Hy,people.My problem is in terrain.I'm making AoS map type and I done maybe 15%.Now,I deleted total terrain because it looks like shit :concern:

I want to have map with 5 lanes,2 races (Human and Orc),specific,strange middle which looks "you kicked mother fucking ases" understand?

If someone wants to help or has intelect for Terrain Editor or if have idea,pls go to NEW MAP in WE and help,it's important!If I like your terrain,your name will be shown when it's uploaded (but in some time).
So please,tileset isn't important,but I would like that to be Northrend.
NOTE: Size 96X96 and,please try to create that for maximum 2 weeks!

So are you saying the middle should look something like my Diarrhea? So please,tileset isn't important,but I would like that to be Northrend.

Isn't that size a bit small for a AOS map? Shouldn't it be 128 X 128? And do you want us to include doodads?

On a side note, is there any other specific details you want to include? Like what kind of terrain you want to seperate the lanes with, or imported tiles from other maps? Do you want the terrain to symbolize good and evil?

Here you got right!Offcourse I want to include doodads,but I thought that you may have enough space with 96 x 96,but why not :)

You could symbolize good and evil terrain,mixed,if you understand.Lanes should have enough space for mass units,because there are 7 spawning units that I'll include for each lane.Could have big separation between lanes (You may make some path which goes through all lanes).Else to have space for Way Gates which teleports from one map corner to another.

NOTE: Do not import tiles from other maps because it won't work on my wc3x version.Want more information?

btw:dont want to looks like DotA!!!

You're asking us to make you a terain map that don't look like DotA.The prblem is a never played DotA maps so a pic of the map would be helpfull.

He was talking about what yer suggested layout is. Like a quit MS Paint job in like 2 minutes.

In any case, sticking 5 lanes comfortably into a 96x96...
Is impossible. There's gunna be major clutter. It'll basically be 1 solid battlefield. Not like that's super bad, admitedly. It would be nice to have more maps with a 'full battlefield' feel, cuz right now the only one that has that effect is ToB, and that's only for hero-on-hero-on-building action, not involving creeps.

You could fit five lanes in 95X95, but then theres the problem of finding space for the base and the Hero Selection screen.

Ack, forgot there was a river in DOTA. Now i have to remove my current river.

here ill make one up in paint, it wont be cluttered quite simple.

The attachment isnt a joke, its just really rough, you would have to make the lanes not striaght ofcourse i could see something like that with extra work on it, work.

Regarding map space,it can be 160x160 if you want.dayoh,I already has made map like this and it looks shity * Post No.1 *,but if you have idea,it would be nice!!!

Well he did specifically say that he didn't want it to look like DOTA. And he also said wanted 5 lanes.

Or you could do uber design lanes that, while they could be symmetrical, not like, 4-way symmetrical.

You could do top to bottem or diagonal would work...

I want diagonal (right - downer and left - upper corners) !That could look prety cool :)

Dude, calm down. You can't speed through these things, and I'm just playing with a 128x128. If you are so screwed on time, make your own terrain. It's not that difficult to make a fun one. During gameplay, it's more about effect than detail anyway. Just think open not closed and you'll be good.

Yeah Blacker, you definitely need to take a chill pill. :P Hold your horses and calm the f**k down. :mad: If you ask a favour from someone and it's not their job to do so, you also must bear the patience to wait for'em to present it at their own pace.

Side note (not forcefully related to mapping): Hurrying rarely achieves the best results possible. And that is from what I've known and experienced throughout all my entire life.

Never said it was spamming but I think of it being rather inconsiderate provided he already offered to help. Accept what you're offered or you can always look the other way around. You, at times, seem to run on a short fuse and that generally doesn't harness the best replies (and assistance) from others as you might realise in the future, if you haven't already. Hence that, my patience remark (in the sense that you must develop it a tad more). "Rome wasn't built in a day" and that also applies so well into mapping. ;)

see if this tickles your fancy...

nothing too special, just diagonal up, five lanes, northrend tiles and 96*96 (no room for hero selection/other stuff, youll need to add it if you want to use this terrain). I can make small adjustments to it if you need me to.

sorry if some of the doodads appear sparatic and random...its getting late

~1700 doodads

just looking at it the first thing I would do is improve the cliffs along the sides of the maps by adding some rocks and stuff...simple spam, you can do that if you want to.

edit: I made this map from scratch by myself, any resemblence to DotA is simply because there is only so much you can do with northrends' "evilness".

Remove the corner-to-corner with all-lanes-have-equal-style and 'there must be a this central divide running down the middle of the map perpendicular to the lanes' concepts.

Take a look at ToB's terrain.
What the heck, look at the terrain on my aos to get an idea of what it means to be different:

What I think?I think map is perfect!!!Thanks hooded.I already put usual units to see how will it look.

Download attached map and tell what's wrong and what's super :D

I'll wait some time to see if someone chalenge this map.


btw,that not looks so much on DotA.You can see those fools on epicwar.com which create maps with FULL DotA terrain,and stealing heroes,abs...This map don't looks on that ;)

The middle-top and middle-bottom "evil" lanes get sort of crowded about the spawn locations.

Try removing the rocks from the middle top lane, and moving the temple of the damned into that area, while moving the tower a little bit up and forward (touching the cliff above it).

Also, for the bottom middle lane, remove that one canopy tree and move the temple of the damned into that area.

That terrain is perfectly...
DotA-style

Yeah, i know its not too original in shape and such, but it matches his diagram of what he wanted. Its like if he says "give me a hammer", and i give him a wrench, and call it a "creative and original non-DotA hammer". ;)

I took some time to look map better.Unfortunately to say,it's small related size I want :concern: .

I'll make new same map based on hooded's map,but with size 128 x 128.Bcz I ocupated with BitN,I'll attach map as soon as I can.

im just guessing here, but the middle lane is through the water, you can see theres a couple ramps going down roughly to the middle of the water?
