Ladder Reset -- Season V

The ladder reset has occured. A laddering frenzy has ensued.

A lot of people are using it as an excuse to get back in the game, and now the servers are pretty much jammed with people. 1:30 wait times are down to 30s wait times. We'll see how long it lasts.

Wait.. I still have my wins/losses right? I don't care so much about my level, but it'll suck trying to get to banshee icon again.

I assume your talking regular ladders too, not just the special Season IV ladder? And then soon, they'll start Season V?

All wins / losses are retained for purposes of icons, but level and standing percentages have been obliterated.

I'm still hoping for a balance patch. Didn't they ask for everyone's suggestions on balance a long time ago?

But (similiar to last time), because of time commitments it will be many months before I can do some serious laddering.

EDIT: Current boundary for top 1000 on US.East is a staggeringly small 5-0 or 6-6.

I played Canuck, who went MK first with militia expo. However, he did his expo without scouting direction first (we were on Phantom Grove) and he expo'd between our bases and I was NE. Queue Warden harassment, then archer harassment, then more militia, then building of AoPs outside of his expo and Ballistae mass-smashing of his towers. AoP eat-through trees, expo in that spot myself.

He tries to switch to mass air and clear another expo for mass towering but I'm watching that too, jack his creeping at the last second, and prevent the expo. He gets out 4-5 Gryphs, 2 Hawks, and doesn't notice my two AoWs a ways outside of my base that I built to pump Hippos. He brings 10 militia to my base to attack my expo and Clouds my AoPs. He wrecks the AoPs and starts working on my ToL while one-peasant expanding, but my Warden kills the peasant, slashes the building to about 200HP, and he finally loses his militia to timer and my hippos / Warden make the scene simultaneously. Death, death, death, "gg". Replay attached later.

With the reset I won't be playing for a couple of days as I don't really want to play someone who could potentially be a high level (30+ is high for me). I'll come back when it starts to get back to how it was.

I should probably know this, but who is Canuck? I'm assuming he's really good, probably on the scene, otherwise you wouldn't have posted. I seem to remember seeing Canuck in a few tourny replays...

Canuck is some Canadian guy who was in u5 with Pato, Nilk, and all those guys. He's UD player.

15-10, starting the afternoon/evening's play now. I'm about 420th, and I'm absolutely determined to stay at least top 500, get top 100 if I can. It helps me when I am forced to "keep up" with the others to keep my rank, gives me more motivation to ladder. I like resets.

Oh, and sheep, surely playing good players is great? You ask them where you went wrong, or watch what they did, and get experience against people better than yourself. Sure, you lose, but you'll never get better by repeatedly playing people you'll win against.

My life savings says that the one of the next five posters calls me a hypocrite.

Well, if it was Canuck, he was trying a new race. The consensus is that it probably wasn't him. :S Oh well, he was spectacularly defeated, so it at least comforts me in that respect.

And to echo Cole's sentiment, I'm like 10-4 after "losing to gay shit after gay shit." I won one that I should have lost, when someone dropped. But I don't feel for him, because he was fagging BAD. Like, DH/Panda archer/dryad teching fagging. Hello, unkillable staffable hero-guys.

personally, i dont care for level.
My bro, however, cares a lot, and he gets mad when he cant play on wc every week cuz then his lvl will go down. When i found out about the season V reset, i laughed at him.
Yeah, to him, it was an excuse to get back on more often, but to me it should have made him realise that lvl doesnt really matter.
