Tau Empire Advice.

Hey, I just got Dawn Of War, Dark Crusade for my birthday, and right after trying out all of the races, I instantly found the Tao were my favorite.

So basicly, I just want to know, what strategies are usually used for them? what are their strengths and weaknesses?

I also like the giant monsters you can get from the Kroot, that was the main reason I liked them. The only thing I dislike, is the fact that they cant build turrets, which, hurts them in base defense (i think) I just hope the Tao arent the noob race, I have a tendency for choosing the noobs of every game.:P

So, any advice will be apprecieated.:)

I will make a profound attempt to restrain myself from yelling at you for calling them the "Tao". Like you have correctly put in the title of this thread, it's the "Tau Empire".

The entire Tau doctrine of warfare is based on mobile warfare so instead of building base defenses, you're going to want to use skirmisher forces instead (a single Fire Warrior Team should do). Otherwise, just try to plan attacks against your opponent's base timed well enough so you can use a small strike force to constantly harass their expanding assault force while you build your own assault force.

Btw, sorry for getting all funked up about the name over Tau and all, it's just that I've been a Tau player since they came out with the first table top models for them about 5 or so years ago and I worship them as if they were...something that should be worshiped a lot.

You'll want to go for the Kroot upgrade (can't remembner what you call the docterine. Silent Hunter or something), as the Kroot Hounds etc. are much superior to their technological Tau equivelents.

Dunno if there's been a patch since I last played Tau though.

What I do when i play Tau is try to get all the money and power up first, and then do the upgrade that gets you the hammerhead gunship. x_X

Hammerhead gunship sucks, go with Krootex. They're waaay IMBA, just the way I like it.

I hate the tau tanks. They're bloody useless. Krootox is the only way too go, imo.
