Ok guys, based on what some people have said to me over IM, it seems as though our Creative Concepts community is not quite what it used to be. And it certainly isn't what I remember it being when I was a CC resident.

I was wondering if you kids would be interested in joining my insane project of making a nice united community like the ones at the RP and diplo forums or the old starchitects. I've got quite a few projects in mind currently which would go great with some teamwork. But first I need to know who I can count on

Skills: I mainly manage photoshop, although I do have a grasp on 3D modeling programmes and am working on increasing my skills with them. I specialise in abstracts and photomanipulation.
Interests: Currently, I would like to retake the old project of making a sort of mural of the Warboards Community (http://www.warboards.org/showthread.php?t=371), as well as writing up a forum novel, similar to Demon Knights and Pie Wars.

Skills: Photoshop CS2 and ImageReady are what I'm familiar with. Other programmes I use are Illustrator and Dreamweaver. Can't really say I really specialize at anything, as I never really stick to one digital art category.
Interests: I never always liked doing the same thing over and over again. Therefore, I would love to get some new ideas from other people. Right now, I'm trying to do some digital painting.

Skills: Writing science fiction and haiku, but I hate deadlines and any semblance of commitment like a motherfucker.

[Actually, considering you were already a veteran when I joined, and that you make your own sig/avies and they don't look noobish I do have a bit of respect for you. Tool :P



But this seems to something that's affecting the entire forum, not just this sub-forum. I don't know, but it seems like warboards is dead. Many people have moved on, maybe due to more work or just growing out of it. Hopefully more people return like you did.
I did notice that a while ago. It's partly the cause why I lost interest in WB [although I disappeared for personal matters]. But, you know, it's just the inevitable long-term consequence of the split. After the split, 100% of the community was composed of ex-BFers who knew each other from some time before, especially the staff, and the newcomers would merge in almost instantly. But it's obvious that as time passes, that old community will fade away. And those gaps get filled in by newbs, and as the old community ages, the newbs have more trouble mingling in, so they start making isolated cliques of their own [and that in turn bugs the vets and drives them off], which is wot's giving us trouble atm.
I just guess it's not a matter of waiting for old people to come back. It's up to the vets to do something about the site while the new, warboards-born community matures.

As to a new skin for WB, I'm open to the idea, but you'd need to create an extremely polished version that you all came to agree upon. You mentioned monthly-something, not sure if in reference to working on it in monthly stages or what, but please bare in mind that we would put out a lot of effort to get one more good design on the site, not more than that. ;)

What I meant with it was if we got the group together, then it might be a good idea to work on monthly projects, as an activity of some sort.

The skin is a separate thing, currently just one of the things we'd be interested in working on. :D

This has evolved a lot since the start of this thread, so I'll be doing some updating to my original post.
Also we won't be taking signups through this thread until further notice. Those of you who requested to join in recently will be considered as pending members, if its ok with you.
Those of you who signed up but didn't show up for meetings or showed up for just one [shame on you :P] need to confirm your participation either by posting here or by sending me a PM. Otherwise, I'm taking you off the list.
