View Full Version : Web Triggers, it is no longer a theory

At long last I have suceeded in making Web Triggers. I have even thought up a good definition for them.

So here are my four definitions you should know:

Trigger- a way of causing desired effects at locations through Conditions and Actions.

Hyper Trigger- a technique used to decrease the delay time between triggers executing.

Web Trigger- a technique used to decrease the size of a trigger through the use of switches and allowing several triggers to be tied together into the equivilant of a Super Trigger.

Super Trigger- a trigger that is very large in size, it has many conditions followed by many more actions.

Now that we all know what those all are I can finally show you an example of a Web Trigger here:
(It only consists of 3 triggers, but it will show you how you can format the conditions to whatever you want, and still get the same result.)

What's this for? and shouldn't this be in the maps and mods depot?

I don't see anything abnormal in your triggers either. Yes it uses swtiches, but what about it?

Just wait, once I get my map finished.
But essentially, Web Triggers are the wide scale use of switches.

oh i see, i'll wait then :P, but submit it when it's near done or something, cause this just takes up space and you might find many people yelling "it sucks" or something XD

If you use the same conditions for many triggers you should use switch instead of the condition (as it also increase (a little bit) the runing time of triggers) and make switch "handlers" for each often used conditions.

Can you made my exercise scenario?

A good advise for you silvercrusader: just make a couple of realy fcking good maps and post it (the result would be better then posting about theorys (or descriptions)) Good luck!

well if you have a map made of nothing but super triggers and whatnot where all triggers run immediately without waiting, i'll be looking forward to it. This will be one of those maps where you can't appreciate the effort and triggering unless you see it yourself, you won't really notice it that much in gameplay.

Yes I am a fan of Hyper Triggers IZ.
But I am having quite a few wait times in the triggers for things such as
Respawn Time (i'm thinking 3-5 seconds)
Might as well tell you the name of the map:
Cyber Wars (it is 64x64, i'm not too much of a fan of big maps, specially when all the extra space is unneeded).
