Here it is again. Another Whatpulse Update. Team Warboards is ranked 232nd. We need only 123,689 keys to make 231st. Also, important information, there is a new version of WhatPulse out, and it has a ton of new features. Including, a mouse distance counter. It keeps track of how much you move your mouse. Isn't that cool? And there is also an option where you can create different profiles for the different computers you use. Now that is great! You can find out how active you are on each computer.

Here is a quote from Aqotrooper to tell you what to do.
Stop forgetting to pulse, just set the program to turn on as soon as you start up the computer! If you use different computers, turn it on in each of them. If somehow it happens that you use a different computer every time (Huh?) just download and install pulse every time you think you're about to be typing a lot... it takes five minutes maximum.

With more active people, Warboards will progress a lot! So come on! Help us!
If you hadn't signed up yet, sign up and then join team Warboards!
http://whatpulse.org (http://whatpulse.org/)

If you're registered but inactive - turn active! Find your Whatpulse, open it, right click the little icon it created on the menubar, go to Settings > Program Settings, and tick the "Launch at Windows Startup" box. Make sure you're not blocking it with some windows startup setting.

And then what? Nothing. Go on as usual. Do what you always do. But in the end of the day, double click the little Pulse icon, and the amount of clicks that the program collected will be sent to the site, to the Warboards team.

WOO! 32 of our 45 members have 1,000,000 or more key clicks! Yah!

And the top five key clickers:
1 bluemicrobyte (http://whatpulse.org/stats/users/157595/) --10,472,168 -- 6,408,592
2 NeoX (http://whatpulse.org/stats/users/157522/) -- 9,517,399 -- 6,372,596
3 Arcani-ranger (http://whatpulse.org/stats/users/159923/) -- 9,372,779 -- 6,348,767
4 Vhaerun (http://whatpulse.org/stats/users/158008/) -- 9,056,912 -- 1,696,543
5 kongurous (http://whatpulse.org/stats/users/167683/) -- 8,302,368 -- 1,649,526

Oh, by the way, the Dolphin Pulse site is gone. There is no more Dolphin Pulse.

I would be pulsing regularly, but Whatpulse decided not to let me set my account up.

hmm... we need 123,689 I have 184,507 pending to be pulsed... LLLLLL level up

Protoss_Honor

Hmm. It says 146,072 still needed to get 231st place. I wonder why? Was that 184,507 key clicks or mouse clicks Darkslayer? Oh well. All the more reason to keep pulsing people!

Oh, and remember everybody, update your version of WhatPulse!

EDIT: As far as mouse clicks are concerned, we are Ranked 185th. Go us!

EDIT2: We are ranked 436th in miles we have moved our mouses.

I highlight over and over again while I read, so I should be able to get lots of clicks, and I type a lot, so I could get lots of key strokes,

but they don't make WhatPulse for Linux.

I stopped doing this kinda stuff after performance issues.

For those of you pulsing, gl hf and have fun getting your keys logged and password stolen.

Yes, one of the reasons why I stopped using WhatPulse. My cousin complained that my comp was running a lil' slow, so I uninstalled WhatPulse. Now, my computer runs faster. Either that, or I'm just exagerating. :P

Whatpulse takes around 5k memory usage to run permanently; if you use Windows XP, than the Operation System programs alone (i.e. stuff that your PC has to run all the time anyway) takes about 82k mem usage. Firefox takes 40k mem usage, MSN takes 33k mem usage, and Skype takes 21k mem usage.
So really, if you think Whatpulse makes your PC runs slower, think again. It probably has less than a 1% effect on averege performance assuming your PC was bought after the year 2000.

Thanks a lot for making this thread Protoss_Honor :D

It was more of a, "try reducing the number of applications during start up" type thing.

If whatpulse had a keylogger in it, they would be found out within about 30 seconds. I mean seriously, wtfux?

And if whatpulse affects your computer's performance >>at all<< then you need to get a computer preferably built within the last 4-5 years.

That or stop using shit like Shareaza, or Norton, or other resource hogs.

With that siad, I totally forgot to reinstall whatpulse... Sad to, I'm surprised im still up there as one of the top users O_o

well, the people that are active, seem to be the ones without high key counts per pulse.

Well ive got it installed again, i usually pulsed once every week (I so rarely reboot anymore, heh) which results in half a million or so each pulse depending.

I really like that how far your mouse has traveled, thats pretty cool :D

Indeed.

So whats all this about mouse mileage? I didn't see that on the stats page anywhere...... Where should I be looking?

I seem to have a problem, when i installed the new one i closed What Pulse, then whenever i try to open it, it asks me to sign in. But there are three fields, Accountname, Passoword and Profile. I don't remember having a profile or being able to find one anywhere on the website. It always says (Account Name) or (Profile) can't be found. But i can sign in the website with no problems.

goto the site, sign in, and create a pule profile (i just named mine "home") the new client is called a beta, lol.

Basan, the mouse mileage is something that is included in the new beta version, for example since last night my mouse has moved a total of 0.54 miles.

I'm not sure if they include those stats on the "stat pages" yet though.

Aww, how sweet. You thought of me... although it was BMB. ;)
Anyway, I think that will give it a shot (at teamwork as well). Too bad that I haven't typed as much as I used to with it lately (as in, two weeks ago). Althought eh mileage will be interesting to keep a track on. :)
Does anyone know from memory how much HD space it takes after installed? I don't another hog around and AutoCAD is necessary for me. :concern:

Edit add: How do you join the 'home team', anyway?

Thanks for the info, P_H. :) I asked because haven't seen a FAQ link to it when setting up my account.
But now am experiencing some sort of problem, the installation can't be concluded because it can't retrieve information from the server (just after I told the app my account name and pass'). I also told my McAfee console to allow connections from that app but the result seems to be nill. Anyone can guide me through this predicament? ;)

You need to make an account (and the necessary profiles) on the WhatPulse website before installing WhatPulse onto your computer. It's confusing, yeah.

Basan
02-07-2007, 6:18 PM
I did that before getting n' installing the app, P_H. :P But nevermind though, I just got it to work. It must've been the server which was clogged with traffic at some point. Am now using it as we 'speak'. ;)

I demand that you and basan have sigs that have your usernames in bold giant letters, because my eyesite apparently blows.

That or you need to have some different posting styles ;(

wewt, 1.5 miles! O_O

*Roflmao* And do we have a timeline for those siggies? :smirk:

As for posting styles... only if you pay me well enough. And even if you're considering such, I'd advise ya to save for some contact lenses or glasses 1st. :P

Its just that, I sometimes have such a hard time telling you two apart -- I'm sure its just a problem on my end, but for some reason you two seem very similar.

Yeah, we both do use smilies. :P

Anyway, my last pulsed stats go as:
Keys - 8.417
Clicks - 5.802
Miles - 0,83 --> I really prefer the metric system. :_poke:
Just making clear that I use the commas for decimal units and the dot for counts above one thousand, eh? ;)

Hmm, I'm sitting on a few hundred thousand keys and several thousand mouse clicks, plus around 3.5 miles...maybe I should pulse sometime soon...
