I need about 5 people to help me test my current modding project. I have stats for Terran and Protoss completed as well as scripts. PM me if interested.

I'd probably be more interested if you displayed to any eventual future testers those changes here... but eh, this is solely my 'flawed' opinion on how to gather attention towards a project. ;)

The only changes at present are Protoss and Terran stat changes in Arsenal 3 and a bit of work in Ice. Currently working on the Zerg stats. Storyline is under construction, though there is a rough outline for a campaign. Button changes to be done once a graft catches up to current edition of SC. Graphics will be added in beta.

Wow... You've been away for a while, haven't you? :P

Try DatEdit (http://www.staredit.net/index.php?download=4668), the evolution of .dat file modification.

And sure, I'll help test.

*Ugh* A3. You should at least try DatEdit, which imho is far better and easier to use. ;)

i agree. i prefer DatEdit way more than A3. it gives you more options and is a bit more user friendly.

And use ICECC instead of ICE. Are you just going to change stats and a tiny bit of scripts? That doesn't sound like to much fun.

why not? I like aiscriptchanges. Can i be a tester?

Well yeah, everyone likes Iscript changes, he was just commenting on the fact that only a bit of Iscript changes is really n00bish. :P

crystal 679: can you link your mod?

And i want to ask: what the hell it meant in the EXACT meaning " n00b "?

Iscript is nice and flashy. However, the process is rather long if you make complicated animations and if you make some little mistakes. But reward is good if you work extremely hard to make your scripts as godly as possible. You will have a BSTrino-style mod that everybody will love, regardless of most other factors of the mod. If you took a look at Terran Doom, then you will notice some sloppy changes within the mod but most people are staring at the animations rather than the stats.

Actually, anybody can work hard enough to make a mod with only DAT and TBL changes that is good. I tried it with a mod, and although most of the commenters said that they could do most of it themselves, they stated with awe of my ghosts electrical lasers and my mairnes plasma lasers (which all was a piece of cake for several reasons).

Anyway (back to the mod), if you truly are in the ALPHA stages, then redo your entire mod with Datedit and IceCC. You won't regret it since you will have many more options.

hehe.. oops ^_^; , ment to say .datedit before. Same type of changes though, of basic stats. Also going to try something i don't think has been done yet in here. Ice will do for what I need of it, for now anyway. I'll try doing the thing in CC though.

And i want to ask: what the hell it meant in the EXACT meaning " n00b "?

n00b 1. Stupid, retarted. 2. Racist 9 year old on B.net.

That said, what I meant to say was "newb" which is used to describe someone that is new to something -- modding, for example.

My basis for indirectly calling her a newb was that most mods that only change a few things suck, and therefore are only made by complete beginers. However, perhaps I interpreted things wrongly, and she actually isn't a newb. Who knows, and, furthermore, who cares.

OK, y'know, I think I'm digging myself into an early grave here, so I'm going to shut up and kindly ask that you disregard everything I've said in this thread.

--------------

Slightly more on topic: is this mod going to be posted up/PMed to us soon?

And that's why I prefer the term rookie before calling someone newb. That way, I'm sure that it'll be distinguished easily. :)

I'll leave the n00b for someone who is around something for long but still haven't improved (nor he/she does seem to want to). For the record, I rarely use it as well. Generally when someone is hopeless. And even in such cases not that often as some might suppose. :P

Zerg units almost finished writing down.
Next step: Zerg building stats to write down.

Is there a new concept/theme that you're working with? Will you be changing the gameplay dynamics? Do you have some crazy idea that you aren't quite sure how you'll implement (imho, the best idea is one you have to try really hard to get to work)?

If you could just provide some more information, I'd be glad to help out if I could.

Going to finally build the moving bunker =) getting a building to move takes some work though... I'll have to mess with the scripts. Anyway.. the alpha is attached to this message after edit.

Edit: Yeah, it's not much yet... but I'll keep working on it more and more.
