View Full Version : Who here has signed up for Beta?
I'm curious about the amount of people here that have signed up. Then we can later know how many of those got the beta.

Count me for the big "NO," cause I didn't signup for the beta.

Hey there Protosschick99, I haven't seen you in a while. Welcome to the ORG network forums!
I didn't even think about signing up. I wasn't so hyped about the game back then as I am now. Although, this phase of the beta isn't open to my part of the world. So even if I was interested, I would have to wait.

No big deal. You probably wouldn't get in anyway. :(

I have. I acturally don't care if I get in. The term in the FAQ saying not all classes will be made at the start makes me say 'yeah so no >>'
Anyways I got Ryzom Beta CD's coming ^^

I signed up of course.
BTW, P-Chick, nobody has received an email about beta acceptance yet, so you may still have a chance :D.

I signed up for wow beta, and I feel very confident on getting it cause I got war3 beta and ft beta, so it makes me feel I can get this too. But you know, even if I don't get it, the crying and suicide attemps will just be a minor thing you know.......

Just so everyone knows:
Assuming Blizzard takes the same amount of people for the first run of WoW beta, as they did for the first run of FT, you have a 1 in 40 chance of getting in. The odds are really not in favour of anyone, but the Blizz friends/family, and fansites :P.

1 in 40 isn't such bad odds, is it?

Actually, the odds are slightly better than 1 in 40. From the article that mentioned the total sign-ups, it also said that they expect to eliminate quite a few duplicate entries, reducing odds to 1 in 35 or 1 in 30 or maybe even better. There are also multiple beta stages planned and more people may be added later on.

Ah yeah, forgot to mention that :P.
If I don't get in the first time, I'm bound to get in the second run through ;). And just so everyone knows, Blizzard does plan to expand the beta into multiple countries at one point. They are even setting up a local European World of Warcraft team, to manage things on that end:

It's not certain that the team will be operational for beta, but it seems only logical to do testing on the European servers there as well :D. So all you European folk are in luck :).

They are only saying that the beta will begin in the first half of 2004. While I would love it to be sooner, I think it still could be a month away, or more :(

Yeah? I've never been able to sign up for their betas because I live in Australia :(

Australiasia is a pretty big continent. Kinda. You'd think they'd include us...
Wouldn't it be funny if like, the whole of Australia moved to the USA temporarily to get a copy of the World of WarCraft betas. Hehe... that'd be so cool
