the only way to do that was if both your computers were linked to the same network... if you really want to be alone just make a channel on Battlenet that no one else could think of such as "Kakawackai" or "ZemmaWakkaTuTu" always works when i'm playing with my friends

I think it depends on who is the host. I hosted a game once where the latency was horrible, so I dropped everyone. They kept playing together but I was kicked out of the game. Weird huh?

Anyway, since SC doesn't have the option to connect directly to an IP, your best bet would be to use bnet. However, if this is just impossible, you could have your friend set up a FSGS and then use a server management tool (check over at CampaignCreations) to edit the server lists to connect to his server. That way, more than just the two of you could play on it if you wanted as well.

Having 56k does not cause disconnections (sometimes it does disconnect, it is inevitable...), in fact, most of 56k modems are pretty stable.

wait didnt you say you were the one with dial up so why would it want to drop your friend???????????????????????????????????????????? ?????????????????????????????????????????????????? ?????????????????????????????????????????????????? ???????????????????????Explanation:

Computer A has dial up
Computer B has cable

Comp A and B are playing together on B.net

If there is ANY lag whatsoever, Comp A will say "waiting for Comp B" and Comp B will say "Waiting for Comp A"

The message isnt saying the guy with cable lags, its saying the connection between the dial up and cable lags.
