I have been playing Starcraft:Broodwar for only two months and already i am appaled at the level of maturity of some of the players on Battlenet. Instead of congratulating you on a game well played, or saying gg, they swear at you and inform you where to go. PLEASE!!! It's only a game, keep some level of dignity. For example, I met a player the other day who was new to the game, i wanted to help him out so i joined a 2vs2 with him on my team. When we lost the game the opposing side Showed no respect for fellow gamer, instead they told us to **** off and then left. What gets me is these are the same people who are self-proclaimed "experts", but all they play are money maps...doesn't sound like expert material to me. So please, if u see an instance of pure immaturity and no self-control, save the screenshot and send it to blizzard so we can clean up this online community.

Excellent idea MinD_CakE. I especially hate when a bunch of whiny n00bs leak/leave in defense maps & lose the whole game for everyone. It's truly incredible how stupid so many of the players are.

Actually that won't help anything. Yes, there are a lot of annoying people out there. Some people have fun banning peple when they come to the game, some BS, etc. But Blizzard can't do anything about peoples attitudes.

A person acts the way he acts and Blizzard cannot ban him for that. If you want to, just don't join those game or squelch those players.
I'm not trying to be rude in this post, but I'd just like to point something out: Have you looked around at the maturity of people nowadays? I'm appalled at that. I mean, c'mon, where did morals go? There isn't much we can do except say it's wrong. Other than that, live with it. I've been B.netteing for nearly 5 and 1/2 years. It'll be 6 years come August. That's a long time of dealing with morons. And you know what the worst part is? In a defense game, when I have 5 * the kills of all the other players combined, because I know the game inside out since I played it for years on end, they still yell 'Man you suck newbie!' except in that weird 1337 talk... o.O

Here are people to look out for. People with '666' in their names (they are posers), clan tags, 'gosu' in their name, and anything like Doctor.Death or Mr.ChainSaw. Well, I was being pretty general, but most of the annoying people who curse at you had those types of names. Don't get angry at me though, if your name resembles anything like that, I was being stereotypical.

Yeah, good tip. I'll have to keep that in mind.

I guess all the rude people on b.net just avoid me?
There is the odd occasion where I am insulted for no aparent reason, in such a case I either ignore them or take part in the ímiturity' but overall I have a good b.net attitude as do the people I play with.
Even if b.net could boot people for their actions chances are they would boot the wrong person, there are always 2 sides to every story and a single image capture dosn't give any depth. If somebody really annoys you simply squelch them.

I find that going on Battle.net is a lottery in terms of the attitudes of the players that I'm exposed to.
There are some really nice people who are polite and helpful - and talkative too. (I hate it when the other player says nothing.)
There are others who are at completely the opposite end of the spectrum, although they show it in different ways. They might be arrogant elitists who give themselves stupid labels like 'GoSu' and then swear at you and call you a newb if you lose to them; or ban-happy people who ban you the instant you join a game (I always warn people if I'm going to have to ban them) or if you download despite the fact that you have a variant of the map being played.
Other people simply don't speak to you. I remember two days ago when someone called Punk.Skater joined a UMS game with me. With just the two of us, and no communication from him, I got bored and, after numerous attempts at conversation I asked 'Do you speak at all?' Five seconds later I got the reply 'No. Now stfu.'
You also get some people who are a mixture of the two types. I have one of them on my friends list. He gets really angry with newbies in his games but acts like anyone else if you know him. Also, I have a friend who lives not too far away and has Starcraft. If he gets bored in a game then he just disconnects and I think he has backstabbed once or twice. In real life he's completely different.
Hmm...went a little off topic with that last bit.

people getting banned is a part of b.net you need to learn not to take it personal. when i ban i dont give out warnings cuase to me its pointless. when i get banned i forget about it and look for a new game to join.

I don't mind getting booted, but banning gets to me. I mean, I know that I'm not wanted if I get booted - so I don't rejoin. What's the point of banning me?
If I get banned then I usually send a message to the banner afterwards, politely asking why they banned me. If I get a response then great, whether it be profane or not, at least they've taken notice.

wait isnt banning and booting the same thing?

Whenever I get banned, my connection gets messed up and I have to wait 10-15 seconds to get the list of games again. It is so annoying.

No. Booting eliminates you from the game while banning basically makes it so you can't join that game again or any other games made by that person.

If the person who banned you makes another game you can join that (If you want), you are only banned from that specific game. Also banning along with other data from battle.net is stored in your registry so if you really want to join a game you were banned from (why would you?) you just have to edit it.

You can't be f**ken serious right? Like Blizzard is actually going to give a f**k if needledick swears you out. Battle.net is free and they really do care less on how people act on their online server.
And grow up. Kinda like what you said, "It's only a game

Thank you for illustrating exactly what i'm referring to. Did you really need to use language a third grader would use to tell me that I said something ridiculous? Probably not, in any case, your vocabulary probably hasn't evolved beyond that point so that you can inform me of this misinformation in a civilized manner. I'm sorry for myself for accidentally taking the time to read that pathetic post.

I can see that my f**ken language really makes you sh*t your pants. So please, allow me to continue: I really enjoyed the way you phrased your f**ken words. It really put a hole through my f**ken head. If you were a f**ken tenth of the man that I am, maybe you would actually have some f**ken balls and quit your f**ken whining on the evils of immature assholes who will readily and repeatedly tell you to f**k off than listen to any half-assed remarks on how your f**ken feelings were hurt by their coarse and vulgar language.

Hmmm...I can honestly say that I have never S*** my pants in my whole life, thank you very much. Oh, and uh, that hole in your head, ya, it was there before I posted. Also, how do you know if i'm a man or not? I could be female. Lastly, I never claimed that my feelings were hurt, just amazed at how immature the teenage population has gotten.

I don't think that language is required in these forums...

I agree...with skyglow1...we don't need to turn these forums into b.net chat, by the sounds of things, anyway. But that's just me.
