I am sure this has been covered, but I would like to run StarCraft full-screen on my laptop. normally it runs centered in a 640x480 box. I did manage once to have it full screen but I have no idea what I did or how that happened

Do you have DirectX updated to the latest version possible (before the 10th, I mean :P)?
And do you by any chance have the SC.exe file properties' to run in windowed mode?
If those two don't work, the I suggest you to search (http://www.warboards.org/search.php?) around here a little more to see what you can find. I did a 'short tour', and this one (http://www.warboards.org/showthread.php?t=18449&highlight=run+starcraft+full+screen) is the most promising looking. ;)
Oh, I almost forgot... welcome to our humble abode, PGlenn. :)
Try hitting your "Fn" key plus F8. It may or may not work but you need to hold down the function key (Fn) and hit the correct F-key. So go through the 12 Fkeys while holding down the "Fn" key. It's one of them. Becarful though. If you hit the wrong one and don't notice it you may end up with a black screen. :o

Tried F11?
Or resetting your resolution before you play.
