MSNBC - George Tenet resigns as CIA director (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/5129314/)
It appears that late last night, George Tenet contacted President Bush and told him that he wishes to resign for "personal reasons." At a short press conference this morning before leaving for Europe, Bush announced Tenet's resignation. According to MSNBC, Tenet wants to spend more time with his family.
It is apparent that he is not leaving only for personal reasons. The question is, did his mismanagement of 9/11 and Iraqi strength assessments put too much stress on his job (he's had it for seven years, quite a long time), or is there something larger (in either personal or public life) that has forced him to call it quits?
