Whoever the hell coined the idea of talking web banners needs to be shot. Repeatedly. In the face. With a shotgun.
As if flashing epileptic fit-inducing banners that are highly distracting weren't bad enough, now I have to consciously try to avoid a sizable area for fear of being blasted with, "Say something!" and other asinine things.
Worst still, it seems nearly every single frigging site on the Internet is adopting these - some putting two on the one page for added effect. Screw them.
Yeah, I'm bitter.

Try updating your myspace or chaning your URL from 16546549615646 to what you want. It's even more frustrating. As you well know on our msn conversation right now :D

I hate those god damned buzzing-zap-the-mosquito-for-a-chance-to-win-an-XBOX360-and-to-get-free-herbal-viagra-plus-find-single-sexy-girls-who-want-you-in your-local-area.
Well, that's about 3 of them combined but you get the idea.
I had problems with AdBlock extension for firefox screwing up my computer, so I stopped using it like a year or so ago. Now it's working fine, and I recommend you use it...

The mosquito ones. Oh god. The mosquito ones. I'll open a page to study something for school, and out of nowhere, "bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz". You have to zap the damn mosquito to make it shut up, or refresh the page.
That and the "Say something!" ones, and the ones that have an alien that says "Vwaaat?" Ugh. Most irritating things ever.
Dunchy, as for changing your URL, there's a link to do that on your homepage, just above the bulletin stuff. You just click "Set your username/URL!" or whatever it says, and find something that isn't taken. Not too hard. :)

Meh, No-Script extension can be useful. Lets you filter which sites you want to allow.

Could someone link me to one of these talking ads? I haven't seen one yet :o.

NoScript = win.
Oh god I hate those things! They won't shut up and some times make my computer lag! OH GOD I HATE THEM! Though I just got firefox so I'm looking for the ad blocker add on.

Gotta hate these ads. The ones I hate is the ones that have "Guess this celebrity to win an iPod!" WTF! It's obvious 'cause you see that celebrity on TV shows, music videos, and entertainment news all the time. You gotta notice that these ads are bullshit. What's next?
I use Firefox and I have an ad-blocker on it, but I don't like it.
Basicly if it's an internet add. I hate it.
End of story.
It's so damn annoying when you all of a sudden hear this "Say Something!" from outta nowhere. You want me to say something??? I'll say something. SHUT THE FUCK UP AND GET OUTTA MY INTERNETS!!! That and the "hellloooooo" ones. Extremly annoying. Those and the dating service one's are the most annoying.

I complete agree, Lord Schwitzer, those smilies and noises are a menace to society.
Someone even made a flash cartoon (http://www.flashportal.com/movies/say_something.html) about it.

I hate it when people post YouTube videos in forums. *grawr* so much fun and I can't click the damned thing because of 56k -_- makes me want to smack someone in the face with a dead otter o_O.
Oh, and the ads too >_> right, uh say something and stuff [never seen one in my life :D]
Uhm. Adblock//Filter.G Set for firefox. I've not seen a talking ad since they were cool.
Noscript is retarded, I'd rather not whitelist every other fucking site (because it breaks) that uses Javascript just to avoid some potential annoying script that doesn't get blocked from Adblock or PG2.
I think I've run into something like that once.

AdBlock Plus (https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/1865/) along with the Filterset (https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/1136/) are the ones doin' my main crapware blocking when 'net surfing and am very glad with the results. *Thinks of cleanliness when browsing* :)

That one, I also have. Provided that I sometimes need to cruise some *Cough*shady*Cough* sites... don't ask why. :P
s'okay, i've only been planning on implementing two or three of these per thread .. ;)
