I know it's an endless battle usually lost, but i have to try.

I went away from SC for a while, then came back with some friends recently. We wanted to play one of our fav games, Poker TD, but it seems the latest Patch disabled them all. The map is, of course, protected. The creator is nowhere to be found.
The error is, "unable to join selected game", when trying to join a game with that map up. I *think* it's just a problem with the map name as i recently had that same error on a map i was messing around with. (they remove characters we were able to use?)
Anyway, if someone could work their magic on the protection, or show a good path to do it alone, i'd be greatful. I'd like to think im semi known/trusted on US East.

Thanks,
Hell~Spawn_TOF

where is the original creator, you don't unprotect maps without the original maker's permission.

As previously stated, i cannot contact the maker. There is no credit taken or given on the map description on the map i have. It's an older map. Quite a few years old. I'd pretty much assume the maker is no longer around even if i could find out who made it.

Unprotecting should have exceptions. Letting a good map die in an already dying game should not be allowed because of a simple moral fiber.
I'd be more then willing to go through the proper creator channels if i had any way of doing so. I have no wish to give or recieve any unprotector programs. Im simply asking someone who does have access to one, to unprotect the map, and send it to me in some way.

Doesn't make a difference, morally, you don't have the right to unprotect maps protected by someone else, doesn't matter if they've quit SC for 10 years. You can only consider the map ancient and destroyed since it no longer works. :(

If i consider the map dead without trying, then i must consider Starcraft dead. I refuse to do that without a fight on either. If it needs to be fixed, it should be fixed.

IF no credit at all is on the map description, than and only than, may you unprotect it, if more information is given when you unprotect it, then try and contact the maker and ask if it is ok.
However, if any maps are unprotected, they can be considered free to edit as long as you don't change any of the ways they gave themselves credit.
