All you can do with hatred it corrupt people to join your side).

My favorite Prime Evil would have to be Baal himself. Lord of Destruction has to be one of the best titles a Demon could receive, and he mustered a large demonic army to attack the Arreat Summit. He also was the only Prime Evil to evade the "Hero" wrath the longest before even he fell. And he has some pretty cool attacks on him.

The thing i don't like about Baal is the way he looks. He looks like some kind of Archanid or Crab from hell. He was a lot cooler and fearsome when he was restrained inside of Tal Rasha's body. Maybe he should have kept that Mummy look.

A Lesser Evil i hate is Duriel. He is a major pain to fight, the moment you spawn in Tal Rasha's tomb he charges you dealing a major amount of damage. He also has the Cold effect making a attempt to fight him hand to hand difficult. Without a Hireling, Minion or Cold Resistance you would have a hard time putting this giant snail down.

My fav prime evil is, Mephy, good ole mephy :) .
He is prolly one of the hardest bosses in the game, good drops, good MFing; what more can you want?

For lesser evil i would have to say, Andy, i dont know why prolly cause its the first big boss you encounter.

...good drops...
Hmm, forgot about that fact for him. I agree, Mephisto can drop some pretty good stuff, but i don't bother to prey on him too often.

Mephisto can be pretty hard at Nightmare level. Lightning attacks are the strongest elemental attack in the game, and he uses him them often. Plus he commands herds of Blood Lords that bombard you with flame attacks and suck the living life out of you.

Heh. My vote for worst/most hard boss would be Lillith, the Uber form of Andariel. She's been known to One hit KO any class, I've even had her drop me while I was attacking her with life tap. What makes it even more dangerous are the monsters down there -- they all cast Amp on you (omg teh pain).

I voted Mephisto too. When I did him with my barb, he was surprisingly easy. He also dropped some awesome gear, and his background is cool too.
The Prime Evils are something like this, if I recall correctly:
Baal, Destruction.
Diablo, Terror.
Mephisto, Hatred.

IMO, Hatred pwns the other too. :P He looks cool to, with all to bones 'n stuff. Ya, Mephisto's got it going on. ;)

Is she in the Hell difficulty or something? I heard she's a recent addition from the 1.11 patch.

Whats Mephisto's background information?

EDIT: Nevermind, researched this stuff on Wikipedia. Guess Mephisto isn't too bad after all.

Lillith is one of the "mini-ubers" an online-only quest thinger (though mods exist for single player).

They are unbeatable, minis and the main ubers together, without at least a smiter, or other very powerful melee character. Uber Mephisto himself has conviction -- which lowers your resistance by 125 -- coupled with hell modes base -100, that means you would need over 225 base resistance just to break even, and 300 to max at 75/75/75/75 O_O;;;

i ramble cause i love.

Maybe you have to rape him again to make him poop out better stuff this time? :o

Mephisto is also my favorite character. Imagine: he imbues creatures with such irrational hatred that even death cannot quench their thirst for the blood of the living. Mephisto was the most intensely evil of the Three and seemed the most intelligent; while his Brothers were used to destroy and corrupt everything around them to gain absolute and irrefutable dominance, Mephisto's brand of evil was much more subtle. Diablo terrorized and Baal outright annihlated, but Mephisto, slowly but surely, wormed his way to the very top and used his vowed enemies -- the Council of the Zakarum, stewards of the light of Sanctuary -- to do all the work for him.

... Plus, zombies are just plain cool. ^_^

Diablo, Lord of Terror.

He's huge. He's got horns. He is the devil. How can you beat that?

After that, I'd say Andariel, just because she's so hot. ^_^

First of all, it's a computer game, for christ's sake.

Second, she's 10 foot tall, spits poison and has humongous claws sticking out of her back.

If you want hotness, don't go looking for it in Diablo II please. ;)

She is Hot. :P

Mephy's durance of hate is one scary place. The amount of dead corpse in those sacrifical alters and pits are terrifying. What demon needs that much corpse and blood?

Ewwwww, looks like somebody has a demon fetish... moving on, I have to say my favourite greater/lesser evil would have to be... Duriel. He looks like a hydralisk, one of my favourite unit's from one of my favourite games from my favorite Blizzard Universe (Starcraft) and I believe he nearly overthrew the prime evil's themselves at some point. Besides, he has that awsome sounding line when you first come into his lair, I can't make out exactly what it is, but I think it's something along the lines of "Looking for Baal?" And he is fun to face, whereas mephisto you can pretty much own all the time when not in Uber Tristram, Duriel is a good challenge most of the time.

Duriel says "You looking for me?" and is likely the boss I died the most on. Now, i fight him in parties, and just keep away from him, mauling him with traps.

My fave...Well, they all look stupid. especially Baal. God, he's the final, evil demon boss...and when you enter, he has a British accent and says "My bruthas will noht have diehd in vaine" (thats waht it sounds like. my spelling is better. Than was a phonetic impression)

Andariel and Izual FTW!

Oh yeah, Duriel... Y'know, he was the reason I quit playing D2 for a while. Seriously. I just COULD NOT beat him... <_< Finally I kept TPing back to town to get more mercenary cannon fodder. Must have done that twenty/thirty times before he finally keeled over. Even Diablo and Baal were easier...

PrestonBurke

Yeah, Duriel is pretty hard. He's perhaps the only boss where my teammates and I actually devised a plan to fight him instead of rushing into the fray and bashing away as if we were fighting andy or mephy.

From what i see, Duriel has these skills (assuming Blizzard gave him skills similar to the D2 Heroes)

Padalin Holy Freeze
Padalin Charge
Level one Bash or Stun
A really fast hand attack that almost make it seem like he has Frenzy or Zeal
High constitution skill

But its kind of funny because i just fought him in Nightmare with my lv40 Sorc . Me and another Sorc jumped into the fray and just pummeled him. My teammate casted Blizzard and i staticed/lightning him to death. By the time the rest of our team got into the chamber we were on our way to Kurast. :D

THe best way to solo duriel with any character, is to get backed into a corner so he can't charge you (Since his charged knocks you back, allowing him to charge you again). Doing this makes him use his standard attacks, which aren't quite as deadly as his charge is. ><

Yeah. mephs kinda eezy. I didnt even bother fighting him. Just used an army of skels. nice to turn your opponents own weapon against him.

I think the thing with Meph is that the road to him is harder than actually fighting him.

You have to fight his army of Blood Lords and Travincal council men. They all pack a nasty fire and lightning punch for the arrogant (I've seen a bunch of Barbarians and druids charge in before the rest of their party and get slaughtered because they got swarmed.)But like all monsters, they become easy kills once you reach a certain level.

And then theres the randomized generated map. Sometimes your lucky and you get a map with level 3 right next to your WP. But the worst randomized map i ever got was in hell difficulty. I swear, that map could have been the size of act one combined.

Meph is popular because he is the easier of bosses to access than the others because:

Andy requires you to take the WP to level 2, the you have to explore both level 2 and 3 for the next entrance.
You need to know the correct symbol of Tal Rasha, so that means you have to explore the Arcane sanctuary for the summoner and his journal. Then you have to explore the correct tomb to find duriel, not to mention you need the staff to access his lair. So Duriel is out of the conversation for bosses to sack.
Baal requires you to take his WP to level 2, then you have to explore both level 2 and 3 for the next level. Then you have to fight his 5 waves of minions in the throne room just to access him.
The second easily accessabile boss is Diablo. Take the river of flame WP, then travel to the Chaos Sanctuary and release the 5 seals.

Meph is easy because you can do a Trav run, then kill Meph and take the infernal gate to hell and fight Diablo. Thats three runs total in one game.

Or thats at least what i think is so great about Meph.

Actually I would routinely hit bosses in this order:

Countess --> Andy --> Summoner --> Duriel --> Mephisto --> Baal and then decide if I want to hit Diablo.

Diablo and Baal are often similar in difficulty because of the OK's which spam curses on you and your mercenary.

However, Andy and Duriel are both much much easier to get to then Diablo. FYI: You only need the staff the first time you face Duriel, afterwards, you just need to know the symbol. However teleport makes any kind of "running around" pointless.
