Game cache

In the editor their is the action game cache.I found out that it is used to store data bitween maps.But i don't know how to use it.Please help me!:(

It's quite simple - just create game cache usin "GC - Create Game Cache", then store 4 example unit in action "GC - Store Unit" typeing Label and category.
After creating GC, in the profile user's folder is created special file for GC. ;)

In any case, the most useful application for gamecache is the Katanna system, which basically does everything except a string label for you.

I too know little of game caches. could one possibly have a game cache that loads information onto the same map it is created? Though i have never tried anything with game caches (never found a need), i see no reason why not...though it seems for some reason so unlikely

Game caches can't transfer data between mp games. Just campaign.

It's not the most efficient thing these days, but caches ARE pretty useful for timer-controlled loops, which ARE pretty useful things.

ok I got it.I managed to make two test maps with illidian,gave him some items and stored him.finished the map loaded the second and there it was.Illidian with the same items and experience.But there was a problem.When I tried the same with my map it didn't work.Could it be the custom hero data?

I will make two maps(gamecachetut1 and gamecachetut2) and post them here this thread.Also you can use it for you maps.A small quest with Illidian.Just pu them in maps/frozen throne and play.:)
