this is a copy of the treaty
Treaty of Mutual Defense
Introduction. As the leaders of our respective Guilds, [~VE~] and [WB], we hereby pronounce that the Vilani Empire and the Warboards Guild are henceforth mutual defense partners.
I. The Undersigned hereby agree to provide full military and diplomatic support to each other upon request, if a signatory has been wrongfully attacked. The attacked must request the activation of this treaty. If one guild requests the help of the other and the other does not join the fight within one week, the guild which requested help may cancel the treaty without activating Article V. No member of either guild may attack a member of the other guild unless they are attacked first or their debris is being illegally recycled (see Article IV).
II. We agree to technical and logistical support to each other through information disclosure and exchange, upon request of a signatory. This includes: dissemination of base locations of enemies and KOS targets, battle reports, scanner data, and other such tactical support.
III. WB is to be considered "Friends of the Vilani" and have full rights and access thereof in Vilani Territory, in addition to colonization rights in said territory. Any WB members within Vilani Territory are to be considered the equals of Imperial Subjects for the purposes of determining their rights in said territory, including the right to refuse a duelling challenge or colonize the astros of their choosing.
IV. Debris over WB or VE bases belong to the owner of that base, and no member of either guild may recycle the debris of another member without the express permission of that member. If no such permission is given, the base owner must give the debris thief 1 hour to move his/her recyclers. After that 1 hour, if the recyclers remain, the debris owner has the right to destroy them immediately and without further warning. This would not constitute a violation of Article I.
V. If either signatory wishes to cancel this treaty, they must give a 24 hour notice before the treaty is considered nullified. Neither signatory may engage in hostilities toward the other or aide the enemies of the other for a period of no less than 48 hours after the nullification of this treaty.
