Zelt's Photoshop Contest

Oh yeah. Since I'm back and this time it's for good, I figured I'd better make this forum a bit more Zelt-friendly. So, I'm bringing sexy photoshopness back! ^__^

First off a haiku:

Anyway, I want to see how many PS people are still alive here, so I won't be posting the mechanics yet.
What I can tell you is that it's not going to be photoshop tennis. Not this time. I'll be giving you all a single stock, haven't decided yet if it'll be one per participant or the same one for all.
I'll be wanting an extra 2 judges. No limits on the number of contestants

The basics:

1.- This is a theme contest. The theme is "Rebirth". Interpret it as you please.

2.- You can use up to 5 different stock pictures for your entry. I find that a pretty reasonable limit, especially because most works won't need more than three.

3.- One entry per competitor Submit them to me via PM. Once your entry is in, there's no turning back, so think very carefully if the piece you're about to submit is the definitive one :)

4.- 2 weeks as of 0:00 CST 30/1/07. The deadline is therefore February 13 at midnight.

5.- Entries will be judged on the following criteria:
Creativity
Originality
Skill
Visual Appeal

They're pretty self-explanatory, although, to clarify in case anybody thinks creativity and originality are redundant:
Creativity evaluates the way stocks and design elements are combined to create the final piece.
Originality evaluates the interpretation given to the theme of the contest
Therefore, a picture that shows a baby coming out of a corpse would score low in creativity, whereas something a bit more imaginative... even a phoenix would do better.

6.- You must post all your stocks.

7.- I'm giving you a pretty long leash on dimensions. The minimum is 600x600, the maximum 1500x1500. There is no restriction on proportions so, if you want to make it 600x1500, for example, go ahead.

I'll give you lot a fairly broad range.

Minimum size, 500x500, maximum 1500x1500. There are no restrictions on proportion, so if you want to make it 500x1500, go ahead. [Although it would be a bit absurd, no?]

Now, I honestly had no idea where I was going with this theme. At first I looked at stock I was going to use (http://www.sxc.hu/photo/578304) I decided to have it just painted over meaning a rebirth of the wall's surface; however, as I got going I realized that not only could I figure out a way to make the paint on the wall look realistic but it wasn't that great of an idea. At this point I had the word 'Rebirth' made out of letters from the 'Game Over Police!' graffiti (the 'B's made of an R and an O).

At this point I decided to head in a different direction and just fool around with brushes with the theme ''Chaos Turns To Creation" which is funny because at the end when I began to fiddle with placement I realized the form I had made looked like a Dog or Fox, etc. So in essence I went in blind and my theme proved to be true.

...and now I'm just droning on and on, anyway, here's the pic:
