I just got a trial shoutcaster post at WCR! I'm not sure what's actually happening yet, and I have no idea when I will be casting (and what games I will be casting) but I just applied because someone told me I should, and I actually managed to get in - and look out for a staff profile going up on WCR soon. :)

Just thought I'd share the good news!

That's great, RR. Make sure to mention us outsiders that prefer WB instead of WCR in your profile xD

Also, shoutcasting is perfect, i mean people is hardly commenting your AC's because they're almost flawless (nothing major but there's always room for improvements, no matter how good you are)

Bravo! That is very good news.

The ubiquitous advice: should WCR-goers hate on you, take it in your stride; should they love your casts, hello WCR cult figure. ;)

Also, mention this website, that way we get more active members!!! also, tell them to give me money! Use your new found power to influence the world. in the most manipulative way possible. That way, you gain the most money, you can(that way, I can rob you:))

Shoutcasting seems to have such a high turnover rate. Why is that? :S

Congrats, RR. :)

The restaurant biz is no different, but you get paid more to do it. Well, you get paid in the restaurant biz, period, but you're overworked and underpaid. I'm assuming shoutcasting is a great deal of work and no pay... that may be your answer. People have lives... Redrag will eventually have more important things to do.

Well for now, redrag has put a lot of time into wc3, this will also put him farther in the wc scene. With enough practice, he could do well as far as putting himself out there as a potential player. Afterall, hands down redrag has been the hardest dude i've ever played.

Thanks guys!

As for an update, there's a slight chance I'll be commentating the NGL-Two game between n!faculty and starComa.Tagan tomorrow at 6pm CET, if not that I'll probably be commentating on the Saturday at 5pm CET, fnatic vs serious.wc3 - I look forward to it, and I hope you'll all tune in!

P.S.

Also, mention this website, that way we get more active members!!!

That may well be construed as advertising. ;)

Touche. But yes, WCR might frown upon me for doing that. You guys don't really mind. A Mod would have closed it if you mind me posting my success here. ;)

My Staff Profile is up (FTW).

Actually, given WB's policy of not allowing mods to modify one another's posts or threads, the only person that could close this thread would be AJ or Schwitzer. Additionally, I'm fairly certain that WB isn't really thrilled with your advertising for WCR, but we like you enough to give you certain liberties. I, for one, haven't reported you or this thread because I consider you a friend, not because you're not breaking the rules. The only shame here is that WB was willing to take you as you are when WCR didn't give a shit about you, but now that WCR has you, you value them over WB.

It's OK, RedRag, you don't have to talk about your dirty little WB secret, and nobody here will rat you out. You can go over to WCR and play with all the pretentious bullshit they have to offer, and god knows they have plenty. Just don't cry at us when they dump you for the flavor of the week, as they have for the past 3 years. Say "hi" to Shadow for me.

Ouch GA, a little harsh man. Even if it's waranted(which in my opinion it's not, however I can see how your offended), it still is harsh. It could easily be that you know more about the situation of wcr.com being flaming dicks, however, I am having difficulty appreciating the tone of your digital voice.

Also, redrag, i've heard of people who have made video commentaries giving shout outs, a shout out is far from advertising. Do what you will though, and grats again. WarBoards.org Job: Moderator of the WC Forum, someone owes someone an apology:)

Well, it's not like I'm not going to put that in my profile. I was planning to mention it in my first cast, as well. Thank you for pointing it out.

Not that I give a damn whether or not third parties appreciate my digital voice, I will aquiesce that indeed, the tone was harsh. However, given that WB pretty much took in RR from inception and this is where he spent most of his time, I find it no less than crass that once he got into WCR the first thing he did was create a thread in WB talking about how he couldn't advertise in WCR. I'm happy for RR and he's my good friend; but then, at what point are you just being used?

Regardless, I spoke what was on my mind. I do not indulge in pointless games of running in circles and dodging the elephant in the room. I have been to WCR and was a member there a couple of years ago. Needless to say, they tend to run the site like it's MySpace.

I believe WCReplays has been discussed enough here. I do not particularly think this thread warrants a close. In fact, I believe this gives WB an opportunity to ride RR's success as much as it seems RR has succeeded through his posting here at WB.

The truth of the matter is that WB isn't the sole reason for his success, however there are those here who have contributed as much as the replays and articles found on WCR. If we are to draw a line, let it be the line drawn between criticism and compliment. This thread does give us an opportunity to say, "Wow, we have someone posting here at WB on a regular basis who has been through the trials and tribulations of the game, and he's worth his salt enough to also post for WCR."

I see nothing wrong with RR writing/shoutcasting over at WCR and posting here. His information is just as valuable as yours, GA. I like you both, and I would hate to think his success would cause turmoil here.

Congratulations on your success, RR. Make us proud, and if you can throw in a good word, great! If not, we all know you would if you could.

I just heard your membercast. It was entertaining even though i had like a minute delay.
Not only did i learn some WC stuff, but also that dutch people are the tallest and that danish people have sex before everyone else. Thanks, RR. xD

Yeah, no-one else will know what you're talking about if you didn't hear the cast. :)

I'm casting again tomorrow at 5pm CET.

Well written, good argument diffusal! + Rep. ;)

P.S. I will try and put in a good word for WB in my "introduction to me" in my first major cast.

GA, I don't expect you to give a damn about a third parties opinion haha. Simply put however, anyone reading a post or even talking to someone face to face. It is difficult to navigate anger without explination. Thusly, why I said what I did without judgement. Your second post explains to me something that I could only assume initially. So thank you for taking the time to make it clear to a third party:)

Edit: I am right now listening to you, your really clear. I am not using waaagtv but the picture in my head is very clear. So it's a nice clear image that you present. However, my recomendation, passion aside, would be if you stayed focus on the game. Don't worry too much about what you sound like, you will cast as you will cast, you won't change that. Just get into it, and don't worry about how you sound. the reasons why you shouldn't worry about how you sound is

1: your british, you sound good no matter what... and I hate you for it

2: you obviously understand the subtle things about the game, and shout cast those details very well.

things you could improve on.

Stay on 1 point at a time, and try to have a decent transition from one point to another. Even though your very clear, the one time I can lose you is if you switch without a good transition.

don't be as self concious, your a trial shout caster with a lot of love. People love your shit, that's why your there and not in a dumpster. Be what people want you to be, YOU! and don't fret too much. If I had vent we could do some practice.
